    Toxic mold

First time I stayed at this location it was a pleasant experience. Room was clean. Second time I stayed at this location the room smelled like mold and upon further investigation the box springs were covered in mold, there was a layer of moldy cobwebs covering an entire wall, all the “ art” was covered in toxic mold. The door frame to the bathroom was too small for the door so it didn’t shut, the baseboards were DISGUSTINGLY dirty. Holes in doors, crack in sink, mold in refrigerator, remote didn’t work, entire door was covered in grime and filth, window sill covered in dead bugs, light fixtures covered in moldy cobwebs. Two bath towels for 4 people. Certainly not worth $500.

Do not stay here if you need to sleep

To preface my stay, I woke up at 3:30 a.m. to drive 7.5 hours for my best friend's graduation from Texas A&M. Check in was fine, but when I got to my room, I had to muscle my way in as the door handle was broken. The room was as clean as could be expected seeing how it is a beach motel. The white cover on the bed had not been washed or changed recently. The parking lot and the pool were clean. When I returned later that night after driving all day and prepping for graduation activities, my neighbors (at least 3 rooms) had pull the table and chairs outside on the walk way and were partying it up. Good for them, but I need sleep, which I did not get. I guess they finally had enough at 4:00 a.m. because that was about the last time I heard them. The front desk didn't seem concerned and the last thing I needed was slashed tires. After 2.5 hours of sleep, I spent the whole day doing graduation stuff. The next night, I came dragging in in dire need of sleep. I had to fight my way through the door again and as I laid my head down, I heard children running and screaming up and down the walk way and at the pool. This lasted till about 2:00 a.m. I managed to get a couple hours of sleep before I had to drive 7.5 hours home. I got more sleep at the rest stop, than I did at this motel. I paid way too much to be deprived sleep for 2 nights!! I won't stay hear again. If you have a busy weekend or are there for work, do not stay at this hotel. If you are there to party hard, you might make some friends.

Loud spring break week so, meh

Location is good, just over bridge on Padre Island. Breakfast is usually good. Out of 4 nts, only 1 day had food run out and the person servicing didn't make more though it runs til 10 and it wasn't even 9:30 yet. To be fair, she also had to run the front desk and looked stressed so she was doing the best she could. Staff is pleasant and rooms are clean. They change towels daily but don't make beds, which was fine by me. Beds are too firm for my taste and pillows are not comfortable at all. Unfortunately didn't sleep too well here. Wish there was a few choices for type of pillows but the 8 in the room were identical. It is def dated and needs some TLC. Pipes in my room were incredibly loud, I think mainly when someone upstairs used the water. Woke me up in middle of nt a few times. Walls and door are thin. This place was NOT quiet. I was here to visit my USN son, but tough week as spring break for TX families and it was loud and a bit of mayhem long into the night, which was tough after midnight when trying to sleep. Good spot for those who want to fish. Just wish there were less revelers drinking in parking lot and being loud after 11pm. Didnt use pool. It's a 2 star motel, so adjust your expectations and my recommendation is to bring ear plugs. Though a platinum member, may stay at La Quinta next time. Looks newer. Or rent a condo.

Older but well maintained and operated

We stayed here for two nights as we toured around the area as part of a month long road trip through Arizona and Texas. The motel is definitely older and could use some significant improvements and renovations, but everything functions and is clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. Staff is friendly and very responsive to requests. Breakfast was good with a decent variety of hot and cold items. It’s convenient to travel in any direction, although it is a bit awkward turning in from the busy highway.
