You will want to eat elsewhere
The decor is nice, but there were facilities issues- the bathroom door barely slid and the "restaurant" was basically a small bar menu. At least the folks in the tiny convenience store area would heat up the pre-made sandwiches; I suppose thatʻs something. Oh, and they did have water bottles available, but for $2 each. It just seemed cheap not to at least have the initial water available gratis, given the price.

In need of an update
Pretty straight forward 3 star hotel (not 4 star). The lobby is nice but the rooms are a bit dated and some furniture is falling apart. I expected more from a Grand Hyatt. It's been way too long since it's been updated.

Nice hotel, uncomfortable bed
The hotel was nice, the area was nice. Very walkable to restaurants. I just wish the actual bed was comfortable. I spent two nights here and had horrible sleep. I was not the only one in the meeting who felt the same way.

Fire in the Hotel
There was a fire in the hotel during my stay. The staff didn't know how to handle it. Panic ensued. I wouldn't trust this place with any sort of emergency, and afterward, everyone wanted to pretend like nothing happened. I do NOT recommend.

Good Response to the 1 am Fire, but what did the front desk do with the lost credit card?
FIRE RESPONSE: GOOD I think that the hotel handled the 1 am fire fairly well. Yes, some of the higher floors had sprinklers activated and evacuation instructions. Yes, there was smoke. Yes, the fire alarm was pulled next to our room. Yes, we saw a firefighter. We appreciated the announcement that said that we could return to our rooms before we made it all the way down the stairs. SERVICE: 4 stars? I was not impressed that the credit card that I turned in to the front desk disappeared within the hour after I turned it in and went back with the card's owner. I expected it would have been put into the hotel safe, but with the shift change, the person I gave it to was no longer there. I thought that turning the card in was the better option than hanging on to the credit card myself. I left a note where the credit card was left and asked the cleaning lady to leave the note and was instructed to rewrite the note by another employee. I was not impressed that upon entering, we saw ... the bar. The bar was quite pretty. Did we come in the wrong door? Nope. The reception desk was off to the left. Reception will also be moving eventually? It sounds like the new reception desk will be visible upon entering. LOCATION: GOOD $50/night for overnight parking in downtown Denver. Walking distance to The Brown Palace afternoon tea. Walking distance to the 16th Street Mall (now the 16th Street Pedestrian Promenade or something).
