My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at Austria Haus and everything was perfect. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with large bathrooms (with heated floors!). Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay and see if there was anything they could do for us. They were very helpful with dinner recommendations and reservations, as well as booking a spa appointment at their sister resort. The hotel is incredibly convenient to stroll through the Vail Valley area and explore dining and shopping. It is also just steps from the transportation center if you want to take the shuttle to the Booth Falls trailhead. Breakfast included a nice variety of waffles, pastries, bagels, fruits, and yogurts. We were so impressed with our stay and highly recommend this hotel.
Terrific hotel and service
We stayed just one night in Vail, and I’m so happy we chose the Austria Haus! The location is very convenient to shops and restaurants, and the staff could not have been nicer. The room was clean and felt like it had been updated fairly recently. Bathroom was large and very clean. Again, it felt and looked recently updated. We enjoyed a late night dip in the pool and hot tub, and the European style breakfast was delicious! I can’t say enough about the staff, particularly Michael and Colin. They were so helpful and made us feel right at home. Loved it! If we return to Vail (and I hope we do), we’ll return to Austria Haus.
Very good stay
Great location, super friendly staff, lovely rooms, comfy bed, and good wifi. The parking situation is a little weird to figure out but it wasn't too bad. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies are a classy touch!
Fabulous Hotel in the Village
We just returned from two nights at the Austria Haus and I would highly recommend the hotel. The staff is excellent and extremely helpful. We thought Kary (sp) was a great valet and always gave us great advice on the area. Our room was excellent. We stayed in a Columbine Deluxe Room that faced the main street. It was plenty big and I loved the extra sitting area to read in. I will say that the lighting in the room needs to be improved. Even having every light on, it wasn't that bright. Our bathroom was quite large and even had a separate area for the toilet. The bath tub is a little high so a non-slip mat in the tub would be something I would suggest for the hotel. The room does have A/C (I believe) but I could not get it to work - but it was in the 50's overnight so we slept with the windows open. You will hear some street noise / truck deliveries in the AM. I thought the breakfast was great. Surprised by some of the complaints. There were always "make your own waffles" and on the second morning, they also had little quiches and bacon. Location-wise - perfect. Right in the middle of the village and many streets/restaurants to walk to. There is a valet for your car - which while it is "free"(as is the breakfast), you're paying a nightly resort fee to cover it. Overall - a beautiful hotel that is centrally located with a great staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if in Vail.
This is a beautiful property centrally located in the center of Vail village. Pool area overlooks the creek. You walk out of the hotel and you are in the center of Vail. Hotel is spotless. There is complimentary valet parking. Service in the hotel is excellent. The included buffet continental breakfast is bountiful and would be a full American breakfast in most hotels. The only reason I did not give the hotel 5 stars is because of the pool. I called the hotel before making the reservation and was told the pool is not a dunking pool. You can swim in it but only if you are alone. It’s small. The hot tub is nicer.
