Not at all what we expected!
We wanted to relax which is why we chose an adults only resort but, that was not the case at all as this place was pretty loud most of the time, it felt like we were on spring break or a frat party. Before booking this resort I asked them at what capacity they were running and I was told “We are running at 25% capacity” which was one of the main reasons we chose this place. It was pretty evident from the begging that the hotel was not operating at 25% The place was pretty full, from restaurants to the pool area. It was hard to find chairs anywhere especially on Friday and Saturday there was so many people and it was so loud, someone mentioned that they saw busses bringing in people for what seemed for the day! People would smoke everywhere including in the swimming pool. The food was just okay for a 5 star resort, we have been to others where the food is outstanding. The rooms smelled really musty/moldy. For an all-inclusive resort they want to charge you for a lot of things! My wife is a coffee person, she always makes sure that places have a coffee shop included but, when she went to get coffee she was told that the only coffee that was included was just plain regular coffee and it was on the smallest cup (smaller than a tall) if you wanted anything larger it had to be Starbucks for an extra charge! Like I mentioned before the food was just okay, we had dinner at the Italian restaurant and they offered a porter house steak (Extra charge!) I went ahead and ordered it, big mistake the steak was like ¼ inch thick and was more bone than meat, keep in mind that this was for an extra charge. We went to the skybar and I saw they had redbulls I asked for one and was told they were also not included and I had to pay almost $5 for a small redbull. The only thing that we found good in this resort was the ocean view from the room. Also the service was really good given the circumstances. The one person that I really want to thank and that went out of his way to make our stay was better was Dominique who ran I believe the pool area, Thank you Dominique! All in all this was a real disappointment and we would not return to this resort!
Amazing Amazing Amazing!
I wanted to give some quick words on why my experience was 5-Stars at Grand Fiesta Americana, Puerto Vallarta. Not only was the service excellent, but they had all the precautions in place to make you feel safe during this pandemic. Overall: This is a luxury resort with all the amenities you need on a Mexican beach getaway. You arrive in an open-air lobby overlooking the Bahía de Banderas. I believe most accommodations provide you with an amazing ocean view. This is one of my favorite locations because you are maybe 5-10 minute’s drive from the Romantic Zone on a more secluded beach. This provides you calm waters to kayak, jet ski, or just relax. I also enjoy this resort because it is adults only- so no children are running around to ruin your beach vacation! Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make this a 5-star experience. Special Staff Recognition (the following people went above and beyond in the service they provided, making me feel as I were part of their family) • Antonio (Bellman)- from the moment you enter the door you are greeted with a friendly, warm gentleman., No wonder he has the nickname “Homie”. He is like the uncle you never had. A great way to enter and exit the resort! • Ruben (Vacation Club)- he remembered me from my last stay here and made sure that everything was taken care of. If I had a request – he went the extra mile to make sure it was taken care of. Every day he would check-in when he saw me, just to make sure everything was great! • Fernando and Alfredo (Pool)- these two guys are awesome! They provide the best pool service I have ever had at any hotel. They are so attentive to you and provide you with whatever you need. They remembered my favorite drink and made sure that I never went empty. They are so speedy and are a great team. • Nelvin (Lifeguard)- he is a sweet and kind spirit, who not only protects the beach but wants to make sure he connects with you as a friend as well. He was so awesome to call on whenever you want to kayak or just have a quick chat. • Esperanza (Bar)- she is an amazing woman/bartender. She went well above and beyond service, not only always serving with a smile, but also teaching me a little Spanish along the way. She is a great and dedicated hard worker! • Alberto “Rony” (Waiter)- Such a sweet and nice guy. He works so fast, even when busy, he makes sure all his tables are taken care of. If you don’t know what something is, he will take the time to explain everything to you. • Carlos (Starbucks)- Although I didn’t go to Starbucks that often, Carlos was always a friendly face when walking through the lobby. Even under his mask, you can tell that he is always smiling. When I would walk by he would always ask how I am doing. • Fernando (Front Desk/Lobby)- He provides outstanding service to all his guests. I watched his busy work while waiting in line, and he attended to everyone’s needs. He even handled some tough customers all while being polite/respectful. Whenever you need anything, he is a go-to person.
Relaxation at its best!
As I’m sitting in the lobby waiting to leave the resort, thought it would be a good time to review. I just spent 8 nights and had a very relaxing vacation. Spent most of my time in or near the pools. Service has been exceptional the entire stay. Food pretty good for an All Inclusive resort. Drinks good and consistent with a variety of brands. Ocean water nice and warm with a wave break so it’s not too rough. Room was cleaned and mini bar restocked each day. Visiting in September I expected it to be super hot and humid but it wasn’t bad averaged mid 80’s with 75% humidity. I’d come back to this resort.
Management needs to work on saying yes!!
I talked my husband into trying this resort instead of a marriot where he is platinum. The service at rwtsauranta, pool and bars was excellent. Managemsnt never came thru. We were told one thing and when not received went to management who did not honor any of them. Now I have to hwar from hubby if we were at marriot they would have and added extra just for inconvenience. Managemenr gets a 1, service staff a 5
First time in Puerto Vallarta & Grand Fiesta Americana
Wife and I have been busy and COVID-fatigued. Took a trip to Vallarta and while it was rainy season we got some sunshine & it was just what we needed. The accommodation were clean & food was good! Everyone was very kind and the guys around the pool made sure we had food and a drink in our hand. Aldo was especially helpful & checked in on us constantly. My only critique would be for the resort to communicate/ display restaurant/ event hours and availability consistently and visibility throughout the resort to remove the guesswork - easier to make dinner plans. The resort and staff did a great job with health precautions - very high standard.
