    Horrible experience.

Horrible experience. Tried checking in early. They kept saying it's not ready yet. They said we can pay $50 to check in early but then said oh the rooms not ready. The room we had was so old and out dated. Went to the pool a little after 9am. The doors were still not open. Pop machines were not working. Was not happy this time at all. Will not be staying here again. I will say the bell desk is the only positive thing I have. Great guys there and very helpful.

    Very disappointed

We just checked out of the El Dorado Casino and Resort in Reno and, unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the experience. Upon our arrival, we were unable to check in early without incurring a $35 fee, even though we arrived just four minutes before the designated 3 PM check-in time. When we returned after 3 PM, our room was still not ready, which was quite confusing. If they were willing to charge for early check-in, it raised questions about the availability of rooms. After a frustrating wait for an email notification that never arrived, we decided to approach the front desk in person. The staff were apologetic and did upgrade us from a smoking to a non-smoking room, which, while appreciated, left me puzzled as to how that could be considered an upgrade. The view from our "deluxe" king room was disappointing; we were greeted with a concrete wall rather than the scenic vista one might expect and promised as an upgrade. Additionally, we found that five restaurants were closed and not a single bar was open, leading us to seek dinner at the Peppermill instead. The overall atmosphere of the El Dorado felt dated, with an unpleasant odor reminiscent of old cologne. The limited dining options were frustrating, as the only available choices were Japanese cuisine or doughnuts. It's no surprise that we saw many guests ordering takeout from other establishments, including fast food. We did manage to have lunch at Brews Brothers in the Silver Legacy, which was decent, though the beer was warm and I found a hair in my hamburger. I chose not to raise the issue because the service was good. We also noticed that the escalators were barricaded due to being out of order, and several closed restaurants lacked any signage to inform guests. There was a clear lack of communication regarding these closures, which added to our frustration. Having previously worked at the El Dorado, I remember it as a premier destination, and it was disheartening to see how far it has declined. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I left feeling that the resort is in need of significant improvement. We will not be back. Next time- Peppermill.

Fantastic Suite along with the best sevice ever

From the moment Dennis at the front desk assisted me with checking in to our suite, the 6 night stay was great. Everyone we came in contact with during our stay was friendly and helpful. That is saying a lot - not one person gave us the brush off! One of the great experiences we had was meeting Aaron (bartender) and Trinity (server) at Vito's Lounge. They are both so nice, friendly, and we never had to wait long for a drink. They are both top shelf and it was our pleasure to go to Vito's for morning coffee with bailey's and play video poker along with great conversation from them both. I highly recommend the Premium Suite which is very spacious, great views, comfy robes and slippers, and the jacuzzi was terrific. Of the Caesar's properties I have stayed at around the country, this one is far the best in service and friendliness. Thank you for making my milestone birthday one I will always remember with as huge smile and fond memories.

    Clearing up the smoke screen.

We read a review saying that the Casino was smoke free and we made arrangements for two nights as the wife and I like to play video poker. Upon arrival in the lobby we noticed the strong smell of cigarette smoke and upon inquiring, smoking is allowed in the Casino - but we were assured our room was smoke free. I told the receptionist that we wanted to spend time gambling in the Casino, not in our room - thus the wife and I agreed to drive back to Pleasanton that afternoon cancelling our mini vacation. - - Now looking for a truly smoke free Casino.
