Hotel overview
Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach, Florida. Its iconic design is a spectacular blend of Miami’s glamorous golden era and stylish modern luxury. A revered Miami Beach landmark for more than half a century, Morris Lapidus’ emblematic curvilinear building sets a new standard for business and pleasure. The 22-acre oceanfront Miami Beach hotel features signature restaurants by award-winning chefs; two chic nightlife venues; a two-story spa, a virtually endless poolscape, miles of pristine beach and state-of-the-art conference and event facilities. Even before it opened in 1954, Fontainebleau had a rich history shaped by the rapid expansion of the Miami area and its popularity with celebrities. That same persona lingers on and we have no intention of changing it.

Suspected sex trafficking & hotel staff is in on it!!!
I strongly advise that you never stay at the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami, especially if you’re alone and a woman. I came back from dinner late. It was around midnight when I heard someone picking at my door. At first I thought I was just being paranoid, but then I heard the noise again..I walk over to the door to look through the peephole & I see two people, who were dressed professionally. One had a laptop or some kind of machine, the other one kept playing with the door knob trying to turn it and get into the room. I call my bestfriend, who was staying there in another room and as I was on the phone with her telling her everything, they began to walk away. They didn’t seem in a hurry or anything, but I had the top and bottom locked so perhaps they gave up because they weren’t able to get access or they heard me on the phone. I call the guest services at the hotel & asked if they sent anyone up to my room. The lady seemed shocked but told me she would call the front desk and security to see what she can find out. She then tells me that they were doing a “digital maintenance” on my lock. I’m like why are y’all doing a digital maintenance on my lock? She says, that’s normal procedure and they do this frequently to ensure all locks are working properly. I’m like at midnight? And why am I the only room that’s getting this digital maintenance on my lock? She says idk ma’am and starts getting flustered. So at this point, couldn’t even trust the hotel or their staff. I pack all my things and go sleep in my best friend’s room because I was scared for my safety & I felt like they were involved in sex trafficking or something shady was definitely going on. I spoke to the manager the next morning & he told me that usually the digital maintenance is done between 9am-11am. So I question again, why were they there at midnight? He proceeds to tell me that it must have been an emergency. My thing is my keycard was working fine and I never called to report any issues so what possible emergency could it be? They waived a hotel fee and that’s it. He was very dismissive throughout the whole time I was explaining to him what happened. Kept interacting with other guests, waving and smiling in the middle of me explaining everything. He definitely didn’t even care what happened, but kept saying “I understand” If there was an “emergency” why wouldn’t you inform me that you’re coming to my room at MIDNIGHT!? Why are you doing digital maintenance on locks while ppl have that room reserved?? They’re definitely NOT to be trusted!!! Also, the rooms are way outdated, even their suites. My friends had issues with hot water and the rooms looked pretty unsanitary

Sorrento Tower Corner Penthouse Suite
This was my second stay at Fontainebleau within a year. Both times, the check-in was much longer than expected either because of just one desk representative or my room not being ready. I was given a lounge pass if I need a refresher/shower as I waited for my room. My first stay was in a junior suite for my birthday and I was treated like a Queen by staff. With the exception of the female bar server with a European accent at Arcadia grill who was not helpful in allowing me to purchase dessert 30 mins prior to closing. She didn’t care it was my birthday, lol she just wanted to be done with her shift, smh. When I saw her on my second visit she was just as rude. Maybe just her personality. She didn’t ruin my experience though, we ate delicious food at her bar and tipped well anyway. On this recent visit we stayed in a Sorrento Tower corner penthouse and it was amazing! It was a huge suite with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, two bathrooms, and 3 balconies. It was romantic at night and we felt safe throughout the resort. The staff at Lapis spa were welcoming and the spa itself was relaxing especially the rainfall benches, sauna and pool, but my facial/massage was just ok. Room service was pricey as expected but was tasty and delivered hot. We had no living room tv the first night after calling for hours, maintenance finally arrived late into the evening to repair. Suite was cleaned everyday, bed was comfy, and the views were dreamy! You’ll need some patience with the breakfast buffet lines at Zida, which was overpriced and a pain because of what seemed to be staff shortage on cooks. The beach was picturesque and not too crowded but we witnessed a family realize they’d been pickpocketed inside of their day bed, so be careful not to bring valuables to the beach. Housekeeping was friendly, doormen/luggage staff was kind with smiles, and the concierge desk was very helpful in answering my many questions. Finally, eating at LaCote is a must!

Amazing!
We had a great time at the beach with Haley being so helpful and really friendly and very informative. Would definitely recommend the cocktails and the fruit selection. The beach was busy but the service was quick and efficient and good choice of loungers and cabana’s.
