Phenomenal experience
The view from my oceanfront balcony was phenomenal. The room was comfortable and inviting. I liked the shutters by the tub and how they opened allowing me to watch the sunrise. The staff were exceptional. Can't wait to go back.

Family Vacation
We loved the kids club. Evelyn was amazing!! She was patience, sweet and the kids looked forward to seeing her everyday of our stay. My 6 yr old did arts and crafts that will now serve as memorabilia for our stay. My 10 yr old burned some energy playing basket ball. The scavenger hunt was lots of fun and since it’s located right in front of the beach my husband and I were able to get some quality time in while we were near by and knew they were in great hands. Again thank you so much Evelyn. You are the best!!!

Awesome family stay at the Dip
I recently had an amazing stay at the Diplomat with my family. We stayed July 3-July 5th. I have to say I was a bit nervous for staying during July 4th due to the crowds in the area. I noticed a good amount of guests at the hotel during our stay. But I was amazed at how on top of things the security personnel were and how visible and friendly they were. It was very reassuring for our family to see security keeping an eye out. For the amount of people there, everything went extremely smooth. I also want to thank some staff at the pool area- Moe, Francisca and Annelis were awesome. They continually checked on us at our cabana. Everytime it stopped raining, they were there with fresh smiles and dry towels. Our waiter from the pool restaurant LA Playa was Ronald. He was extremely polite and attentive. So thank you to all the staff who made out July 4th Amazing! We hope to be back soon!

Annoying.
The hotel is beautiful and the room was clean, modern, and well-appointed—exactly what you would expect from a resort at this level. But the service left me genuinely disappointed, especially as someone who has worked in hotels myself. I spent years in hotel operations and front desk management, so I know how tough the job can be—and I have no interest in being the entitled Diamond member demanding red carpet treatment. In fact, I hated that kind of behavior when I worked the desk. But even with that perspective, I have to say: this stay lacked even the most basic gestures of hospitality. The gift shop’s room charge system went down, and instead of offering a workaround, we were just told “no.” We asked the front desk for help—they walked over to the shop themselves, confirmed the issue, and still refused to accommodate us. No “sign now, charge later,” no “let us figure it out,” just a cold dismissal. It was a missed opportunity to show even a shred of flexibility or care. To make things worse, the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage was closed, and we were forced to either walk through a Florida downpour in our dinner clothes or miss our reservation. We got soaked, were delayed, and lost our reservation. Florida weather is not their fault—but failing to provide a covered option during the wettest time of year absolutely is. The solution existed—they just were not using it. I do not throw around elite status to demand special treatment—but when even basic courtesy and common sense are missing, something is wrong. The Diplomat delivers in appearance, but the service feels like an afterthought. Until that changes, I would not recommend it.

Disappointing experience with unexpected charge
My wife and stayed 1 night from 4/14 - 4/15. While it is a very nice hotel, they charged us $300 for a water-damaged iPad. I knew the iPad was on the nightstand; however, we never touched it. We found out about the charge after we had checked out. It showed up on our card a day or 2 later. I called the hotel several times and was placed on hold (ignore?) and, after waiting for 30-plus minutes each time, gave up. I finally got through and spoke with a manager named Rhonan (don't have his last name). He listened and was very agreeable; however, he would have to discuss with his boss and would get back to me in a couple of days. He never called back. I followed up and this time left a message . . . never got a response. How are you sure the iPad was not damaged in some other way? There are a few other ways that come to my mind. We've stayed in Hollywood Beach numerous times and decided to give the Diplomat a try. . . we won't be making that mistake again!
