The resort is well maintained, rooms were clean. Staff were all very friendly and our room was upgraded as we are IHG Reward members. There isn't really a beach but there is sand with lounge chairs and a pier you can walk out on. I would have given this a four to five star review if it wasn't for the snake that swam in the pool and tried to follow us back to our room. The staff assured me it was a harmless snake but I am terrified of all snakes! If you are ok swimming and mingling with snakes, this would be a great resort.

Stayed 4 days and 3 nights. Some positives and negatives along the way. Coffee machine was broke when we arrived and could not be given a new one until 7:30am following day when room service arrived. Leak from under the sink on the 3rd day, was told not to use the sink and would get fixed in a few hours. Nothing complimentary at this hotel - was even told I would be charged for an individual butter packet. Beach set-up is not for swimming or wading out - very rocky/coral. Staff was friendly, especially at the restaurant. Golf course is within walking distance. They have a shuttle service that takes you along 7 mile beach that is convenient - stops at 6pm. Room was clean overall - could use some updates as it is pretty outdated. For the price I got ($800 total for 3 nights for a king room suite) was expecting a little more. I would probably choose to stay somewhere on 7 mile beach if I were to go again due to the better beach atmosphere and ease of getting to restaurants/nightlife.

Good for Super Budget Option
Stayed here since I had a free night before heading to the luxury IHG property on 7 Mile Beach. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The “resort” is exactly what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. Outdated, not the cleanest, and not in the best area. The grounds are very pretty for a HI. The rooms are no different than any location across the US. They do have an old pool and bar/restaurant. This is bay side so water is nasty and not what people may expect. Great place for your free IHG night with no unexpected up charge or fees. Great if your budget is low and want to get to Grand Cayman. It is close to most everything you want on the island.

May 11, 2025Solid Stay That Keeps Us Coming Back to Cayman
We’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Grand Cayman three times now, and it’s become our go-to spot on the island. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but for the price, it really delivers. Check-in is always easy, and the front desk staff actually remembered us after our first visit, which made it feel like coming home. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though they’re starting to show their age a bit. Luckily, the staff has always been quick to fix anything that needed attention. There’s a little shop in the lobby with snacks, drinks, and essentials, including beer and wine, which is super convenient. Depending on the season, there’s usually a concierge available too. The location is a bit tucked away, so if you want to explore the island fully, a rental car is a good idea. There is a shuttle that goes to most of the major spots, which is great, but if you’re out late, you’ll probably need to take a taxi back. Still, the value here makes that a fair trade in our book. The place really captures that resort feel. The pool is a nice size with plenty of seating, and the vibe is relaxed and easygoing. The beach out front isn’t really for swimming since it’s pretty rocky, but it’s a great place to hang out and watch the water. Water shoes help if you do want to go in. There’s a pier at the end that adds to the peaceful setting. If you’re looking for classic sandy beaches, the shuttle can take you to one on the west side that’s free and beautiful. The restaurant on site is genuinely great. The food is good, the prices are fair, and they’ve got live music and events on some nights. Even if we weren’t staying there, we’d still come back for a meal. The overall crowd tends to be more laid back. You’ll see more families here than at the high-end resorts, but it’s never been loud or chaotic. If you want a quiet getaway, you could easily spend your whole trip here and just leave for excursions. Most tours will pick you up directly, which makes it even easier. One thing to be aware of is the weather. We visited in August once and the humidity in the mornings was intense. Just stepping outside was a lot. It usually got better by late morning, but it wasn’t super pleasant early in the day. When we visited in February, the weather was much more comfortable, so we’d recommend that time of year if you have the choice. Overall, while the hotel isn’t perfect, the staff goes above and beyond to take care of guests and improve the property. That kind of effort is why we keep coming back

Amazing stay!!
Wasn't too sure what to expect and was slightly concerned that the hotel was a bit out of the way, but I needn't have been concerned at all! Yes, the hotel is slightly 'off the beaten track', but the hotel provides a free hourly shuttle bus with an amazingly kind and helpful driver - Tevita!! The rooms are spacious, very clean and most rooms seem to have some sort of sea view, which is a plus. The Driftwood bar offers a small but very tasty menu, the food was perfect. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about my 14 night stay and we will definitely return. Lastly, a special thank you to Renoir (front desk) and Colin the barman, from the £1,000 couple, forever grateful for your help!!!
