Tired and Dingy, Desperately Needs TLC and Maintenance- Used to be "Grand"
Really tired , and unmaintained. A lot of money for a dated and dirty property. We normally stay at Hilton but thought the pics of this and descriptions looked great plus we had stayed here 10 years ago . Boy were we disappointed. It is not "Grand" anymore. Front door hard to get in. Can't shut the bathroom door without almost standing on the toilet. Dingy and dark in the room and everywhere else. Needs a lot of TLC. Sad it has degraded. We will not be coming back. We were also surprised there is no room service. No Microwave. Tiny Refrigerator. Scary furniture we were afraid to sit on . Trash in areas of Hotel, and near Ice Machine. No one seems to care. It's our last visit here !
I was in Arizona for business and spent 5 days at this beautiful resort! My room was spacious, had a separate living room, table for two, and small balcony off the bedroom. The Resort has multiple pools, in addition to Oasis Water Park, with lazy river, wave pool, and 2 very large water slides! It was truly amazing!! They keep the rafts & towels stocked at all times!!! I had breakfast at the on-site Market Cafe’ which has a patio area overlooking the golf course, and the food (yogurt/fruit plate & oatmeal) was good. Our meetings were held in the conference area, which was clean, spacious, and very well staffed! I would not hesitate to stay at this resort again, for business or pleasure!
This resort is beautiful and the staff are amazing. The villas are gorgeous, clean and with wonderful views of the pond and the golf course. I will visit again next year for the conference and vacation.
As the Managing Director of a Major Hospitality Advisory Firm and having been in the industry for 35 years, I have never seen such a poor example of service and maintenance attached to a quality facility. It started with the front desk giving us the wrong directions to our daughters room and then turned into then checking us into a room full of dirty linen. It took them 20 min to change our room and They then “upgraded” us to a room that was also dirty (see photos) and had no microwave in it as we requested. At that point, it was 10pm, so we went to looking for something to eat but everything at the resort was closed (Which is understandable) but then my wife ordered a cocktail at the bar and it was served in a plastic cup! We then tried to use the text service that was highlighted at check in “for our safety” to order fresh towels and to take out our trash while we were out, but no one came. After 3 hours I called the front desk to ask for the service again and they reminded me THAT FULL HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ANY STAY, but they would be happy to give us new towels. The only reason why I gave this hotel 2 stars is because of their facilities. Without the water features it deserves a 1 star.
Pleasant, Accommodating, and Clean
This was my third experience at the Arizona Grand Resort. Each one was very pleasant. Being from the Northeast, the weather in Phoenix is a lot warmer than I am accustomed to. That said, all of the conference areas are well air conditioned and comfortable. My hat off to the management and staff that they are able to perform so well during these times. the grounds, my room, the restaurants and shops are being kept up and all neat and clean.
