Dreams Riviera Cancun is good couple get away
Dreams Riviera Cancun is a small nice resort and good for couples get away. They have daily activities and nightly entertainments. The bike tour was a nice get away. Wish we can a little more time to explore Puerto Morelos. The workers work really hard and do a good job of keeping place clean and nice. As we walk the resort we see them cleaning and maintaining area constantly. The bell boy knows us by name when he walk pass each time. I think server name was Cimichi at Oceana on 9/20/21 was very good. My husband requested lots of ice and he got lots. Our drinks were refilled without us asking. He even brought out spicy chili for us without us asking for its. Erik at World Cafe was really good also. He always alert and aware of what we may need and attentive. Good things about resort 1. Very nice and comprehensive app called AMR collections (search YouTube for video) 2. No wristbands needed. Not sure how they differentiate premier members? 3. No meal reservations needed 4. Rooms are pretty updated 5. Most Staff are very friendly and helpful 6. Very small resort: able to get everywhere by foot very easily. 7. Nice beach view Things they can improve on: 1. Only places to eat breakfast at is World Cafe Buffet. They have little Coco Cafe and room services available. 2. They work hard on making presentations very nice and it does look good but food taste was ok.
Tried a new resort in Puerto Morelos and we're thrilled to have a new favorite resort and extended family. We were there last week (9/11 - 9/18) and it exceeded our expectations. The property is extremely clean, inviting and well cared for and the entire staff was attentive, helpful and engaging. Here's a run down of our experiences / staff: Arrival - we booked a preferred suite and upon arrival Rubi recognized who we were once I said our name and quickly ushered us to the lounge for check in. We were warmly greeted by Itzel who was just lovely. Itzel helped ensure we had an amazing room, had Johnathan make some drinks quickly and helped us to our room within 45min of being at the resort. Bartenders - wow, SO many to recognize!! ARI - beach/beach bar, what a incredible person whose genuine love of his job and care for people is infectious. Ari single handedly made our vacation and moves so fast it's crazy. Also at the beach bar were Jose and Danielito! Those guys were a barrel of laughs and super fun. Up by the infinity pool, make sure you ask for Vicente and Hugo. Again, fun and attentive and always on the move. At the swim up bar, find Carlos and you'll be well taken care of. Up at the lobby bar, Enrique has a memory that's phenomenal. Concierge support - both Daniel and Ernesto catered to us constantly and made us feel as though we were their only guests. They ensured anything we wanted was available and helped coordinate a number of special experiences for us. Sommeliers - we worked regularly with Alonso who beyond his wine expertise, he's an incredible chef!! Working with him were Paulo and Daniel who also made our various dinners special and memorable. And yes, the room we had was spectacular and the food was very good. Certainly visit Bordeaux, Himitsu and Oceana. We actually have to eat gluten free due to have celiac disease and they went overboard making certain we were safe. Last but not least, the General Manager, Senor Rafael Cordova. Besides the regular compliments offered, unsolicited, by his team about his dedication to his team and his guests, Senor Cordova ensured our stay left a lasting impression. Suffice it to say....our new favorite.
Sit back and relax otherwise a taxi ride to town will cost $20.00 u.s .
The hotel is kept spotless and the staff are all obliging . The drinks are plentiful (watered down ) and the food is readily had . (Average at best) The swimming pools are big and clean yet most of the tourists are sitting on the lounges. Unless you look at the swim up bars . Your dollar buys you more in the Dominican Republic but then again it’s not Mexico !
Over promised and under delivered
Facts: No alcohol after 11pm I receive an email offering me, and I quote, “USD 400 resort credit per room, per stay.”Upon arrival and excitement to redeem at resort, I was later explained it was a discount book with a potential savings of $400. This discount book is very selective on where and what you can use it for and only use it in increments of $10, $20, or $60 at a time. They only allow 2 people (with reservation) at a time at the spa (unless you have a purchased massage)… how is this possible when they have hundreds of guest and rooms at this resort? Experiences: We had multiple friends at the resort on different floors and areas of the buildings. At times during the night (midnight-2:30am) we would be in our jacuzzi or hanging out in each other’s rooms being a little loud (not gonna lie). In each instance, not even exzagerating, we received a call from the hotel saying they have received complaint(s). EVERY SINGLE TIME. Mind you we are all in different floors or areas of the resort… I just find it a little hard to believe that we all had cranky neighbors. I saw multiple times their staff just walking through the hall ways patrolling (no joke, I waited to see if he was going into a room but he was just going back and forth). I understand we were a little loud and I apologize for that but I can’t wrap my head around all these complains in everyone’s rooms… yet, they can start music and events at 8:00 am… It woke me up every morning… Daneila’s ceviche class by the pool was amazing! Her energy was amazing and did a great job at teaching us how to make ceviche. Santos from the breakfast buffet provided excellent service and made my experience memorable! Hydration spa was a fun unique experience The only place we could find “top shelf” tequila (don julio) was in the preferred lounge Opinions: El Patio had mediocre Mexican food (especially the fajitas). I was at a catered dinner and they also had fajitas which were much better than the ones from the menu… guess we have to pay to get the best fajitas around here… Liquor is water down. The waiters, bartenders, and most staff were extremely respectful and attentive. I loved them! They made me feel important! The breakfast buffet was really good! I am not a buffet kind of person but this buffet does not disappoint! Jorge the massage amazing All in all, I had a great time because of my friends and us making it fun and not letting the little things get to us. It’s a bummer and human nature for certain things to make it feel like it wasn’t that great of an experience.
El Patio Restaurant Review
We just finished our dinner meal at El Patio, one of several ethnic themed restaurants available. Our server Esquivel was super friendly and professional and accommodating. Actually all service professionals throughout the resort have been really great. It was the POBLANO CREAM SOUP from Chef Ivan that prompted this review. It is the bomb! It is simply prepared but rich and complex. It is perfect. We asked for Chef Ivan to come out so we could met him and he graciously agreed and described how to make the recipe. 5 stars. Thanks.
