    TAX Exempt not honored

The hotel and staff were very kind. The room was perfect. However, let me give you a warning. I travel for my work from time to time and it happens to be government. As such, we are allowed tax exemption. We are required to present a tax exempt form upon check in and state tax is then removed from our bill On this occasion, I called the front desk of the hotel and explained that I needed a room and that it would be tax exempt. They replied: No problem just bring your tax exempt form with you. They then asked me to hold while they connected me with the reservations department. I was transferred and made my reservation. Again, I explained that it was tax exempt and was told the same thing to bring my form. I gave my credit card information, which is standard. When I arrived at check-in, the clerk told me that there was no way to have the tax taken off, as the room had already been charged. He called for a manager and she explained that the person who initially took my call should have never told me to just bring the tax form. She further explained that their front desk does not make reservations and that I was most likely transferred to Hilton corporation. She stated that the room rate I was given was an advance pay rate and that was the reason for their being no way for them to remove the taxes. She suggested that I call the Hilton corporate office and make my case with them. I did call corporate and received the same response. While the dollar amount is not outrageous, I still had to face the auditors in my home county. I say all this to warn anyone going to our states capitol on government business to stay in a hotel that honors the tax exempt form on the front end.

    First time in Nashville

Checked out a lot of hotels online, settled on the embassy suites Vanderbilt #1- I wanted to be downtown, but downtown prices where higher & the shuttle brings you there & back #2- there's a lot of places to eat & drink near the hotel Once we got there very helpful and friendly front desk, nice large rooms, open atrium layout Evening social hour, great breakfast in the morning. I would like to give a shout out to the manager Hannah, very nice, friendly & made us feel welcome & all of the staff, breakfast, evening, shuttle staff Would definitely stay again

Hilton Customer Service should be named CUSTOMERS DON"T MATTER TO US. So don't fill out surveys because we don't care...

We have stayed at this property several times in the past year, as my wife had major surgery at Vanderbilt. The property is conveniently located near the hospital. They give you a better rate IF you know to ASK and tell them that you're staying because of medical reasons. Like I mentioned we have stayed there several times this past year. If you check in virtually they will let you select your room and will send you the key electronically on your phone, you have to use this key to get into the parking garage if you are self parking. Only one problem the E key does not work and has not worked ever when we have stayed there. I mentioned this to the front desk staff on my last visit because when you approach the gate at the garage if you can not get in you have to backup into Main Street traffic, and this time someone came in behind me, so they had to back up to let me out. The front desk agent said when I told him what happened. "Oh yea that gate never works with the E key" as he chuckled. So once we went to our room it was around 5:30 pm the room had a very musty smell, so my wife went to the front desk and asked for a can of lysol and a extra bed sheet and pillow. The clerk said "Oh it's after 5:00 and housekeeping has gone home for the day, So No I can't get those for you". We went back down and asked the same clerk for an extra sheet and pillow, he turned around went in the back and came out with a sheet and pillow.?? When we opened the sheet it was a crib sheet and it was soiled. So we went to our car and got our own sheets. The next morning when I took a shower I grabbed a towel and it was dirty, went through the others and found one that seemed to be clean. After checking out electronically and arrived home I checked my bill and found that I was billed twice for self parking, once for$37.00 and a second time for $40.42. I called the property and the clerk that I spoke with said "Oh yea that happens all the time" if you pay for parking when you reserve the room we just bill you upon check out so it's a good thing you check your bill". WHAT THE H__L. Really. So I get a survey a few days later I fill it out and they send me a response. Thank you for participating in our Stay Survey at the Embassy suites by Hilton Nashville at Vanderbilt.we are very sorry to hear of your experience. The feedback you have shared with our team is instrumental in ensuring that the hotel improves on their commitment to provide a positive experience. should you need anything further relative to case #233318317 ,please reply to this email. Well I replied to the email and they sent me another email. That said "We apologize for the experience faced. Please provide the conformation number of the booking or the full name of the hotel, check in and check out and the primary guest's name for us to locate your reservation". I did all od that and more ,they never have contacted me.

    Perfect hotel in many ways

This entire hotel was wonderful. The bed was comfortable. The employees were all awesome, especially te drivers of the shuttle. The breakfast items were always fresh and hot. Yes, there a a small hot tub inside the exercise room that is hot and working. (Not as hot and strong as I prefer but…). There is a nice outdoor sitting area off the end of the 3rd floor hallway that seems like it would be a great area to relax in in good weather. Many great restaurants within a block or two to walk to. The free shuttle will take you down to just a block from the Ryman theater. And pick you back up there too.

Big place, open atrium, better breakfast than most. Use Digital Key.

Was in town for a one day meeting and wanted something near the highway but not a highway hotel. This fit the bill. The parking situation makes using the digital key a must. Otherwise you will spend your arrival going up and down elevators and walking in and out as guest parking is floor 3 and higher in the garage, but you can't enter the hotel without a key. A good thing but a need to know as well. My room was nice. Clean, comfortable, and newly appointed. TVs were newer and the Internet was fast. Only complaints were the mattress needed turning (the dreaded bathroom side dip) and the HVAC was either non-functioning or just noisy as heck while trying to work. Also a bit of road noise for an 11th floor room. Breakfast was better than most Embassy Suites. More selections and better prepared. Kudos to the chef and staff.
