Great place to stay.
We were there March 5-10. The resort staff was always friendly and ready to help with anything. We loved having a room with a pool view. The pools were beautiful and well kept. The hot tub and pool bar were also great. Never crowded the week we were there. Housekeeping service was daily and they were there in a few minutes if you called for anything. The resort is close (drivable) to the truck stop and only a short walk from the tipsy lobster. Also about a 20 minute drive from secret beach. Would definitely stay here again!!!
The coco beach club was a nice winter getaway. The resort is small and not an all inclusive. Great pools, nice on the beach access. Really friendly staff. Food was good but very limited location choices. Turf n nuff excursions were very good. All day snorkeling and stop for lunch. Great sail on the catamaran. Also the sunset cruise was great. Room was really musty. We finally realized that if we left the bathroom fan running 24/7 it helped to illuminate the dampness. Loved renting the golf carts to go off property for other dinners and a visit to San Pedro.
Amazing and relaxing stay
Coco Beach was a fantastic place to stay for a week in February! We had a pool-view hotel room (the least expensive option) and it was way nicer and more spacious than we expected. Despite it being the busy season, the resort was pretty calm and quiet which was wonderful. The grounds were very well kept with lots of beautiful landscaping. The staff were all incredibly helpful, and they made everything super easy. When we checked in, they gave us a local cell phone to use in case we needed to reach the hotel when we were out and about, and we rented a golf cart directly from the hotel as well. We also chose to arrange our airport transfer through the resort which was a good call - once we cleared customs in Belize City, staff from Maya Air (the partner airline for the hotel) escorted us from check-in to boarding the plane to Ambergris Caye where we were picked up by the resort shuttle. While it wouldn't be super hard to navigate the process independently, it was really nice not to have to worry about the timing and logistics. We technically missed the flight we were scheduled for due to long lines at customs, but it ended up being a non-issue because the staff made whatever adjustments were needed. The pools at the resort were great as well. The way they are arranged, you can either be in sun or shade at basically any time throughout the day, and there are floaties, a water slide, and a hot tub. The pool bar was also fantastic. The bar staff are very attentive whether you're sitting right at the bar or at the other end of the pool. The bartenders (Emir, Gilmore, Ron, and Alex) were also lots of fun to talk to and had great recommendations for us! We had most of our meals offsite so we could explore as much local food as possible, but the resort restaurants were all great and very convenient. The pineapple coconut ceviche was one of our favorite ceviches on the island!
A Very Nice Resort on Ambergris Caye
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The pools are really nice. The restaurant has good food. The room was spacious. we reserved a 1-bedroom suite, they gave us a 2 bedroom. Why is it not 5 stars? The mattress was too soft for my bad back, they had no alternatives for me.. The units are dark inside, and need additional lighting. The "beach" it is on is not really a location you'd want to swim from. You need to travel to get to a nice swimmable beach. Renting golf carts gets really expensive, but that is the only way to really get around. We liked this resort.
Honeymoon in Belize
My wife and I spent ten days in Belize and five of them were at the Coco Beach Resort. We were there during Super Bowl week, so it was pretty slow but it was so much better than we expected. Our favorites were: 1. The bar staff. They were all fun to talk to and hang out with. Very nice staff. 2. The kayaks - You can take the kayaks out for free from the dock. They have buoys out there that you can tie off at and snorkel around maybe a hundred yards off shore or so. Perfectly safe. 3. The pier just to the north where they have the hammocks over the water. It was a great place to stay, fun place to hang out and being able to rent a golf cart let us get anywhere we wanted to go. Check it out! P.S. Head to the "Secret Beach" one day. You'll need a golf cart to get there. Check out the Blue Bayou restaurant and make sure you have a bathing suit!
