    Best vacation in Cancun!

We stayed 14 days at Heaven Riviera Cancun all inclusive. Our stay was wonderful due to the wonderful people we connected with from the moment we arrived. Sandra was at the front desk checking us in together with Rafael. They were so welcoming and accommodating, treating us like royalties. They explained everything that was available to us at this resort, offering us nice welcoming drinks and connecting us with our butler Paco. Every day Paco checked with us how we were doing, made reservations for our dinners and he was taking care of all our needs. If something was not good, he always tried to take our feedbacks and improved the service. The resort has many places to eat at any time during the day and many restaurants to have nice dinners. Drinks were available on the beach as well as at the swimming pools. As far as food, we loved the most Vista snack bar were Baltazar served us a special lunch with delicious seafood cooked by chef Luigi, the best we ever had. Also they made delicious mushroom omelets for us. Baltazar was always very accommodating waiting for us with delicious papaya and our special drinks ready to be served just like we liked it. We were spoiled every day by all the people we interacted with. The room service was extremely good at any time of the day. Our room was sparkling clean every day and the ladies were always checking with us if we needed anything throughout the day. We were impressed how friendly and nice everyone is and how clean the resort is. They also have many activities throughout the day but cannot speak about it because we didn’t go to any. Overall we had a very relaxing vacation due to all the people we interacted with and made friendships. Will be forever grateful!

Great vacation with a few misses

Just home after a week spent with Haven. It was a great vacation with a few misses. After a few days we noticed others being greeted with a welcome drink & a cool towel. We were greeted with neither. Not a big deal - just a miss. But we did have a banner on our door welcoming us back. This was our 2nd trip to Haven. Number 1 piece of advice - bring your own travel cup. If you fail to do that, buy the $4 cup at the coffee shop. The coffee shop beverages come in a small cup. Sometimes it felt like the bar drinks were the same. This, I assume, is meant to cut down a waste. But at times just felt stingy. We noticed the buffet plates were tiny the 1st day. But quickly noticed there are 2 size plates at the buffet. So if you are looking for a big meal, grab the big plate. While we were there, they were under the bread. I was also annoyed by having 2 wash clothes per day (for 2 people) in our room. They need to, at least, double that. Haven has 2 pools. One for activities & one for "quiet." The zero entrance, quiet pool is our favorite. Unfortunately, the sound/music/noise from the activity pool often intrudes. And for some reason there are speakers around the quiet pool that places music. I'd love to stay in one of the swim out rooms, but would hate that music all day. Why are so many people allergic to quiet? I think they could have used another server around the pool. While I am not interested in the pool activities, the foam party did look fun. And there were bubbles floating everywhere. Our room was comfortable. We had a partial ocean view. There was a few times we heard noise from the walkway, but it was very limited. I loved the wonderful hot shower. The window into the shower is weird when traveling with a friend. But it can be closed. I LOVE the bracelet key. FOOD: There are lots of options, so hopefully everybody can find something. Unfortunately, we encounter several misses. Mistral is next to the quiet pool. The chicken burger appeared to be a thin, formerly frozen, chicken patty. There was something wrong with it. Not sure if it was the chicken, tomatoes or mayo. Having had food poisoning last Fall, I wasn't risking it. There were usually a small crowd there, so maybe we picked the wrong thing. They have a daily special. I don't know why but steak is not something enjoyed in Mexico. They have never used tenderizer on a steak. At Agua Bendita we tried 3 different cuts - New york, Rib eye (best) and Picana. They were all horribly tough. The server brought me a better knife when he saw my struggle to cut. I also suggest ordering a level more done than you normally do. The absolute best thing at the steak restaurant is the guacamole. Made fresh at table side. I would have loved to pick items from each restaurant: The best appetizer was the pork gyoza at Satsu. The teppanyaki at Satsu was also enjoyed. The best soup was prawn & scallop at Olios. I was still thinking about this the next day. Unfortunately, the picana was inedible. The best entree was chicken escalope Milanese at Vora Mar. It was an enormous piece of fried chicken (think chicken parm) could have used a bit more sauce. The best dessert was the tre leche that I found one afternoon at Flavours Buffet. I was sad to not see this on repeat. At breakfast, replenishing of food was usually quick. But service at Flavours could be hit or miss. We did not eat dinner at the buffet, but the menu looked interesting. I'd rather spend time in the coffee shop than in the bar. The coffee shop never disappointed. They even have some liquor available to top off your coffee - Bailey's, Frangelica, etc. The coffee shop was always full of smiling faces and helpful people. There are a lot of people working hard at the resorts in Mexico. Most do it with a smile & good attitude. Personally, I think the tourist could do a better job on their side. Pick up after yourself. Leave a tip. No it isn't required. Do it anyway.

    Average

Shoutout to Leo, Michael, and Aquino for their outstanding service — they truly went above and beyond. The service was excellent. However, the food was average (2/5), and the hotel itself was decent (3/5). The rooms, unfortunately, felt unkept — there was visible dirt under the fridge, and several areas around the room could really use a fresh coat of paint. Also, adding AC in the elevator would be a much-needed improvement.

    Amazing

Everything was amazing from service, attentiveness, cleanliness, etc. Staff really ensured that we were always taken care of and having a good time. Swim out pool service (by Paulo) was amazing. He served us drinks almost every day of trip and nice to always see him!
