UVC members will be disappointed, this resort just can't get it together.
Staff was nice (poolside Veronica and waiter Jonathan are awesome) but this resort falls short of the Dreams brand that we have stayed at many times. Examples are as follows; Inaccurate times of available services on their own website, such as a sushi lounge and bar (Gohan) that was closed all 7 days, and 24 hr room service that ends at 11pm. Coco Cafe claims 24 hr service that is not as well. Some of this is in very small print on their website.... just change your website and be upfront about it. The wine cellar is not open or available. About half of the food options that are open are available every day, so prepare for food redundancy. A buffet that "opens" at one time, but no employees start serving food for 10 more minutes. Security (from shared condominium property) that constantly complains about drinking alcohol from a plastic glasses while in the pool despite them serving you poolside. Other Dreams have swim up bars! A preffered lounge that is nothing more than a desk and a dresser by the elevators on the 7th floor over looking the parking lot. In no way is this a "private lounge" and there is no "special beach access" .... from the 7th floor.... Of our 2 rooms, one AC barely worked and the other was amazing. The repair man said it works because the air coming out is cooler than outside air. Clearly something was wrong and not being fixed. Inconsistet alcohol availability at the bars, coincidently the better the alcohol the more likely they were out and did not restock the next day. And a pool that is in poor shape with cracks and missing tiles are all examples of not meeting Dreams standards. The Jr Ocean View suites are nice, but for those wanting more you do not have that option due to the better Ocean Front rooms being owned by a condo association. If you are a UVC member, skip this resort without question, it is not worth your time and money.
Thanks for all your smiles, good service, excellent customer service oriented and your kindness for our family. Great hotel for family and friends We enjoy this 5 days with security Thanks Carmen Martinez (pool area) Gerardo (drinks pool) Elizabeth Ramos (world cafe)
Great, Relaxing Vacation in Mexico Sun
To start--yes, traveling to a resort now is a lot different than it was a few years ago, so I am keeping that in mind when writing this review. We stayed at Secrets in PV 2 years ago and found this resort to be similar. Although Dreams allows children + we visited during Spring Break, the resort currently has a lower occupancy, so we never felt like our trip was impeded by that. The beach at Dreams is cleaner and has less locals selling items. Most evenings we took in the sunsets while walking down the beach w/ cocktails in hand. Really liked the option of multiple pools--it seemed like certain times of day there were more kids in one pool or another, so we just moved to another one. The highlights -- Every staff member was so warm and gave us 5-star treatment. Jose went above and beyond in every interaction. Also Margarita and Viktor were wonderful. The spa was really beautiful and the technician who did my massage (Aurelia) was exceptional. Nora did a deep tissue massage for my husband that made him feel so much better! We went to Rhythms of the Night (excursion through Vallarta Adventures) which was a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend! Some downsides -- with Covid and the lower occupancy, there were far less restaurants open. There were times we were hungry and didn't know where to eat. We never got to experience the Sushi restaurant on the top floor which is said to be amazing. The gym was closed while we were there (which I used as an excuse not to work out, haha). It was my birthday trip, so I had let the resort know ahead of time. They were very accommodating to try to make it a nice experience, but it fell short a couple times. We were supposed to have a private chef dinner one evening, but the chef never made an appearance. Also a staff member suggested that they wanted to send up a bottle of champagne to celebrate for my bday. I waited around for a while, but the bottle never showed up. Not a huge complaint, but I wouldn't have had that expectation otherwise. A lot of my cons I think will be mitigated when the resort is busier and there is more staff. Overall the resort is beautiful, the staff was so kind and fun and it was the perfect first vacation in a year and a half! We can't wait for our next trip at an AM resort!
Had a great time for the few short days we were there. They have amazing people that work for them, great service all around. Relaxing at the pool and had personnel approach multiple times to ask if we needed anything. :) Commenting for victor, tere, Eva, Adrian, Ketzali, Manuelito.
Dreams Villamagna was a fantastic place tp stay with my friend on our first trip to Mexico. The food was delicious and the pool was a perfect way to spend the sunny days! The staff always added a personal touch to the experience, especially Victor, Tere, Eva, Adrian, Ketzali, and Manuelito.
