Good hotel, with some strong aspects, but disappointing overall experience.
The hotel is nice, with great buildings, grounds, pools and beach areas, and enough to keep you busy. But, too many things are just average: the rooms, the food (v mixed), drinks (cocktails poor), entertainment, general maintenance issues and the service is very inconsistent, from excellent to terrible. Shame, as the staff are readily available and are generally lovely. I know things are just recovering from Covid, but we were quite disappointed on several occasions.

Disappointed
Whilst I don’t want to sound ungrateful as we had no real major issues with our stay, it did fall short of my expectations, we paid a considerable amount for a family stay with two rooms, rooms were cramped and quite tired looking, very small beds more like a small double. The staff were exceptional, they work really hard and can’t do enough to help you but all in all the facilities weren’t great, very difficult to get sunbeds! I was a little annoyed to find that most of the sunbeds are already reserved for customers who appear to be under a timeshare type scheme that obviously UK visitors aren’t involved in. A whole section is closed off to these customers and getting up at 6:30 every day is not my idea of a relaxing holiday but that’s what we had to do to secure a spot. Plenty of loungers on the lagoon but unfortunately there was quite a lot of seaweed on our visit. Food was ok, again not amazing, we dined at a couple of the restaurants but it felt like the same sort of food from the main buffet just plated and again very difficult to get reservations unless you are under the timeshare scheme and have a butler who reserves them for you. Cocktails were disgusting! But my husband was pleased to find they served Corona and Modelo. Again I appreciate these aren’t massive issues but when you have spent over £14’000 for a holiday my personal expectation is probably a bit higher than what was on offer. I have experienced far better hotels in Turkey for a fraction of that cost. We had originally booked The Grand at Moon Palace for a lesser cost but unfortunately had to change because of Covid and it was not available on our dates. We chatted to a few people who had been to both and said there was no comparison, wish we had just found alternative dates for that hotel.

Kids Club rocks!
If I could pack the kids club staff in bags my…trust me I would. The teachers there are amazing! Best personality and customer service not only to me as the parent but for my child as well. We stayed at the Hard Rock Rivera Maya for 7 days and 4 out of 7 my son would spend the morning with them and immediately would ask if he can go back the next day. They are very kind and with great personality. When they greet the kids, they make it all about the kids. Very genuine and amazing! Their area is very clean and organized. The staff follows COVID Protocol

Hard Rock Riviera Maya
I’ve stayed in all of the All inclusive hard rocks in Mexico and Punta Cana. Ever since our first trip the quality of the service and food has gone down dramatically. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. Hard rock truly used to be an all inclusive but. Ow they nickel and dime you to death.

True oasis
True Oasis’s, we had the best time this resort is so inviting in every way from the cuisine to the entertainment.. it is ver romantic as well. I love the private beach areas along with the multiple pools to choose from. You can make it a family vacation or a romantic get away it’s up to you. If you have little ones there’s plenty for them to do as well. I highly recommend this resort and is planning to return next year.
