Hotel overview

Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, Florida. Its iconic design is a spectacular blend of Miami’s glamorous golden era and stylish modern luxury. A revered Miami Beach landmark for more than half a century, Morris Lapidus’ emblematic curvilinear building sets a new standard for business and pleasure. The 22-acre oceanfront Miami Beach hotel features signature restaurants by award-winning chefs; two chic nightlife venues; a two-story spa, a virtually endless poolscape, miles of pristine beach and state-of-the-art conference and event facilities. Even before it opened in 1954, Fontainebleau had a rich history shaped by the rapid expansion of the Miami area and its popularity with celebrities. That same persona lingers on and we have no intention of changing it.

    More of a party atmosphere

We stayed here in March when our cruise plans for spring break were canceled. The views from our rooms were stunning. A large pool area and easy beach access. Excellent on property dinning. It was probably not as family friendly as we would have hoped for. My wife and I had previously stayed here 20 years ago. The property has changed a lot in the intervening years. There was much more of a party atmosphere and not nearly as tranquil/peaceful.

    Pool bar

Had an amazing time at Fontainebleau! The pool is beautiful and the bartender Fabio made the trip even better! He makes the most amazing drinks and always gives us the best hospitality! :) definitely will be coming back

    Pool side cabana

The visit did not disappoint again. The pool staff is exceptional. Starting with cabana check-in being greeted with morning smiles and jokes. To Luis,John Paul,Jason setting up our beds and attentively checking on us throughout the days. Then the constant cabana bedside manner from the ladies over the whole week. Each one on top of their duties and paying careful attention to my family. I cant thank each one enough, even when I wasn't in their section they stopped by to say hello and check on us. Camille, Emily, Paola, Tatiana, Natalie were awesome and made it a special experience. We come 3 times a year and this was the first time I felt compelled to write a review. We have stayed at some of the nicest hotels from London to Seattle and this a 5 star experience all around.

Went on a girls trip and booked several rooms. We understood that this was a party hotel- that is what we were looking for! But when paying top rates for a hotel room we expected good service. The room has wet spots on the carpeting and hair in the shower upon arrival. At the pool the attendants wouldn’t help us find chairs and the bar staff at la cote was exceptionally rude, yet automated added 18% gratuity on top of $22 drinks. The wait at the beach for food/drinks was over and hour. We called down from our room one night to ask for a bottle opener - we had to call 5 times to get the opener and it took two hours. We even tried to go down to the lobby to get it ourselves and they wouldn’t just hand us one they said we had to wait for it to be delivered to our room. WILL NOT EVER RETURN

    This place is Amazing!!

This was our third visit to Fontainebleau - this time we brought the whole family. We rented two - one bedroom condos in Tresor Tower. Staff are amazing and promptly honor requests for towels, extra blankets and pillows and literally responded with a maintenance worker within about 10 minutes when we told them one of the toilets kept refilling (not a big deal, just a nuisance). The hotel was super quiet and rarely did we even see anyone in the halls. A bit of noise from the traffic below as the city rocks at night but it was spring break and there is nothing one can do about that. The pool area is really the best!! We rented a Supreme Cabana one day and an Opium bed another. Both are great but nothing beats the Cabana!! The staff at the pool are AMAZING. I can't say enough about them - especially Ronnie - he is an outstanding person!! He is kind and makes everyone feel special. Always a smile on his face and you never felt like you were bothering him by asking for clean towels, water or anything. He is truly an asset to Fontainebleau - ask for his section if you go down by the pool. At least meet him and say hi - he makes everyones day better. The cafe near the pool called Fresh - is a good way to get a quick bite to eat without paying the 18% fee, however the staff that work there are not very nice at all - very crabby - probably because they aren't getting the tips like the poolside staff. You can order the same stuff from the pool chairs (Fresh is only steps away) but you have to pay an 18% gratuity. The spa is awesome, the gym is nice to have available but not a ton of updated equipment or weights but enough to keep your beach bod in shape. Go to Fontaine Bleau - you won't regret it.
