Astonishing architecture in beautiful surroundings
A place with an excellent service and atmosphere, with dozens of helpful people, a main house with an astonishing architecture and beautiful surroundings and gardening, entertaining shows andnot to forget: -- the meals! Three meals a day – always overwhelming. Everything you could dream of you would be alble to find here. But: All meat, fish, pig or beef, is too well done to an european taste, too dry to be delicious and very often cold, having been on the buffet for a long time. But lots of salads, vegetables and deserts. And tasty spanish wine. The place is beautiful. For people loving beach and bathing it must be like heaven. For those that want to go somewhere in between – on their own hand – to see Santo Domingo f. ex., the capital of the Republic, and the place where Columbus more than 500 years ago put his foot on ”american” earth, it is like a prison. No public transport. The highway with overland-buses is not so far away, but there is no hotel-shuttle to a – now not existent – busstop. You can go on an organized tour, or hire a taxi for a day. But when you stay two or three weeks in a country you should have better posibilities to explore a little more than beach, buffet and bar in the place where you have booked -- without having to rent a car. Let us hope, that the days of corona soon will end, and that we then can return to and enjoy this remarkable place BAHIA PRINCIPE LA ROMANA and that – in the meantime – a way has been found for individual transportation

Bahia Principe Grand La Romana
We are just back from a week stay in this fantastic resort. Everything was perfect. The staff (at all level) is super friendly, the rooms are perfect, very good beds, well lit up bathroom, good size balcony on the ground floor overlooking beautiful gardens. The food was very good except the desserts but then again I don't have a sweet tooth. The entertainment team was very nice but it's a shame that the holiday makers didn't want to participate more. The staff sometimes nearly had to beg to find willing people!! The beach is clean, beautiful, the sea very warm but not so crystal clear. Enough deck chairs even though at 7.30AM people have already "reserved" their place, which is really irritating. The pool is impeccable. 2 small negative points: 1) the pool + beach bars both closes at 6PM and ran out of (my favourite) Mojito sometimes as early as 4PM. 2) resort a little bit isolated so no walks to a local village or trip with local bus or motor conchos. Nearest place is San Pedro a 15 minutes taxi ride from the hotel at a ricidulous price of 20 dollars to get there or retur for 35 dollars. All in all great holiday where we might come back to. Highly recommended place.
From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be a wonderful, caring, relaxation filled week. They are the best. I enjoyed being pampered and even got a little Spanish in although that is limited. Bliss and attention no matter where we went. Next year will book their sister side! Thanks to all those who made us feel special!
