Huge Resort, Lots of Activities
I travelled here in early March. This was our first time in the Dominican. This resort was way too big for me. There were lots of golf carts to take you around but the exercise was good. The buffets had plenty of food and it was good. The restaurants where you had to reserve were good as well. Make sure to email the resort prior to pre-book. The rooms were very clean and maids were excellent. Room had a coffee pot, bar fridge which was stocked daily. I tipped the maids with items that are hard to get in Dominican. The property was so clean. The cleanest I have seen from Mexico and Cuba. The poor worker had to mop the walk ways and it wasn't an easy job so make sure to tip. The only complaint I have are about the vendors selling items. The men are very pushy and ignorant if you dont buy. Other places are not like this. We did one tour to Santo Damingo and it was beautiful. The only downfall was the tour company switched us to different buses and we ended up on a tiny bus with a few people sick. Ugh. Please make sure to feed the cats and dogs at the resorts.
Birding is amazing here!
I definitely recommend staying here if you're a birder, I know not many people are, but they have a mangrove in the middle of the resort that has many herons, and ducks. Herons that I have never seen before were super close for great photos where you don't even have to leave the property. Every morning we would wake up and go bird and every evening we would hear the parrots up high in the palm trees right around the pools. I certainly did not expect wild parrots to be all around the resort. One morning we watched a pelican fly in right on the beach and land in a tree, very close once again. So that was definitely the highlight! The staff was very friendly, it was our first time ever in Dominican and we noticed staff around the whole week they became our resort friends. The resort has daily activities and activity boards around the properties so you know what is going on and where. You can win gifts like t-shirts, alcohol, or vouchers for the casino. This gets you having the most fun around the resort and gets you a nice little gift to take home with you. Buffet was huge! Highlight for me was the white-chocolate macadamia nut ice cream.. I have never tried this flavour but I had to have some once a day.. haha. A lot of options at the buffet and different cuisine themes most of the days so take advantage of what you see because they might not serve it again the whole time you're there. They have 4 pools so there are a lot of options for swimming, closest to the beach is where the party people are mostly at and if you like it quiet I suggest the pools in the middle. A la carts actually were a little worse than the buffets in my opinion, so it was nice to have options all around. There is a buffet on the beach for when the main buffet is closed which is so gorgeous and convenient, I really loved that. Basketball, tennis courts if you're sporty, options with boats on the water. Nightly entertainment with not just one thing going on each night but multiple events so you could choose. There is also a night club on the property if you like dancing each night. A ton of shops are on this property. Overall I have nothing bad to say about this place everything was great, hotels with separate entrances were great because we rarely ran into people we didn't know around the hotel, so it was pretty private. Everything was a short enough walk and if you don't like walking there are golf carts running 24/7.
Will Bouganville definitely be closed until November 1st with no chance of opening as we were coming last week of August ? It seems you are opening only Fantasia and Amber only is this correct Thanks in advance
