Due to a great experience at The Royalton Bluewaters Montego Bay in Jan 2020 everything was perfect, so we decided to book Royalton Negril BIG MISTAKE! Fridge door was hanging off electric socket loose shower head needed descaling bedside light not working room light flashing, it took one week to get hangers as we only has 3 each between 3 adults, I had to keep asking for bathroom towels , we were offered a new room but I had to refuse due to very strong mouldy smell , The vibe team had no direction and they were all doing there own thing .very disappointed to see room service tray with leftover food on it and bags off rubbish left on landing over 24 hours until I complained about it, then it was moved , most of the staff look miserable and some are rude , the lifeguard wanted a tip cos he talked to us ? The electrician ENTERED my room at 11pm woke me up and said he wanted to repair the socket , absolutely crazy, we had torn bed linen no pillow cases only pillow protectors, the maid was rude , felt embarrassed to keep asking for towels and sheets to be changed, endless complaints. I had diarrhoea after day 3 which continued during my 2 week stay, I have been back 1 week now and just beginning to feel better, be very careful what you eat . I paid top dollar for this holiday so I’m very disappointed.
Fun in the sun …
Jarrett, the fitness guy, was great. Did aqua spin which was great fun! Bikes in the water. Great selection of drinks, Clive the barman was great. Served the best Pina Colada. The Vibe Team are great! Great entertainment! Lovely friendly hotel!
Fitness team is amazing, had a great trainer Amoy who provided an amazing aerobics session in the pool and boot camp which included a spa reward that me and my partner enjoyed. Would definitely recommend a stay here !
Staff in general very friendly and polite big shout out for Winnie on Hideaway beach kept the drinks coming
The Hotel is a bit tired in places everyday had to go to lobby for one reason or other I:e four times the toilet got blocked also they have first come resturant’s but unless your in Diamond club it’s very difficult to get in one, Had to complain to management to be able to book restaurants also one night no hot water entertainment was quite good on a few nights
I feel I need to write this review as my experience at this hotel was terrifying. Not only is the hotel unsafe regarding broken floors and stairs the power cuts are frightening. I was in the shower during one of these cuts and it was pitch black. I fell reaching for my gown and lay in agony until power returned. It was only then my husband was able to help me and contact medical help. I broke my foot. Sprained my ankle and hip. I had to spend hours in hospital to be given injection of pethidine to help me cope with the pain. I was put it a cast and had to spend the remainder of my hiday mostly in my room. I had to fly home in the cast and spent several weeks in it while teaching children. The hotel did arrange hospital treatment however they are now not replying to my complaint and my emails go unanswered. I just want others to be extremely careful about booking at Royalton Jamaica as my overall experience was dreadful. As well as being on pain I was charged to use a wheelchair and waiting 4 hours to have water brought to my room. No care whatsoever for the well being of guests. Steer clear honestly.
