Good location, beautiful view. Self service accommodations.

We stayed here for a week. The grounds were pretty and our hotel room faced the ocean so we had a beautiful view. We’re disappointing to find out that the beach was not safe to swim in. We were supposed to have two double beds but instead had a bed and a pull out couch which we made work but was not the most comfortable. Did not receive any housekeeping services while we were here. But upon check in everything was clean and the staff were very friendly. We were supposed to be greeted with leis but we did not receive that service. The location to the airport and for shopping is pretty good. You can get to almost anything on the island within an hour or less. Did feel it was a little over priced for what we received. The accommodations on this island seem to be pretty expensive for the most part though. The beds were not that comfortable. But if you’re looking for a place to stay on the south side of the island, this is a good compromise. Staff friendly but the experience is more like borrowing someone’s apartment and not a service hotel. Pool was beautiful but bar was closed during our stay.

Waking up the sound of the ocean is a retreat

The oceanfront room provided a tranquil to wake up daily to the sound of the rolling waves. The old vintage style decor created a relaxing vibe for the trip.

    Great Location on the Beach!

Great location on the beach for a great price! Love that the food is so close by too! Easy to drive to Hanalei, Southside, and the airport. Good central location.

    Nice Stay

This is a hotel/condo complex right on the beach in Kapa'a. You cannot swim at this beach but there are beach chairs to enjoy the view. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. We had a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent air conditioner. We had a garden view room but you could see the ocean when you set on the Lanai. This is not a full service hotel and only has a bar by the pool which is not open every day. There is no restaurant but there is a shopping center just across the parking lot with coffee shops, restaurants and retail shops. The front desk closes at 11 pm so I'm not sure what you would do if you need something in the night. Our television stopped working the second day we were there and we called for help at 6:30 pm and all the maintenance workers had gone home so we had no TV that night. But I would definately stay here again if I was in the are.

    Disappointed

Check with the hotel before booking. The pool bar is NOT OPEN and I feel jipped. We've been coming to the Islander for years and I love the pool bar. But to my disappointment it is closed because they can't find bar tender? What the heck!
