Would not return EVER!
You fired all of the bell boys, and it sucked for us handicapped. When we arrived, there was no one to help with our luggage. The Royal Tower required complete renovation. The toilet plugged 2 times and overflowed once. The room smelled when we arrived. The bed needs to be higher for the handicapped. The shower was a disaster to all, slippery as heck, needs a mat, had to put down towels so as not to slip, and your liability! . The pool and jacuzzi closed at 7 pm My wife is a corporate travel agent, and I was a strategic consultant for Fortune 100 firms. Trust us, we have stayed in many properties, and this was one of the worst.

run down Vegas hotel.
Hotel is in a great location. Rooms do not seem to have been updated in decades. Furniture chipped. Pop corn ceilings. No fridge in room. Our room smelled of smpke. Pool was large but disappointing. No standup bar or slots. No shade around pool. Rooms were cheap.

Okay if you are on a budget
Overall, a safe stay. Rooms are tired and maintained minimally. Security is okay. Like many Vegas establishments, the Excalibur is showing its age and definitely on its way out. Without doubt, it too will be razed in the very near future to make-way for the contemporary. It is on far southern end of the strip, so be prepared for lots of walking to take-in the strip.

solid middle of the road iconic casino with good value
I booked on a summer 2025 sale and felt I got good value at a $75 daily rate in the Royal Tower (resort fees included). Compared to the Luxor adjacent to this hotel, where I have stayed before, I preferred the Excalibur. I felt the rooms were better maintained, and it’s location on the strip to be more convenient. The elevator situation in the Luxor pyramid was frustratingly slow and run down. The Excalibur lifts were fast and efficient. There was security posted at all the elevators and the card system to get to your floor was effective. Even though the hotel markets itself as a family resort, I was on a solo trip and did not feel out of place or bothered by kids. I enjoyed the pool area, which was large and clean and had good music piped in. Kids were separated in another oolong with a water slide. I enjoyed the somewhat limited food court on the second floor, Which served its purposes for me. I would give this property a thumbs up, knowing that my realistic expectations were not that for a luxury high-end resort, but for a middle of the road property.
