Oasis Water Park does not follow CDC guidelines
Their websites claims the watermark is open and follows CDC guidelines...this is completely untrue. Here are some facts from today’s visit 1. There are many signs posted around the water park saying “mask are required.” Maybe 5 people (besides the employees) wore mask outside of the water 2. Overcrowding. Way too many people were allowed in the park. Staff allowed way too many people in the lazy river and wave pool where it made it impossible to social distance yourself from anyone else. 3. Social distancing was not followed AT ALL (this includes in and out of the water). I was the first one in the park today. Some chairs were set up and spaced apart, others were not. We bought a cabana so we can spread out away from other people. Unfortunately, the park sold cabanas that were directly next to each other. The chairs were literally touching. 4. Many staff members were wearing their mask incorrectly within six feet of guest or other employees Today could have been an amazing and mostly safe experience if the park cared about people’s lives more than putting money in their pocket.
Our family enjoyed a way above expectations vacation over the recent Independence Day holiday at the Arizona Grand! While some things were closed due to covid 19, the hotel staff did everything they could to ensure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We want to give special credit and a spotlight of excellence to Kate in Reservations. Right off the bat, she very patiently and kindly helped us get a terrific package deal for a beautifully appointed villa and equally lovely adjoining room for our party of 6. Our rooms were clean, beautifully furnished and we had a fantastic view of the fireworks show right outside our patio, practically over our heads! Kate was very knowledgeable of the latest updated info, besides the resort in general, ensuring our plans could work despite shut-down restrictions. She connected us with Shanna, the manager of the adjacent Oasis Water Park, who's staff reserved daily cabanas for us at incredibly awesome rates and waited on us like royalty. For those complaining about a crowded water park: it's summer, it's hot, it's pandemic season and there's not much left to do, so expect people to be there. We didn't find it overly crowded, and were actually impressed with the staff's impeccable service while masked in the heat. Thank you, Grace and company, for keeping us supplied with ice, water, refilled air cooler, and bringing our food and drinks orders with easy smiles and friendly conversation! Everything we ordered from food service was fresh and delicious and portions were plentiful. Overall, we had an awesome time and it was largely due to the level of excellent customer service and friendly hospitality.
My toddler found a razor
We were so excited for a socially distanced family stay-cation! When we called, they said their resort was less than 50% capacity and we felt that safe enough. We got amazing rates and checked in on a Thursday evening. Within two hours, I noticed how dirty my 15 month olds feet were. The bottom of his feet looked like they had been stamped on an ink pad. If the floors were THAT dirty, what else hadn’t been cleaned?! I called guest services and they seemed unconcerned, but offered to send house keeping up. Because I am pregnant and have two small children, I asked them for a different suggestion as we are trying to keep our distance from all outside people. Their second suggestion was to send up cleaning supplies... really? I was frustrated to have come to a dirty hotel and be asked to clean (deep clean) the floors! After much hesitation, they offered to send security to move us rooms. Again, I reminded them we were trying to distance from all strangers and they really didn’t back down? I couldn’t imagine having strangers come into our hotel, move all our belongings for the next few days and have to deal with our kids while my husband was handling business before meeting us. They finally slid a card key under the door and we moved two doors down when my husband arrived. Then my 15-month-old found a razor by our mini fridge. Horrifying. The first few days were relatively calm, we swam in the pool in the Camelback building, which was remarkably hot. Not refreshing, unfortunately. On Friday evening, we noticed a large group of older people at the swimming pool, with coolers full of beers and cigarette smoke everywhere being very sexual. Is smoking allowed in the pool area? It seemed like wave pool was mostly socially distanced. I was still frustrated that we were told that the resort was mostly empty, but safety wasn’t a priority because packing it during the weekend was obviously the goal. I’d like to be contacted about this, but I wasn’t able to find an email for the resort.
Cabana at the Oasis Water Park
My siblings and I had the cabana all day on Sunday and it was awesome. THE A?C machines inside made the heat perfectly bearable and the social distancing style of service worked great for us! If you are planning on coming to the Oasis Water Park I highly recommend getting a cabana!
Out of town family trip
We are here now. We had stayed here when our children were much younger (13 years ago). It has gone downhill since then. We are leaving disappointed but we’re still able to make the most of it. I read these reviews now and wish I had read them prior to booking. They are pretty dead on. Honost review... 1). BED IS AMAZING 2). Not much Covid precautions taking place 3). Room was not the cleanest. Looked like had been vacant a while and a lot of dust on floor and counters. 4). After the first day we had accumulated a ton of trash and towels. No housekeeping showed up. When I called I was very rudely told there is no housekeeping due to Covid. This is a very important fact that should be stressed when making reservations. When I asked for trash to at least be picked up and we towels delivered I was greeted with attitude. 5). While we were expecting the slides and river to be closed due to Covid we were pleasantly surprised the first day that it was open. Then sad the next when it was closed. 6). The kitchenette would be much greater with a microwave. 7). When checking in I tried to upgrade (which I would have paid for) and was told no because it was after hours. 8). When I checked in I also asked to extend one more day and was also rudely told no to turn around and use the phone on the desk to call and extend a day. In general. The cleanliness of common areas outside were needing attention and staff was rude but we managed to make the best of it.
