Much needed respite
Fabulous staff. Comfortable haven from everything with no worries due to attentive, professional staff who have obviously been trained to care about health and wellness of all. Food in every restaurant was expertly done by chefs who wanted to meet the patrons and to please. Don't hesitate to visit this resort...time and again.
The wine tasting event was fabulous! Excellent education and delicious wine. Danny and his team do a great job. Be sure to check them out when you visit! All of the food has been delicious as well. Carlos is taking great care of our every need. You will enjoy the breath taking beach and cooling pools!
Thorough review of dishonest management practices at this resort
Upon arrival, we were checked in by a concierge named Andres. He let us know that if we agreed to attend a “presentation” on the membership of GFA the next morning, we would receive a voucher for 50% off any excursions. He told us the presentation would last 90 minutes. They would pick us up from the lobby at 9am and do it over breakfast. Fast forward to the morning, we are greeted by a salesperson who begins to question us on our marital status, income, future family plans, length of co-habitation, etc.. we quickly realized we were duped into a time share/ownership sales pitch. We are a young, childless, 20-something couple!! After about 60 minutes we began to express our disinterest. The sales woman, named Carolina, was relentless. After seeing model homes (which by the way are not that impressive, very dated 90’s design) she took us to a “closing room”. She tried to sell us on an $8,000 deposit for a 40 year membership!!!! With a total cost of 40K. We very clearly said we are not interested - but this time 2.5 hours have gone by and she would not let us leave. So after at least 15 fat resounding NO’s and requests to leave, she brings in, and I kid you not, a “quality control manager” to make sure that she said “everything she was supposed to so I don’t get a bad review from you”. In comes Mauricio, the “quality control” manager. At first he asks us for feedback. And within 30 seconds he starts to try and pitch us on less and less expensive vacation packages that will allow us to “lock in the amazing rate of membership that is only available during the pandemic” after now over 50 times saying no. They actually sent in a professional closer! So three hours later, three hours of our vacation we will never get back, we go to the excursions desk to retrieve our coupon, at which time they tell us that we can only get the discount if we pay in cash. Really?? Is this a deli on a New York street corner or the Grand Fiesta Americana Resort. So anyways, we booked a snorkeling trip. We loved finding out that a different couple we met at the pool got FREE excursions for their time while we were offered 50%. Next, we went right next door to the spa to book a massage, and they told us that the hotel isn’t accepting cash because of Covid, credit cards only.... soooo... which is it fellas? So we try to enjoy the next few days — and the one star in this review is for the following amazing gentlemen who were so attentive and working so hard to provide amazing service all day poolside: Cesar, Eduardo, Jesus, Oscar, and Carlos. The restaurants were very very good and the house wine is an excellent Sauvignon blanc from Spain. The main pool is magnificent, and there are many other pools to choose from. The beach is wonderful and there is a small swimming alcove that has great snorkeling. So, food and service (from the waiters and pool area staff) was amazing. It stops there. Here’s the kicker: On our last day, we had a car picking us up at 1:30pm. So we requested a late checkout of 1:30pm, and they said no problem. We enjoyed our last hour soaking in the sun and headed back to our room to pick up our luggage and go straight to the lobby. So we get to our room, in swimsuits, and the keys have been deactivated before our check out time. We had a car coming in 15 minutes, and we couldn’t get into our room to retrieve our luggage, let alone put clothes on. So we called the front desk from our cell phones and the concierge told us someone would come down to let us in. We let them know we had a car coming so could they please send someone quickly. Twenty minutes later, we are still stuck outside our rooms. So in dripping wet swimsuits, half naked, we had to go up to the lobby to get new keys. They tried to tell us it was OUR FAULT the keys didn’t work! At this point we are embarrassed to be half naked in the lobby, stressed about missing our car and flight, not a single person has apologized or tried to help. So we finally get back to our rooms with new keys and get harassed with phone calls over and over again from the lobby that our driver is going to leave. We asked them to please hold our driver, they said no problem, he’ll wait until 2pm. So we get up there finally at 1:50, and asked to speak to the manager of the hotel. Meanwhile the driver comes in and says he’s leaving. We said we were told he could wait until 2pm, and he said sorry no, I never said that. So we finally talk to the “manager”, Rosa, who was in fact, not the manager but some sort of lead concierge. We explained our concerns and again, not once did she try to help, never apologized, made no attempts to right anything, and again made us feel like getting locked out of our room was somehow our fault. We asked why the sales pitch lasted three hours when we were promised 90 minutes and she said, I kid you not “it takes a little longer do you have any questions that we need to answer”! Wow that has to be the most creative response I’ve ever heard. Please, don’t ask any questions before dropping 8k on a down payment, so you can stay within your 90 minutes... This hotel is so sleazy. We asked for the general manager’s information and for some kind of comp for these experiences that ultimately culminated into 5 hours of lost vacation time and just an absolutely horrible experience. These managers think Americans are stupid, and it shows. The dishonesty from the management of this hotel is obvious from the moment you arrive. I feel terrible for the wonderful people working for these managers if they are treated anything close to how they treat their guests. We left feeling completely insulted. Dear Sergio Valencia and Yadira Mendoza - your information was given to us by Rosa as the general managers of the hotel, and we are looking forward to your response to make this right.
PERFECT Vacation- Go Go Go
This is our 2nd Fiesta Americana resort and they are officially our go to Vacation Resorts. Everything was perfect! The service was amazing, the food very good and the resort is just beautiful. With people being so worried about travel, the Resort is doing a GREAT job to make sure everything is clean and safe. The staff is ALWAYS wearing masks and always cleaning. They made sure everyone was safe and comfortable and always checked if everything was ok. EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN!!!! It was my Birthday Weekend and they asked me upon arrival and when it was my birthday 3 days later, I really thought they forgot they made sure to make it EXTRA SPECIAL! I'm really bad with names but from check-in to restaurants to the pool, EVERYONE offered the best service! Upgrade to CLUB level is so worth it. Already planning my next Fiesta Americana resort trip.
Exceeded our expectations!!
The hotel was very nice but the staff was wonderful!! Especially Liz the supervisor, Montse and Antonio. They were committed to make us feel great and definitely they did!! If you are hesitating to go because you may think is not safe because of the Covid-19 let me tell you that they are taking all the safety measures. The capacity of the hotel was 35%. It was a perfect time to go visit Cabo!!
