    Would definitely come back

A great vacation experience! Beach : When we were there, there was some seaweed. The hotel staff are working diligently to remove as much of it as possible. It's still possible to go swim in there obviously. If you're averse to seaweed, a little 10-minute walk down the beach brings you to a spot where barely any seaweed manages to accumulate. Food : Excellent. The variety and taste were top-notch. Operating hours are accomodating. À la carte restaurants were fantastic as well. The snack bar by the beach is very convenient and has self-serve soft drinks and alcohol. Service : The staff is friendly and efficient. We were given a room which didn't suit our needs initially and it was immediately changed to a different one with no issues at all. Convenience : The resort is huge, the Grand Turquesa is just one of the 6 hotels in the same location, but you can walk around the others and use the pools and bars of the biggest one (Grand Punta Cana). The pool and snack bar near the beach are also open to everyone. Cons : Not a big deal but it should be mentioned anyway - it is quite noisy, especially around the pools (music and entertainment). If you're specifically looking for a quiet resort, it might not be the best choice. Nevertheless, the noise didn't negatively impact the overall experience - it's quite easy to get away from it if you need to.

Fun girls trip! Hotel does need some updating but the staff was incredible. Resort very clean! Beds extremely hard. Ouch

Overall lovely resort staff does an amazing job cleaning and attending to your needs. This time of year beach has a lot of seaweed, I have been to other places where they pick it up and move it not the case here. Yuck did not use the beach at all smelly and it was far away from our rooms and the lobby. Had to take a little train to get there unless you wanted to walk a half an hour so that was inconvenient. Pools by beach were dirty and crowded. Buffet was just ok by the 7th day had no desire to eat there same every day. Specialty restaurants were amazing but hard to get reservations. Felt like the entertainment was definitely not as fun compared to other resorts I have stayed at. First of all they did shows in lobby not in a theater which made it difficult to see anything, pillars are in the way , people walking thru and dumb people have no common sense they stand right in front of you!!!! I also felt like they could’ve had more entertainment at the pool like getting a game of volleyball started or pool games or something. It was very boring. We were there for seven days and only saw one game for adults. I felt like the entertainment was lacking indefinitely needs some more spice to it . They could’ve really gotten the guest involved more in activities which always makes it fun and entertaining to watch, but there really wasn’t any of that so boring. Also, I felt with the size of the pool. They could’ve had weight staff walking around serving drinks, cleaning up the messes that other people would make. They should have fresh water available for customers to help themselves at all times instead we had to wait till bar opened at 10 silly to have to bother staff to get drinking water and ice. We were told we could use the sports bar and other pools but got kicked out. The language barrier was difficult for Americans. I felt like , so it was difficult to communicate needs at times. rooms were clean, although beds were extremely hard and always had to ask for washcloths and extra towels. Don’t know why they can’t just put the same amount in your room every day when they know how many people are staying and you’ve requested several times that’s just dumb to me. we did have a nice dinner on the beach, which was probably the best food the whole time we were there, but that was an additional cost but very lovely thanks to Eddie. The bartenders at the pool bar Elvis, Alexander , Luis and eriksol were very fun and attentive. Alcohol drinks were OK wish there would’ve been more fresh fruit to add to some slushy drinks and of course, if you wanted the higher end alcohol, you had to pay for it which to me is dumb because when you book this online, you don’t get an option to upgrade to the privilege or have the privilege services which would make the experience much more enjoyable. Our group of girls made it fun but l would not come back I have stayed at much nicer places for less money and better services and accommodations and definitely the entertainment.

Great value resort that doesn't disappoint

What a wonderful five days in paradise with 16 of my friends and family. The Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa did not disappoint. We had 8 rooms in Villa 52, and although a little dated, it gave an authentic Dominican feel. The beds are a little on the hard side, but the rest of the room amenities were exactly what we needed for this trip. The room stewards work very hard every day to keep the rooms clean and restored for your return. The food...although we ate at the buffet for all meals except for 1, we really enjoyed the food here. We ate at Takara Asian one night. The one thing we noticed is that the meat... no matter where we ate seems to be overly cooked. But there are no complaints on any of the other food served during our stay. The resort...the pools were kept clean, and the bartenders delivered on some very good drinks during our stay. The activities around the pool were very entertaining to watch. The trains that transport you from one part of the resort to another are very efficient and don't leave you waiting very long for the next. The grounds are well kept, and the workers are constantly out, making it more beautiful. I was a little skeptical reading all the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised at how hard the employees of the Grand Turquesa work to make your stay as relaxing and as comfortable as they can make it.
