Day 1 of trip
Decided to write a review each day of our restaurant experiences as well as overall service. Day 1 was a perfect 5 of 5. Arrived at 3:00 and the check in was as easy as any I’ve experienced. The beach is beautiful, met Jesus and Ricardo who do excursions and they were fantastic. Had dinner at the Patio, service was incredible and the food was excellent. Had Pozole, Mole, and the Squid toast. Had drinks before at the preferred lounge and the old fashioned was wonderful. Room was clean and cool.

Solid family all inclusive, even just before the corporate change over
The resort was nice but not the quality I would expect from Hyatt inclusive. The staff was all great, and very friendly and accommodating. We traveled with a group of twelve including kids and after some initial struggles with the no reservations policy for dinners, the concierge was able to help us get in the books for restaurants so the kids could eat before 8p. Pools were great, food and drinks was standard all inclusive. Rooms and beds were nice but probably about due for a refresh. This resort will no longer be Hyatt after May 2025, so things maybe a different story once the resort reopens under the Marriott brand. Location is remote so don’t expect easy access to much off property without an hour drive.

Lovely Resort in North West Costa Rica
This was our first visit to Costa Rica as we've been travelling to either Cancun area or Punta Cana regularly since 2013 (2 adults and 2 children aged 12-10 in our group). Firstly, this is a lovely resort with nice geography and landscaping and onsite wildlife like monkeys and it nice and quite (not a big party area) which we liked. The only drawback of the location is it's very far from where the jungle tour excursions are and the worst part is the road leading the resort from the main North/South Road (about 30 min ride) is awfully bumpy- i mean way worse than I've seen in Mexico and Dominica Republic. Given the hotel and some beaches are really the only thing at the end of this road, the hotel should spend some of their profits fixing it up. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with back or neck issues mainly due to drive. The pool decks are extremely slippery when wet, you basically need foot ware at all times and there's some tiny little signs on the ground when you get out of the pool that say this, not when walking to the pool. i saw several people slip and fall including my oldest daughter who thankfully only had a few bruises. There should be some very large signs up recommending wearing foot ware with treads at all times or roughen the pool deck with non slip coating / roughing. The hotel service, for what we paid for this trip compared with others, was average at best. The servers in the restaurants in all fairness were VERY good and responsive, they understood English quite well. But often times we got missed for housekeeping or they did not replenish the towels and we had to call them. The APP had in accurate information on several of the restaurants- including the Italian that one that doesn't allow families with Children under 12 inside, but that is not stated anywhere on the APP so when you show up dressed in long pants to sit inside and are told you can only eat outside in the heat then the manager helping can't help sort it out, doesn't bode well for their overall service; i did not feel they really cared about their clients (again considering this is a nicer resort). The quality of the house wine and beer was far above anything in DR or Mx so that was a nice positive, they are actually enjoyable. Also the food was very good and no one got sick on this trip from the food (which happened about 50% of the time in DR). We did several excursions including fishing (caught a large Mackerel) and hotel cooked it for us, along with a jungle tour and a UTV ride. All were quite good and safe. Overall I would return to Costa Rica, but I'd chose a different resort that is not such a long drive away from things or has better access. The serving staff, food and drinks were excellent and it was a nicely laid out resort, with a bit of staff improvement it would be top notch.

Me and my family’s experience at Dreams Las mareas.
I stayed at the Dreams Las Mareas for the dates of 19/04/2025 to 20/04/2025. We are 2 families, 10 persons in total. We booked 3 preferred club rooms in which all located in the building #2. And I’m going to adress some points: 1. Check-In process. A). When I first entered the resort property, I have mistaken the conference center entrance as the main entrance (check-in entrance). I had to walk a little bit but it was okay because it had shades on the side walk. But I would like to recommend to put on a sign about the entrances. B). When I checked in the services is really pleasant, I checked-in at the preferred club lounge although they didn’t offer us the food options available inside the lounge. 2. Food and gastronomy options in the resort. A). We went to various restaurants in the resort. At lunch time we went to the buffet to see what they have to offer and the food was pretty good, later we want to go the Oceana restaurant for some seafood and enjoy the views of the pools. When we entered the lady in the entrance of the restaurant was visibly annoyed by our arrival to the restaurant, she sat us down in 2 tables. They brought us menus and served us waters when I was ready to order I patiently waited 15 minutes for them to come to our table, but they never came. B). At dinner time we went to various restaurants the first we went to is the Gohan Sushi bar. They sat us down outside in the patio area. The one suggestion for this restaurant is to change the tall tables and chairs, because my daughter fell due to the height of the chairs. The food is 6.5/10. The second restaurant we went to is the El patio restaurant, the service and atmosphere in that restaurant is surprisingly amazing, they sat us down 5 different tables but together in a singular line. The food it’s either has no flavor or it’s over salted. But the tacos were delicious and salted to perfection. C). The last restaurant is the Oceana restaurant, I went there with only my son and my mother. The service is really nice at dinner time in the Oceana restaurant but the food we ordered is super salty and the dessert that I ordered is super sweet. 3. The attitude of some workers in some restaurants (mainly in the world cafe) The worked and I saw and heard were talking bad about other guests because of their clothing options for some people. They stared at other guests in a bad way. 4. Preferred club rooms. They advertised their preferred clubs rooms with a tablet that you can request things like rooms service, but when my brother and my sister in law got to their room (they booked the double swim out) there wasn’t the tablet and the room is in king layout and my niece and nephew had to sleep with a lamp above their heads and electric sockets near their head. PS:Some of the rooms are old and some are understocked without certain amenities. Also saw super old and molded doors in some buildings.

Pura Vida
Food was good and the resort was lots of fun! I enjoyed myself thoroughly! I liked the different atmospheres of the restaurants, I also really liked the various cuisines found in the cafes, restaurants and the room service. All gave a unique experience that left me wanting to return again someday!
