Outstanding Vacation at Grand Velas Los Cabo

We had the most incredible vacation at the Grand Velas Los Cabo. Everything was perfection from the accommodations, the food, the staff, and the overall resort. Alexis and Natalia were our personal concierge staff and we can’t rave about them enough. They thought of every little detail to make our stay memorable - they left little surprises for the kids in the room, coordinated our excursions off the property, provided a schedule for each day, planned activities, brought treats to our room before dinner- the list goes on and on! Also, Carmen with the Activity Staff went above and beyond to create experiences that the adults and children would enjoy. Our children also loved the Kids Club and Teens Club. The staff was always welcoming and had such fun activities planned. This was the perfect vacation, thanks to the perfect resort and all the wonderful people who work there. We will definitely be going back!

    BEYOND EXCEPTIONAL !!

Greeted with champagne! Check-in was efficient and swift. Our concierge, Marianna, spoke great English (because our Spanish is embarressing!) and made our entire vacation just perfect from reservations to activity recommendations throughout our entire stay. She kept in touch but not annoyingly so like we've seen at other resorts. We had a tiny hiccup with our room (travel company's fault - not the resort's) and she quickly addressed it with a manager. If you're lucky to get her as your concierge, sit back and relax - she will take care of everything. Dafne, the manager we had to speak with, was so very pleasant and accommodating (she even bumped us up a suite level for the very minor inconvenience (that's service!) - again caused by the travel company we booked through. She also followed up to make sure everything was just perfect with the new suite (and it was!). The resturants were beyond excellent in every category imaginable from service, to taste, to ambience, etc. (we practically ran to dinner and rolled back to our suites!) We had two favorite resturants for dinner. The first was the Frieda Restaurant. Just superb. I commented that I would love one of the soup receipes and Chef Karla Rivera came out to our table, handed me a sheet of paper with the receipe hand written on it and then went over it with me!! (At my age, I can't do cartwheels, but I wanted to over this!) The other favorite restaurant was the French restaurant Piaf. The cuisine was absolutely "French" and delightful (there is not a proper French resturant to be found in Texas!). Our waiter at Piaf was Raymundo. He spoke perfect flawless English. He knows the menu and can expertly describe every item. It's obvious he is dedicated to ensuring your entire dinner is absolutely remarkable, memorable, and exceptional. (He would make an outstanding concierge!) Since we enjoyed everything about this resort we briefly met with a sales representative, Raul Gonzalez, to possibly hold a future event there. Raul patiently answered several questions and provided a lot of very helpful information for us to start planning! The resort is beautiful and well maintained. It was just lovely to see it decorated for Christmas! It was all too short of a stay! We are looking forward to returning!

Quality all inclusive that your kids (and you!) will love!

We actually visited in July of 2022 but it would not let me select a date for last year. Beautiful property, it's fairly new so all the rooms were in pristine condition. We had two connecting rooms and they were very spacious with a gorgeous view of the beach and pools. All of the staff are kind and so helpful, we especially loved Silvana who ran the activities at the pool with the kids. By the end of our stay, we felt like she was a friend and were so sad to say goodbye to her! The kids and teens clubs here are phenomenal, our kids (ages 11, 9 and 6) actually preferred to spend time there and asked to skip the family dinners we had scheduled so they could go to the kids/teens club instead! The activities are so engaging and the staff are so great with the kids that it's no wonder they wanted to spend all their time there (which gave my husband and I opportunities to go to the adults only restaurants and pool!). All of the food was quite impressive for an all inclusive, the restaurants were all upscale and high quality. Le Cocina de Artur was by far our favorite - such a creative and fun culinary experience! We recommend this resort to all of our friends with children who are looking for a quality all inclusive in Cabo, very pleased with our stay and we loved it so much that we also tried the Grand Velas in the Riviera Maya and loved that too!

