Portofino Italian Restaurant, Dreams resort Cabo San Lucas.
Portofino Italian restaurant is the best restaurant at Dreams resort Cabo San Lucas. All dishes were excellent and the steak was high quality. Carlos is an amazing chef. The service was also excellent, and staff were helpful, especially Humberto. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Portofino restaurant yummy
Portofino restaurant at the resort was delicious. Service from Humberto was great. So sweet and very cute! Chef Carlos did an amazing job on the steak, fettuccine, pizzas, asparagus soup, and tiramisu. Definitely go at least once during your stay at Dreams!

Great family friendly trip
Great resort. Friendly, attentive and accommodating service. Property was small enough to make traversing easy. Kids club great. Andy and the rest of the team were fantastic. Was hard to pull the kids away from it at some points during the trip because they were having so much fun, which gave us a nice balance of adult and family time. Restaurants were easy to get into, pool and beach also great. Would definitely return and would recommend.

Incredible Staff
Incredible Entertainment Team and wait staff. Humberto at Portafino was incredible with his recommendations and attentiveness. Jesus and Cristo by the main pool were also very attentive and friendly. Manuel on the Entertainment team was incredibly engaging and friendly. We had the best time playing volleyball, water aerobics and bingo with him.

Had a lot of issues with the rooms
When we first arrived we were very impressed. We were greeted with cool towels and champagne. We had to wait for our rooms to be ready but that was understandable. When we returned after 3:00 pm we were taken to our room. The smell down that area was terrible. It was on the lower level and they said they had been working on something. We had to step over some hoses. The room smelled terrible also. We tried covering it up with spray but it didn't go away. It gave me a terrible headache. The next day we told them about it and they offered to move us. They did so after 3:00 pm. We were moved the fourth floor. It had a terrible view but I just wanted a room that did not stink. They provided a free bottle of champagne. We were tired that evening and when we went to shower there was no hot water. We tried calling the desk but the phone did not work! They sent someone to fix it but she had to replace it. We had cold showers and finally ordered room service at 9:30 pm and it finally arrived at about 10:15 pm. They had sent someone to fix the shower but the next day the handle of the water faucet fell off. They offered to move us yet again. We were upgraded to a large suite with two rooms. It had a great view. The shear curtains were off the track in the bedroom. Lots of little things just not very nice. All of the restaurants were slow and seemed short handed. The best meal we had was the last night on the terrace. It was excellent. The waiters and staff were all very nice. Especially the ones by the pool. That was the best part of the resort. They need to fix up some of the rooms. I realize I only saw three of them but all three had issues. They did try to make up for it and for that I am appreciative. They also need to hire more staff. Oh and the elevator broke down twice when we were on it. Nothing major I guess but it would only open and close- not go up and down like it is supposed to. I don't think I ever really got to speak to a "manager" as I requested just a head concierge. The other nice thing was the painting class. Our instructor Angel and John were great. I actually painted the arch of Cabo and it turned out great. I can't draw a stick figure normally so that was impressive. There was an emergency in the buffet area one morning. The hotel DR was present but left the emergency to go get his bag and get gloves!!! Crazy!!!! I think the poor man might have died if it had not been for the quick thinking of my son and daughter-in-law that are trained in the heimlich maneuver. I would give the rooms a one star, the food a three star and the waiters (pool area especially) a five star. The concierge tried their best to fix our issue so I would give them a four star. Other than all that we had a wonderful time with our family but I don't think any of us really want to stay at Dreams there again. We expect better out of a resort that claims to be really nice. We had a blast going into town, seeing the arch, shopping and eating in town. I can only give the resort a three star due to having to move three times.
