We traveled to WDW for senior trip in September 2019. We booked two rooms and Disney gave us our request of adjoining rooms. The newly updated rooms are clean and seem more spacious than the original room design. I traveled with three teenagers and we had plenty of storage space and charging outlets. The food court was awesome and we loved staying here. We can't wait to return again and again!
It was just okay...a little disappointed this time around!
Having stayed at All Star Sports (twice), All Star Movies previously and Pop Century last year, I can say we are very familiar with the value resorts and what they offer. After all we were there to be in the parks and not at the resort. With that said, we were disappointed with this stay as it didn’t have that “Disney magic” feel it has had in our past value resort visits. We picked this resort based on the newly refurbished rooms as we LOVED the pop century refurbished rooms during our visit a year ago. The rooms at All Star Movies rooms felt like they were cheaply renovated compared to Pop Century. The shower door didn’t close properly (we had to shove a towel in the track to get it to stay closed while showering), the rain shower head was replaced with a cheap one, the soap dispensers were not completely filled prior to our stay and we ran out of body wash near the end of our 7 night stay. We opted out of housekeeping as we were told we could request towels, garbage disposal as needed etc. (we opted out of housekeeping in the past at Pop Century and had no problems at all!). We requested new towels on day 3 and asked them to take the old wet towels (left at the door)...received 4 blankets and they didn’t take old towels? Requested towels again the next day and did receive them..but again didn’t take old towels by the door (housekeeping literally walked over them to enter the room) so wet towels remained under the bed the entire trip. Front desk wasn’t overly friendly when we approached them around this...but they did help none the less. As mentioned previously...the “Disney magic” just wasn’t in these rooms/at this resort as we have experienced previously. We did have an amazing trip at the parks and will be back again next year...just don’t think we will return to this resort!
This was our first trip to Disney and this resort was booked through our travel agent as a package deal. She recommended this All Star movies resort as a great place to stay based on her own experience. We were very happy here with everything! We stayed in the Toy Story section in a recently upgraded room that slept the 3 of us very comfortable. Housekeeping services were excellent! Our access to the busses were very convenient however, we had to go through the outside smoking section with our young daughter each day to get to the cafe, busses pool etc..this however was a big turnoff! We enjoyed all the cafe food as well as their hours. The outside bar was also a welcoming touch on a few hot days we endured. Pool was so relaxing as the temperature was just right! We will return for our future trips to Disney! We actually hated to leave!
We stayed in the Fantasia area of this resort. Convenient to the pool and dining area. Our room was recently renovated and slept 4 of us comfortably due to a queen Murphy bed. Lots of storage space. Great coffee bar/refrigerator area in room.
Good for a Value Resort
We recently stayed here for 6 days/ 5 nights. We were in the Toy Story section which is near dining and transportation. If you have an option it’s a good section. The only drawback is that you have to pass the smoking section (which is also right by the play ground-not the best place!). Anyways, the room had been updated and we had a Murphy bed, which my son loved! We also opted for our room not to be cleaned, but they did give us sheets when my son had an accident! The room was clean and there was a place to dump your trash. There was not a freezer, just a fridge. And the AC wouldn’t go lower than 68. It was an ok temperature, but I woke up a couple mornings a little warm. For the 3 of us it was enough space, but 4 might have been tight! There was a lot of space to unpack and put you’re stuff out (which I have to do). The food was good for breakfast, wouldn’t recommend eating lunch or dinner unless it’s the only option. Very sparse with choices of food. Breakfast had lots of options and was crowded at prime time (8-9). The Mighty Ducks pool was warmer and not as crowded as the main pool. They do have flotation jackets the kids can borrow (we brought our own). Since it’s a value resort a lot of people stay here and we only noticed it when we were waiting on the transportation. Sometimes we rode the All Star Music bus b/c it was less crowded, and just a short walk to Movies. For what we payed to stay on Disney property, it was a good value.