Another brilliant Grand Velas family vacation

Our family spent a week at the resort in November and had a fantastic time. We are lucky enough to have stayed in Grand Velas Riviera Maya several times, as well as Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit twice, but this was our first trip to Cabo. I am pleased to say we enjoyed this as much as our other trips, and it is a close call between the Cabo and Riviera Maya resorts as to which our favourite might be. Our kids preferred this resort overall. The resorts are all similar but have differences that make some things better and some things worse. Pros 1. Grand Velas Cabo had the nicest rooms with the best views, and overall the best pools due to the hot-tubs positioned at the ends of each pool. They made a huge difference to enjoying pool time on cooler days. Best swim up bars of the three resorts due to the positioning. 2. Pool service excellent, basically consistent throughout all 3 resorts. The only thing that wasn't routinely done here was adjusting parasols for shade, which at Riviera Maya was done pro-actively by the pool concierge. 3. Restaurants were great, and unlike the other Grand Velas resorts they really make use of the patios for dining which is lovely for the vacation vibe. This is my favourite of the three resorts for dining, and food quality was up a notch too. Riviera Maya is almost entirely indoors for dining, making it seem more formal. Also there the Miramar bar was lovely with the firepits overlooking the ocean, and the view from the Skybar patio was lovely. 4. Teens club was superb - Denise who worked there was brilliant and kind with our kids and always looked after them so well. We were very impressed with her. 5. Kids club was also excellent, with a special mention to the brilliant Martha who always went above and beyond and made the trip extra special for our kids. A true asset to the resort. 6. Service levels were generally excellent throughout the resort. As a reference, last year we stayed at Four Seasons Punta Mita, which was great but the service was better at Grand Velas. Top tier. 7. Drop in drop out approach at the Kids and Teen clubs is so much more convenient than the fixed half/full day sessions at comparable luxury resorts. The hours are generous too, closing at 11pm instead of 6pm at other resorts. This is one of the big things that keeps us coming back. Cons 1. The resort is on a busy road, and our initial room unfortunately suffered with some intrusive road noise throughout the day and night. As soon as you step out into the open corridor from the room it is even noisier. We were able to switch rooms to the other side of the resort and the difference was immediate - the sound of the traffic was switched with the sound of the ocean, and it was a vastly better experience. I wouldn't return if I couldn't confirm a room which wasn't close to the road. 2. No beach - I knew it wasn't swimmable, but I didn't realise how much beach they had lost due to recent weather, and there are no loungers etc. available on the very small beach that remains. 3. With the compact nature of the resort and lack of beach, there are less places to hangout/things to do here than at the sister Riviera Maya resort. 4. Whilst the standard of housekeeping was excellent, throughout our stay they were unfortunately not able to meet our request for the timing of service, and turndown service was happening at 4-5pm consistently despite 3-4 requests via our concierge to have this later once we had gone out to dinner. 5. We didn't have a personal concierge for 3 out of 7 days of our stay. Overall: Superb resort, possibly the best of the Grand Velas resorts in many ways. The stand-out features which are missing at the other Grand Velas resorts were the lovely al fresco dining and the multiple pool hot-tubs, which are a big improvement especially on cooler days. We missed having a beach, and we also missed the amazing Zen pool from Riviera Maya. Would definitely plan to return though.

Most Luxurious All Inclusive Stay You’ll Experience!

My husband and I chose Grand Velas Cabo San Lucas to celebrate our birthdays and 25th wedding anniversary. We wanted to be spoiled and, boy were we spoiled! The hotel is attentive to all its guests needs from assigning a concierge for the duration of your stay to help with setting up activities or making spa and dinner reservation to providing a beach bag for all your things by the pool. The suites are large and comfortable-every room has a breathtaking ocean view. There are several restaurants to choose from for dinner and there are buffet or poolside options for lunch. The gym was surprisingly large, clean and set up with new equipment. Spa was very pricey but an incredible experience. If there were one thing that was lacking it was easy access to the beach-a recent hurricane damaged the stairs and are awaiting repair. This property is more focused on being poolside rather-there are no snorkeling, sailing, paddleboard, etc. options unless you go into Cabo. All in all, we gave our stay a 10 out of 10 and plan on trying out another Grand Velas hotel next year!
