Gross not Grand
Yikes, where to start. The only positive I can say is that when we arrived early - we flew in from east coast for a funeral - they had our room ready, and the hostess was very nice. Entering our room it had a weird smell, there was also glitter 60s all over the floor (people before us must have had a 60th party) just glitter no big deal right? Walked farther into room and there was a bug squished on the window - were off to a bad start. Bathroom shower curtain had blood? juice? not sure but again gross- we again flew in for a funeral so super last minute, nothing else nearby had availability so we had to wait it out. Maybe next day cleaners would clean it- nope- they used the same bedding, they didn't vacuum or mop or clean the squished bug on the window and the glitter 60s were still on the floor, shower substance still on the washable curtain. pull lout sofa had a huge blood stain with a thin brown cover over it - you know the brown that's supposed to be white? that one. After that day we got a text room cleaning is unavailable due to staff shortages and wouldn't be back until Monday. So, i had to spend my little available time cleaning . The pool/waterpark - oh boy- due to staff shortages the slides were open for 1 hour then the lazy river, and they would alternate per hour, so if oyu have kids that are too short for slides and river isn't open your left to the wave pool, baby pool. and main pool. People eat and drink in the pools - no one comes by collecting trash so you're swimming with spilled alcohol, bees, and trash. it was DUSGUSTING by evening. Are the lifeguards actually watching - no, no they are not. Little kids were standing on each other's shoulders doing flips by the concrete edge and lifeguards don't move a muscle. They allow kids into the pool without proper diapering as well. The pool not attached to the waterpark does not have lifeguards and is a free for all - when the water park closes everyone flocks there so if you have a room facing it/near it prepare for screaming until way past 10 (supposed to close at 10 but no one there to enforce) . Parking - this is interesting. There are not enough spots per room, the parking lot is very very tight with one way traffic and no signs to tell you which way is enter/exit. A lot of spots are reserved for the residential villas so Prepare to park very very far from your room. We did not eat on site, if they can't keep the room/recreation area clean i don't even want to see the kitchen . I did peek the menu at the waterpark - 9$ one small bowl of ice-cream , 9$ for 1 bowl of cereal and I walked away laughing . Come on now . Signs say no outside food yet red solo cups were everywhere and we were tripping over coolers to get to our seats,. Run, don't walk, from Arizona Gross .
Nothing Grand about this place anymore
This place is aged, worn, and haggard. Staff is young and inexperienced and not committed to a mission of quality guest experience. Much much better options in the valley for vacations or staycations.
We visited for the hip hop international dance competition
We stayed at the resort . For a total of 9 days . Over the course of the stay , we found mold several place and dirty air vents . A broken refrigerator. And now they are not cooperating with my refund.
Old, no nice inside territory. Can’t enjoy outside gold yard, too hot
Old-fashioned and old in all. buildings, furniture. Bathroom equipment is new, but the sewage system is old. 1 washing and drying machine for the facility. No inside territory, you walk by balconies to get to other places. Or you need to get outside of buildings go get to the reception. Nice outside backyard but you can’t enjoy it in summer, no mist, no fans there. Good golf carts service. Several restaurants around. One little bar at reception - can’t accommodate all people in the evening. Pools are small, always packed. Kids enjoyed water park. We got non-smoking room, unbearably stinky. Changed it only next day.
Worse in person
So disappointed! The actual building exterior, hotel rooms and restaurants looked so dated and run down compared to photos online. Amazing photos but different in person. My family traveled 1,800 miles for our first west coast vacation and within seconds knew we couldn’t do this for six nights. Management was very kind and refunded us.
