The Hawaiian Canoe Experience teaches guests Hawaiian traditions while offering a fun adventure. Participants learn the basics of paddling, as well as the history of the canoe and its importance to Hawaiian heritage. Used by native Hawaiians to cross the rough channels between the islands, the outrigger canoe was built out of koa and other hard native woods. Not only an instrument of fishing and sustenance gathering, the outrigger became the long distance means by which Hawaiians, and the greater Polynesian society projected both settlements and conquests. The Hawaiian Canoe Experience fills up quickly and advanced reservations are required.
However you choose to spend your time, be sure to open your mind and your heart to the Hawaiian culture. Hawaiians believe that we need to be conscious and grateful of all the things around us: our health, our family, and nature. The incredible culture is based on the fundamental principles of love, support, hospitality, and giving without the expectation of receiving.

Another great trip to Wailea!
This was our second visit here, and I was reminded of how much I love it. The rooms are so nice and spacious with plenty of space for our family of four to spread out and sleep comfortably. The pool and the beach are both perfect when we don't feel like venturing out anywhere. We swam in the ocean every morning and often could see turtles and fish just off of the beach. The kids love the slide and the many pools and the ability to bounce back and forth from beach to pool all day. Us parents spent a lot of time at the pool bar. The staff up there are top notch. Kris, Noe, Noel and Nick were amazing all week with new drinks to try and good conversation. Leko was great around the pool area. We met him on our first day, and he greeted us by name every morning after that. They seem to genuinely enjoy talking with the guests and sharing stories and travel tips. All of the food at the resort is fairly pricey, but we didn't have anything we didn't like. Grabbing items from the Market is a good way to save a few bucks - great pizza, actually. We especially loved the happy hour poke wonton dish up at the pool bar/Ama. Overall, it is a hard place to beat when it comes to vacation. Thanks to the staff that make it so great! See you again soon!

Maui Majesty
My wife and I had an amazing vacation at the Fairmont Kea Lani! It gave us memories that will last a lifetime. The staff at the Fairmont is beyond hospitable. They greet you at each arrival, give recommendations on local attractions, and cater to any need! When I got sick, they even sent up chicken noodle soup without me even asking. The rooms here are beautiful! They are all spacious suites with nice balconies. You’ll love seeing sunsets over the beach! The pools are quite nice too. You may need to arrive early to find a chair, but we were always able to get one. The location in Wailea is top notch. There are many delicious restaurants and sandy beaches nearby. The hotel even offers a free shuttle in the area. The food at this hotel is a bit overpriced for the quality. Nick’s Fishmarket is delicious and worth the price, but the room service and poolside options are lacking. We fully recommend this hotel. It is big, but manageable to get around. Staying here will make for an unforgettable vacation option for both couples and families! We can’t wait to go back.

Great hotel - but could be better
Great hotel. Easy check in process upon arrival. Room was spacious, bathroom well laid out. Shower pressure was ok. Breakfast options exceptional, and service very good. Great gym on property - good size and equipment. Areas of potential improvement - renovation was ongoing for main restaurant when we visited. Not a complaint but there was a fair amount of noise due to renovation work. Adult pool is a nice touch but limited seating and towels on seats early (when nobody shows up) is a poor look overall.

Our Favorite Family Vacation Spot!
We are just writing to send our sincerest thanks for the amazing hospitality and service. Specifically, we wanted to acknowledge two folks: - Mary Jane in Housekeeping was just fantastic. Hard working, thorough, and so, so kind - The team at the pool/cabana shop are fantastic - I also wanted to mention the staff at the coffee/ice cream shop. They’re always so courteous, smiley, and nice. Our kids love it there.

Outstanding!
Hands down one of the best and most beautiful hotels I ever stayed at. It's pricy but comes with so many things that's not common in other places. They have water and towels in the lobby for when you are taking a trip. Laundry is free and on every floor. Of course sunblock and cooling creams amongst other things. The grounds were breath taking. We stayed in the signature double bed suite, ocean view and it was spacious with anything a family would need to stay comfortably.
