Comfort Suites South on Ventura Drive - totally outstanding experience !!!
Fabulous facility...very neat and tidy, well maintained...extremely courteous & professional staff...my room was perfectly prepared and soooooo quiet on the top floor (away from the elevator)...morning breakfast was a wonderful offering of hot entrees, cold cereals, pastries, fruits, and a variety of beverages. Comfort Suites...definitely comfortable !!! Highly recommend.
Great Property & Location
This is our go-to hotel when staying in Amarillo. It's located on the southern end of the city and away from the craziness of Interstate 40. It's in a quiet area and just a few minutes drive from a variety of restaurants & shopping options. There's also a very nice movie theatre with great prices right down the road from them. The property itself is very clean, both inside and out. The rooms are spacious and include couches, new flat screen tv's & Directv (with the NFL Sunday Ticket package). The pool and hot tub are average size and the breakfast is your typical hot breakfast. Overall we've always been impressed with this property and make it a point to stay here everytime we are in Amarillo.
Typical Comfort Suites
This place was as expected everything worked in the room the bed was large and comfortable and quiet the shower was fine . Breakfast basic but ok.Only there for 12 hours and then on the road again!. Located on the southern edge of Amarillo.
Clean but no service
We arrived late but the checkin went smooth and the room was clean. Unfortunately we had some plumbing problems in morning but the front desk help was too busy outside smoking to be available. In general, we just didn’t fill welcome there. If we make it through Amarillo again we will try a different hotel.
I showed up on my way back home from a motorcycle trip. I walked in and checked in and went to my room and my card key didn't work. Went back down and for another one and it did not work either. I had to go back down and the front desk host went up to let me in and for me card keys that finally worked. Everything was going well, until I turned on the TV. They had DirectTV, and it said the remote batteries need to be changed and to tell the front desk.. I was over it all by this time. So I was able to turn on the TV and the SAT signal was constantly cutting in and out. It said in the TV, that if it continues, to tell the front desk. It seems to be something all the time. I turned the TV off and went to sleep. I might stay there again, if I needed to.
