    Good Food that’s it

The food was very good - the service was terrible. Waited over an hour to get a pizza in Grazie the Italian restaurant when it came it was the wrong pizza. It took well over an hour to get a drink by the pool rarely had service. Rooms were nice beds are hard. Service so bad never had facecloths, hand towels, fridge not restocked. Had to go to front desk multiple times it always felt like you were bothering them. No pleasantries staff on floors never said hi, good morning, etc. Get up at 5am to get chairs by the pool, they let people put towels down first thing and they wouldn’t come down til noon. A lot of broken chairs, pads on chairs scarce and they are all ripped and stained. You can’t get a coffee until 7am anywhere or food. I’ve stayed at 3 different Royalton this one was the worst. The ground has pot holes everywhere very run down. Make your reservations with the rep outside zen the app is terrible and so is the wifi. It’s in and out constantly.

    Great People and Great Service!

TLDR: it’s 5/5 ⭐️s for us! The staff and the service are incredible and the most problems you’ll run into is dealing with other guests. Don’t be scared of the bad reviews I was worried but ran into no problems at all 💛💚🖤 Now the long one 😆 We were a couple there on the Hideaway for 7days/6nights and booked through Costco, can highly recommend. It was our first time in Jamaica and first time with a Royalton/AI. We were attended to the second we got off our airport transfer, I’m sorry we forgot the wonderful front desk and bell hops names. Jaeniel (and Michaela and Jahnoy) at the lobby bar were spectacular and a great welcome. Riri with the Royalton membership/“timeshare” group in the lobby was also great. She was very welcoming and in exchange for listening to the presentation you get a discount/free “add on” item that’s available at the resort like the spa. We did the culinary experience and …. YALLLLLLLLL!! It was so so sooo amazing and worth it. DELVIN AND LEON were unforgettable and it was easily the best food I’ve had…. probably ever. The free breakfast with the presentation is at the buffet but I would say overall the presentation is worth what they offer for just listening. The room was great and for 2 people the size was perfect. We were originally assigned two beds but were immediately assigned a new room to accommodate us as a couple (without us even asking!). We had a wonderful balcony view on the east side, it was towards an empty lot but honestly getting to watch the sunrise over the hills (see pics!) was amazing! There’s not a bad view from the rooms what we could tell. Our room service / house keeping staff were AMAZING! Ramoy and Christen from Ocho Rios are the names we remember! RESPECT MON! The power went out for maybe 5-10 minutes at the hotel our first morning around 9am (Sunday) but that was it. Remember Jamaica is an island and electricity is much more scarce than you would think! I just went to the cafe to get myself a coffee in the meantime and by the time I got back it was on the rest of the trip 🙂 The food was delicious and we didn’t have any issues with cold food. We tried food from the buffet, the steakhouse, taj (Indian), jerk hut 😍, grazie (Italian), Dorado (Delvin’s ceviche… my mouth is watering again), and of course the room service. Booking at the restaurants was pretty difficult through the app because 1) the wifi was pretty poor/the app bad and 2) the hotel was at 96% capacity this week! We didn’t have issues as long as you book a day in advance and don’t mind later dinner times, but could see how big groups would have a hard time. SHOUTOUT TO OUR SERVERS: Younique, Joel, AnaMaree, Leon!! We loved you all! Respect mon! The excursions were pretty good and the hotel staff are great at explaining them. We did Dunns River Falls (bring closed toe water shoes!!!) and the Luminous Lagoon, both worth it and a lot of fun! Respect Debbie, JR, and Spaceman!! We did a few Royalton Fit classes (mostly the morning yoga) and they were exactly what I needed. Travis, Shaneesha (I hope I got her name right!), D(aniel), and Winston - respect for kicking my butt! The beach to the right of the hideaway side has local vendors, including Leon the lobster superstar. We recommend talking to The General, Paula, Ms. Miller or Dr. Happy down there for survivors and a good time! Saving the best for last - the pool and bar staff. Every single person at the Hideaway Infiniti Bar was AMAZING! It takes a second to get the drinks, but they’re working hard! Everybody wants drinks! Omar, Maxi Waxi, Conigia, and (saving the best for last) SHENEKA!!! Tell them Mo and Karly sent you! Respect to you all for working so hard and for always being a good time. Tyrone and Shamoi with the vibe team always made sure everyone was having the best time and respect! Honestly yall, it’s what you make it. The staff are really there to make sure you’re having the best time that you can, and we had the best time because of it. This is their livelihood! enjoy your vacation and let them help where they can. In Jamaica, we would say IRIE 💛🖤💚 If you made it this far I hope you’re so excited and have a great trip 🇯🇲

    Big Thumbs Down!!!

This review is coming from someone who has been to over a dozen All Inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean. This resort by far is at the bottom of my list. I’ve been to really cheap low star resorts and had better experiences. We were there for 5 nights, adults only section, diamond club, and booked the Corner Partial Ocean View room. First off the room had a view of the pool and the building in-front of it. At only one spot standing from the balcony could I get a tiny glimpse of the ocean between the palm trees. At Check-in, we were right away pressured to attend a time share breakfast. Very uncomfortable especially after a long day of travel. Diamond Club was only good for dinner reservations. The while Butler thing was bit much. Two days in I was leaving phone in room to avoid being bothered. Some people l, I guess like them following you around. Diamond Club liquor selection was not top shelf. Absolute Vodka was considered top self. Where other resorts with this upgrade you truly get top shelf!!! First night, I went to restroom near the Steak House and there was cockroaches all over the sinks and floor. At least a dozen or so. Second night, our housekeeper turned down the room and upon out return there were blood splatter stains on a pillow case. Security Workers were rude twice. Overall the upkeep of the room was poor. The shower leaked really bad. Also, the black mold growth on caulk and grout was disgusting. They should be taking better care of the rooms. The best part of the resort was the service. Most workers were very nice and dining staff. Main Lobby Bartenders were great. Also, Maria at the Diamond Club Beach Bar was Excellent!! Food was decent. Breakfast had eggs literally every way know to man! If you stay here make sure you get a really good deal and don’t have high expectations.
