A favored lodging that could use some TLC
We have been coming to this Best Western for a decade and will, no doubt, be returning because we have family in the area. It is because we have enjoyed our visits in the past that we feel compelled to bring up some problems that we had not encountered before, as well as point out what is good about this lodging. CONS: • The shower water pressure is low and the shower head is super high. A shorter person, like myself, could never reach it to adjust the direction, which is immensely important because . . . • -the shower curtain did not reach the top of the tub! When we brought this up to the front desk, they said that all the shower curtains were newly installed, and all are too high. No remedy was provided. We used up many of our towels just making sure we didn’t flood the floor and cause problems below us (we were on the 2nd floor). • Something or someone hit a corner of the room pretty hard and tore off the carpet and molding. • The furniture shows major wear. • While we forgot to put the “do not disturb” sign on the door, we weren’t expecting housekeeping to pound loudly at 9:00 a.m. on the day of checkout, saying they didn’t expect anyone to still be here. • This may not be the case with all rooms, but our room overlooked the pool and the window is not one that opens, which makes it hard to remove any stale smells. • Housekeeping took care of our room but did not vacuum, which may be their policy, which is disappointing. PROS: • Every flattering picture of the pool is accurate. The pool is large and well maintained – just know that the surrounding concrete is more slippery than most. • Even though the motel was at capacity during our visit, there was plenty of parking. • The housekeeping staff were very nice and, even with a language barrier, were quick to translate everything on their phone in real time to understand our requests. • The bed was very comfortable. We have affection for this motel and hope that management has plans to put some money into it to bring it back to its best condition before we return.

Good place to stay
The room was clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The desk person was very helpful. The room had a musty odor when first entering. It should be aired out. Location is very good. (Mount Pleasant) The included breakfast was adequate. The coffee was instant :(

Don't come here
Don't use the Best Western, Savanna highway , Charleston SC theres nothing 'Best' about it ! , We asked for a different room, but were told they were fully booked, and would not get a refund, the room was very tired and smelly, the carpet and bathroom really not good, we would leave tonight but are struggling to find anywhere else to stay as its Easter , it's horrid here

This property is a MOTEL, not a HOTEL
When we arrived, we learned that this property is a motel, not a hotel. Rooms are on two floors, and there's no elevator, which means hauling luggage up the exterior stairs if your room is on the second floor. Since we were checking in late, all the first floor rooms had already been assigned. I always do extensive research before booking a property, and had thoroughly reviewed their website. There's no mention that they don't have an elevator, and the website calls the property a "hotel," not a "motel." The property is very old, though it has been extensively renovated. The room was pretty clean and one of the quietest rooms I've ever stayed in. Unfortunately, the majority of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work and the hot water in the second bathroom sink could only be turned on and off by using the hot water valve under the sink. It was ok for our one-night stay but I won't be returning or recommending the property.

Very basic hotel convenient location
The photo is beautiful as is the outside property but the hotel is dated. Lobby is nice but not large. The check in was a time wasting hassle as the housekeeping had cleaned most of the many available rooms when I went to check, with doors open and all done, but NONE were reported clean to the lobby, so the n ice lobby lady was completely in the dark. The warm Breakfast was the usual BW watery fake egg mix plus sausage patties, no potatoes or interesting sides. Dining room was nice. The room was very basic but space was good and furniture was fairly new. Location close to many food places, airport and historic Charleston, a bit far from beaches like 1/2 hour + and some traffic. I was charged for the deposit amount in error though I didn't owe anything, so careful about the bookkeeping. The hotel could be really decent but missed opportunities.
