The most caring resort in San Diego.

I'm an RN working the COVID 19 crisis frontline. The Catamaran Resort and Spa have been instrumental in helping many of us get through this crisis. I work 12 hours, go to the hotel shower, sleep, have wonderful room service get up to work again and my family can now be more at peace because I am being given an opportunity to do all I can to keep my family safe too. Without the kindness and caring of the staff and management at this beautiful resort I would still be entering my home after twelve hours and not be able to find any comfort because I know they fear me because of the job I do. They try not to fear me and I know I try not to notice that I'm currently their biggest threat. The offer to have a safe place to decompress and rejuvinate will never be forgotten. I will be "staycationing" every year at this resort. They will be my only go to spot. They are caring for me when I'm sure they are scared too. Will never be able to THANK them enough. Hope everyone will give this resort their day and vacay buisness. They deserve to be supported in the same way they have supported the healthcare community during this unprecedented pandemic crisis.

    Perfect staycation

Beautiful resort and the perfect getaway during strange times. Everyone is taking extra precautions to keep us safe! Antonio in security went out of his way to bring us soda after room service was closed and the soda machine wasn’t working, he made our stay extra special and we are so grateful! :)

    Amazing Staff

We absolutely loved our stay at the Catamaran Beach Hotel. It was our 50th wedding anniversay and when we arrived at our room, Edith and Anna (hopefully remebering names correctly) had left chilled bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was so inviting and made us feel very special. The whole staff was so gracious to us and the property was beautiful. From the palm trees, beaches lined with umbrellas for sunbathing, the coy ponds, to the McCaw birds out on display each day, it could not have been better. In fact though it was. After leaving San Diego, my phone was stolen and all my bautiful pictures of our trip were gone. My husband, knowing how disappointed I was called the resort near my 70th birthday in March and explained how my phone was stolen. Steve took the initiative to take not one but about 20 beautiful pictures around the resort area including the gorgeous exotic McCaws and texted them to me. This is definately going the extra mile in customer service. I cannot say enough about what these kind gestures meant to us. Thank you again to the Staff and owners of the Catamaran Beach Hotel for making our 50th Anniversary trip the best anyone could ask for.

    Disappointing stay in Mission Beach

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days in March 2020 during a trip to the west coast. I think it's fair to say that the resort is not quite as good as it looks on the website - it is a bit tired and dated. The first room we were shown was in the tower but faced onto the hotel car park and being on a lower level was not exactly the view we had envisaged. We asked for a room change whcih they kindly obliged with and this had a far better view over the lagoon. That said, the room had a certain smell to it and the decor/furnishings probably haven't been updated for a long while. Overall, we would not plan on returning to the hotel nor recommending it to our friends.
