Nice Hotel and Location
The hotel was clean with neat landscaping; the hotel front desk clerks were very welcoming too! They represented the company in a positive manner and should be commended for their friendly yet professional interaction; for the hotel, it was clearly evident that management and employees take pride in the upkeep of this property and following all CDC safety protocols reference to the current COVID-19 pandemic the world is experiencing; keep up the good work and would definitely highly recommend and stay here again.
Just a bad room?!
Crowne Plaza Aire has been our 'go to' hotel when we would stay in the Twin Cities area or be using the airport. Not any more. Stayed there 11/15/2020. The floor had about a dozen dead flies on it. We had two beds but only one night stand and only one chair. The Keurig was filthy and then we found out it didn't even work. The lighted makeup mirror didn't work. There was a tile in the bathroom coming off the wall. We mentioned these issues to the staff but they seemed unconcerned. This has now become a 'last choice' hotel for us. We often use the hotel shuttle when flying out of the airport. The shuttle drivers have always been friendly, helpful, and courteous. They would still get a five star rating.
Nice room, housekeeping not so much!
The room was nice, clean and spacious. There was a huge pool, that we didn't use. I was really impressed with the fitness center. It is large and had a variety of cardio and weight machines. Free weights were also available. The restaurant was good, your typical over-priced average food. My one complaint involves the housekeeping staff. I was awoken to a knock on my door around 7:45 am by one of the housekeeping employees. She wanted to know when I was leaving. First checkout time is 11:00 am and second I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign out. There was no reason for her to have done this. Since I assume this isn't a standard practice, I would still recommend this hotel. My one recommendation would be to check out all the airline photos and memorabilia through out the hotel. It is fantastic! Also if you have time check out the Northwest Airlines museum. I told my cat Snorty McPoof about our adventures that included this hotel. He was appalled that I had being woken up so early(what cat wouldn't), but impressed with the airline theme of the hotel. Snorty loves to fly and does flying adventures often.
Near MSP Airport
This was our lodging near the airport for our trip home. We had to drop off our rental car before going back to the hotel. Hotel was very accommodating with shuttles. My wife wanted to go to the Mall of America and one of the shuttle drivers even went out of his way to get us there.
Not the best! Not the worst.
This is my least favorite hotel near the mall of America. Hot tub was dirty, pool floor dirty, our bathroom had chipped flooring and for me the worst was.....daughter went to front desk asking for an extra blanket. 30 minutes later and now 1030 pm no blanket so I head to desk to ask for a blanket. No one ever brought that blanket. See photo of bathroom floor. Hotel appears to be older. Service is lacking. I will Only stay here if our team tells us to like this time. Our first night was spent a few doors down at hyatt place. Highly recommend that hotel for free breakfast and large rooms.
