Return visit marred by another rude and violent other “guest”
Written by my husband: This was our second stay at canyon creek. We were in unit a205 and this time we rented the next door unit at a206. The location of both the unit and the condo community was great! It’s an easy walk to the slopes, even with small children. Both a205 and a206 units were well kept, clean, and spacious for family of 4. Kitchens were well equipped and they provided enough consumables (paper products, soaps, etc) for the week long stay. We only had to purchase more laundry detergent. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. We had our snowboards shipped there this time and they were exceedingly great in accommodating both the receiving from and allowing picking up by fedex a couple days outside the window of our stay. We are most appreciative of all 3 staff that we interacted. The one negative experience this time is a huge one however because it made us feel like our personal safety was in jeopardy. About half way through our stay, at 7pm, our family was leaving our unit to catch the shuttle to town for dinner, and a 6’ tall 180lbs ish caucasian man who looks in his 30s-40s came to our door and confronted me. What started out as what i thought was someone being friendly and joking around (“are your kids done making noise?!”) to full on aggressive, threatening, challenging me to a physical fight, throwing an endless stream of profanities and racial slurs (we are mixed race family) at us. He claimed that he was “an owner” next door and that there were tons of complaints from other guests about us, and that he would see to it that we will get thrown out and banned from ever returning. He also specifically told me “you better lock your doors or i’ll come for you all next time you make any noise!” it was frightening and confusing for our young boys to witness their father accosted in such a way. My wife ushered them down the stairs and away from the conflict as quickly as she could and sought help and shelter in the front office. There was no one there so she called the number and spoke to one of the very helpful staff who urged her to call the police. However, at that time, she didn’t know who the aggressor was nor if he really was an owner or what. With the help of the staff, we came to find out 1. No one ever complained about our kids or our family making any excessive noise. 2. The perpetrator was not staying next door and not one of the owners. 3. He was staying in the unit below ours, a106, and “rented” directly from the owner of that unit. We infer that this man is staying at his parents’ or grandparents’ condo, especially when we found out that this wasn’t the first time he accosted other guests in similar manner. This whole situation really shook up our family and made us fearful the rest of our stay. If we ever return, it won’t be to the same unit. We would also advise against renting a106 as they kept allowing this man to return and harass other guests. Make our voices heard with our wallets!

Great location, but LOUD noises from above and outside
Centrally located and easy access to the slopes, but poor construction makes your stay here LOUD if you are not on the top floor. We asked there was anything that could be done to minimize the noise coming from the unit above us, but were told there was nothing that could be done and that it was a VERY COMMON complaint! We won’t stay here again.

short walk to slopes/shops *clean and modern
I could not ask for a better location in Steamboat. Short walk to the lifts and Ski Time Square. A102 was modern and super clean . We had coffee pods provided to us. We had a W/D in unit and I left the next renter my leftover Tide pods. A102 was roomy . Our view was of the mountain. Can't beat that. Several places to eat nearby and grocery shop. Canyon Creek provides a shuttle also.

A perfect 5-night stay at Canyon Creek B302
We just had a wonderful 5-night stay in Canyon Creek B302. The unit is clean, quiet, and roomy. The decor looked a bit dated in the photos but it looks much, much better in person, the perfect ski condo decor. The kitchen is very well-equipped, which we always appreciate very much as we cook most of our meals on vacation, especially during COVID. We walked to the mountain multiple times per day to ski, take a break, go back to the mountain again, repeat. There is a free shuttle available at the property, but we didn't need it. The hot tub was a nice treat after a long day of skiing. The WildPlum is a short walk from the unit and has a great outdoor fire pit, good beer on tap, good pizza, and is far less crowded that Timber and Torch for an apres ski beverage. We would absolutely stay here again!

Close to slops
Not a bad condo, but we stayed there for 8 days & no new towels, we had 3 bathrooms & when we asked for 4 rolls of TP, they brought us only 1... (3 hours later), the one spa on-site is understandably restricted to one family at a time.... but they’re scheduling software on-line allowed us one time as a family to go to the spa in eight days… That was utterly ridiculous. We all know that Covid causes certain complications these days, but for the amount of money we were paying they seemed quite understaffed and under attentive. Due to all the Covid restrictions on the mountain, it is best to just walk to the gondola which is about a 10 minute walk uphill in the morning and downhill at the end of the day.
