    Stunning Hotel

Stunning hotel in a beautiful area. I was there for a Charity Golf Tournament. The golf course was incredible. Grand Social lawn was the perfect location for pre and post golf receptions.

    Happy guests!

Wonderful, beautiful property with a staff that is customer service oriented. There isn’t much not to like, restaurant menu was a touch limited but all good food. We will return.

Lovely hotel with too many issues

The Grand Del Mar is a lovely hotel. We had a suite which was large and well appointed. It could use a refresh as the carpeting is a bit worn and is starting to show its age. One of the lamps did not work correctly. Everything at the hotel is very expensive. We don’t have a problem with that but we do have expectations to match the price. They are clearly understaffed as a request for slippers, which should have been in the room, took over an hour. It takes several tries at times to get someone to answer the phone. We played golf at their golf course. $330++ per person. The caddie was the worst caddie we have ever had. It took a very long time to get food at the turn even though we ordered on the golf cart . The staff at the restaurant at the golf course were rude and condescending. The golf course was not in very good condition and one of the holes was closed. When booking the tee time no one mentioned that. A few other examples of how expensive it is. $70 per day to valet park. Self parking is not available. $6.00 for a cup of coffee. You get the point. We don’t mind paying these prices but we do then expect to have a 5 star experience. All in, we had a nice stay, but for the money it did not meet expectations. We will not be back.
