Riverfront View was the Only Positive Thing About this Stay
We stayed for one night at the property while celebrating a college roommate’s milestone birthday on the Sunday before Labor Day. The Hilton Honors Diamond Member upgraded room had a very nice view of the riverfront. While we experienced a couple of issues that were all addressed by the hotel staff, I would not select the hotel on a future visit to the area. After getting to our room we immediately wedged the luggage cart into the door to air the room because my roommates’ allergies kicked in (we traveled together all weekend and stayed at a Hilton property in Louisville with no issues). This was noticed by JB and he was on it. He asked us to give him 30 minutes to make it right. We returned to the room much later and JB was nearby to ensure we were ok. My morning hygiene routine was interrupted by having to fight with the shower drain stop that would not stay open resulting in water filling the tub while showering. After my shower, I began to clean the tub for my roommate and as I was cleaning, I began scrubbing what looked like a ring above the water line AND it was a ring so who knows when the tub was last efficiently cleaned. At check-out, I shared this and also showed the representative a picture of the mold in the bathroom that I’d only noticed that morning. He apologized and graciously comped our parking $10/night and fifty-percent of the room rate. Based on this experience, I know this is not indicative of Hilton, but with so many other Hilton options, I’m likely to try another instead of this property. I did not rate "terrible" because I do want to acknowledge the willingness of the staff to correct communicated issues.
Good but could be great
Love the location and I always love Embassy Suites. At street level, you need to go up 1.5 floors to the lobby. There is a separate elevator for this as well as the garage. Once checked in, you drive to the garage under the hotel where you have to carry your luggage up a half flight of stairs to get back to the elevator that you used to get to the lobby to check in. Then over to the main elevators to get to the room. The rooms are pretty much a standard Embassy Suite room. Nothing special and a bit tired. The river views are super nice. Due to COVID, evening reception was limited with drink coupons to 2 beers or 1 wine which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast only a grab and go bag. Both of these need to be back to normal even during COVID. I think this is just a cost savings to the hotel that they can blame on the pandemic. Good bars and restaurants near by. I wish the hotel bar was open as I would have patronized but I had to leave the hotel to have a drink and dinner.
Would never stay here again nor recommend this hotel.
We came traveling from a long car ride with our children and arrived around 11pm, or I would have left that night, but it was too late to make other arrangements with small children. My children were even so disgusted they had to wear their sandals to walk on the floor it was so disgusting. The room smelled moldy and was awful. There were stains on the carpet, in multiple places; we could not get any cold water from either the utility sink or the bathroom. The toilet paper dispenser was falling out of the wall. Half of the lights did not work and we even had to use our own blanket, as the pull out bed blanket was so smelly. When I requested the GM information in the morning, stating I wanted to complain about our awful experience and that I was checking out, despite being booked for 2 more days, the person didn't even ask why or apologize. They simply said the GM is not here, and I asked for their number, and they wrote a number down on a piece of paper without providing the name. I would have asked for another room but with Covid and 3 small children we did not want to expose them anymore, and to think I was going with a reputable brand to be safe - NEVER AGAIN, and being a Hilton Honors member means nothing.
Bathroom had hair all over floor
Poorest experience ever with an Embassy Suites. Embassy is normally our :go to" hotel and we are willing to pay more to stay at an Embassy. Not this one. Bathroom was not clean, carpet ripped in room, hotel did not receive online check in, digital cards worked at first then stopped working.
Newport Aquarium Weekend
Great weekend with the family to Newport Aquarium was a blast and the Embassy Suites Cincinnati Rivercenter was just awesome. Stayed two nights great rooms and service you had to wear a mask while in the hotel but other than that it was great.
