    Wonderful!

Best pizza of all time, great service, really good sorbet, if i and my family visit again definitely coming back here. A great experience with my dad we were laughing, smiling, and vibing to the music. I think the beads on the wall are cool. Very clean

    Poor customer service

Was pretty disappointed in this hotel. The service was not up to par with the Conrad name. The only positive interactions we had was with the front desk agent who checked us in and the housekeeping ladies. Employees at the restaurant downstairs were slow and didn't have the most positive attitude. The employee making coffee downstairs was on her phone the whole time and didn't even look up to assist. Overall the worst Conrad I've stayed at and not worth the high price point. I don't mind paying for good service but this was not a good experience.

    Low quality. Boring. Low end

This place was not worth the time or money. Absolutely not upscale. Location was not awful. Not great. Could NOT recommend. Room was average. Check in ok. Generally downscale. Generally an unpleasant experience. Really hated the place. Avoid the rooftop bar at all costs

The best business hotel experience in NY so far

I've stayed at a lot of NY hotels but this is probably the first I would bring my family to for a leisure visit. Conrad does everything right - clean modern spacious rooms, decent gym, good service, great views, great bourbon in the hotel bar. Hopefully this will be my new NY base!

A spacious stay in the city that never sleeps… even when the power goes out!

I’ve stayed in dozens of high-end hotels around the world, and while New York City isn’t typically known for room to breathe or reliable calm, the Conrad New York Midtown somehow manages to offer both... most of the time. As a keynote speaker, leadership coach, mom of five, and CEO of Workcations and Not the HR Lady, I'm on the move… a lot. My sense of luxury isn't champagne-and-slippers nirvana. It's: Am I able to coach 300 execs remotely on Zoom and still parent room-in and make it through Times Square? So trust me when I say that this hotel property gave me equal doses of heaven and burnout. Sadly. Blackout in a Five-Star Hotel? Let's start with the obvious: I experienced a complete blackout in our rooms the day of one of my most high-profile virtual keynotes during this half work, half spring break trip. The power went out at 7:00 AM. No air conditioning. No outlets. No way to do my keynote in this space. So it's just me, five kids, and about to be on is 300 business leaders ready to be inspired… now from a darkened hotel room in Midtown Manhattan. This wasn't going to work. The hotel had notified after 9 PM the night before, and even then, they weren't specific about how long it would be. The lights stayed out until almost 2 PM. For a hotel touting itself as a five-star city oasis, a near-seven-hour blackout during the daytime is not only inconvenient. It's unacceptable. It was a Monday for goodness sake! We ended up in a near-vacant ballroom, where I addressed in pajama bottoms, a blazer, hotel slippers, flat hair and all the high-wattage Zoom filters required to simulate readiness. The show must go on, after all, I mean this IS New York! Conference attendees at one point began trickling in, understandably perplexed by the woman broadcasting leadership strategies from the corner as if it were a TikTok TED Talk. I had expected more. At least a concerned person at the front desk. Alas, the hotel staff seemed to be almost completely unconcerned with the whole experience. All that being said, hooray for the real heroes: Lukaz in the restaurant, who redefined hospitality with his kindness and efficiency toward both me and all five of my kids, paying a huge compliment that "he sees a lot of families and ours is by far the coolest" - I happen to agree, but know he does work for tips. Still he felt like a long lost uncle, which became a theme during this trip. I think we're all searching for connection. Fernando at the bar, who treated everyone like a regular And, I'd be remiss not to mention the lovely curly-haired barista, whose cappuccinos are an arm and a leg but well worth it (the sort of rich, creamy espresso that causes you to forget your kids are bickering over who gets to sit by the window). She also gave me fantastic advice about managing my daughters curls. ** I ordered it, new friend ** This is the kind of service that makes even the most difficult experience bearable. These are the people who make it five-star. The rooms at The Conrad New York Midtown are huge by NYC standards. That's why we reserved it for our Workcation. I worked. My husband and kids wandered around. And we all needed space to live separately and together. All that being said, one of our two rooms was obviously dusty and musty when we arrived. The house staff did oblige to relocate us, but at this level, it shouldn't have been necessary and not again so much as an apology drink. The service was spotty. There is a sleek, integrated filtered water faucet in back of the mirror... clever, understated, eco-friendly. We just wished it had cold water. (Filtered warmish water doesn't feel so great after an entire day of shopping on Canal Street.) We booked both rooms under my American Express Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits and I'm glad we did! By using the Amex FHR benefits we got: Breakfast for two (per room) per day ($60 total credit) $100 food & beverage credit (per room) Early check-in / late checkout (12pm and 4pm) Room upgrade (we didn't get one, sadly) We made full use of the facilities... breakfast, lunch, on-site pizza dinners. Yum: fresh, seasonal, not too over-the-top. NYC dollars, yes, but quality served. Location is where the Conrad Midtown really excels. You're just steps away from: * The 9/11 Memorial & Museum * Hudson Yards & the Westfield Mall * Tribeca * The subway * A Big Bus Tour stop (yes, we took it, yes, it's worth it) * The Manhattan waterfront You’re central without being in the chaos of Times Square. It’s quiet enough for a family but still luxe enough for an early client drink in Tribeca. The one thing still unresolved? The billing. We booked two rooms using Amex Fine Hotels. The staff instructed us to consolidate all the food into one room so that the benefits would be credited properly. We did so. Weeks have passed and we're still going back and forth trying to get the statement corrected properly. Look, I'm out of town on business. I know how these things work. But for a five-star hotel, this should be stamped out pronto. Not add to admin for the guest. Would I Recommend The Conrad New York Midtown? Yes… with caveats. * If they sort out the billing. * If they take responsibility for the blackout (and maybe, just maybe, send some sort of apology token). * If you’re traveling with a large family, need space, and want a perfect Midtown location... this is still one of the best bets in the city. But bring patience. Bring flexibility. And maybe bring a flashlight, just in case.
