Treated like a misbehaving child and not a paying guest.
The pros are the lush greenery, alux restaurant and the room itself also air-conditioning *in the room only* . Plus all the lights at night. Also the entertainment The cons were the very hot temperature of the pools and lack of AC in common areas , horrible lunch and dinner buffet and snack bar (the food is genuinely horrible at this hotel) and the staff forcing everyone out of the pool at 7pm and sending security after you if you attempt to try and cool off in the pools later in the evening. For an adults only resort it is really restrictive in many ways. I was attempting to put a hermit crab that had wandered up into the pool area back on the beach and was accosted by a lifeguard who told me to leave it alone like I was 6 years old and not 30. I didn't want the damn thing to drown in the pool with us. We likely won't be back and I advise you to think about if it's worth it or not.

Excellent place to relax and enjoy
Friendly service!! Juana and Faustino at breakfast, Fabio at the Cenote Pool Restaurant, Carlos at the Privilege Beach Bar, Roberto at check-in, Camila at Guest Services. They all made our third time stay at Sian Kaan unforgettably restful, pleasant! Looking forward to coming back soon!

Great adults only hotel
We stayed there end May/start of June 2025. We’ve been to Sian Kaan 3 times and will return ! I could write so much about this brilliant hotel but will pick out the main points. As we arrived in the taxi Jorge from Guest Services came straight over with a wheel chair for me as I have a disability. Jorge continued to help with our check in and going to our room. Also a big mention to Enrique from Guest Services who helped me getting about the resort snd dealt with an issue with our room and gave us much information about the resort. Keep smiling Enrique ! Also a big shout out to Delmar, Alexander and the rest of the entertainment team. Always offering fun and activities at the activity pool. Also the pool bar staff who constantly come round the pool area offering to bring drinks. There is a choice of pools though as they have a quiet pool beside Alux restaurant. The evening live entertainment was varied and good. We loved the a la carte restaurants around the resort but I’m going to give a special mention to the manageress, Carmen at the Japanese restaurant Maiko at Sian Kaan. We went there 3 times. Also a special mention for the buffet restaurant Yalku. It is the best buffet restaurant I’ve ever been to with Great quality food, superb selection, and good service from waiting staff. Looking forward to returning to the Sian Ka’an and seeing the very attentive staff again. 🥰
