We might come back after they fully open...

We stayed the week after Christmas. I will start with the good. The (very few) staff we dealt with were WONDERFUL! But due to Covid, they were running on a skeleton crew. When the Oasis was open it was fun and the water was heated which was SO nice! The grounds are beautiful, very well kept and the main fountain when you come into the property was AMAZING! The food that we did get when they were open was very good for what it was (nachos, chicken strips, fries and pizza). The other pools that were open were nice and well kept as well. As for the rooms, they are plenty large for it being an older property. They are renovated and comfortable! We had asked for a nice view and they gave us a view of the water park which has the mountains in the background. We don't golf but the golf course looked beautiful! The cons: Due to Covid they were not offering many of the amenities you are paying for in the "resort fee". No airport shuttle, no shuttle to your room (which ended up being a hike for us since the property is SO big), the ONLY food options are: The gift shop cafe from 6am-12:30pm then nothing until 4pm and then you can only get pizza in the bar. It was super disappointing for us who didn't rent a car so we had to do Uber eats or some other form of delivery. It would have been nice to just be able to go down to the restaurant and have dinner but the bar literally had one employee that we could see and he was the bartender and the "cook". They do offer food at the waterpark but the waterpark was closed all but ONE day we were there! It would have been nice if the waterpark was open or we could have been credited the resort fee since we weren't even able to use it. They don't offer housekeeping during your stay, but they will bring you items if you need them, not a huge deal for us but some like the service. For the amount we paid I just expected them to have more amenities open OR reduce the rate/resort fee. My husband does want to come back when they are fully up and running so maybe we will try again!

    Wonderful time!

Had an amazing experience here at the Arizona Grand with my significant other Christmas! The Lobby bar is a chill spot for couples and the bartender was the best! The room was great on the top floor so we got a great view as well! The only thing was the showerhead being a but outdated for a hotel this nice but other than that, we will be coming again!

Filthy Hotel room caused us to ALL get sick during COVID-19

We stayed at this resort during one of the Holiday seasons at the height of the pandemic. We chose this resort over many others in the area. On their website, and when speaking to representative's over the phone, they discussed their COVID-19 procedures which included cleaning. FFWD to our stay, after our first night, I noticed that a few of us including my 7 year old were having a little trouble breathing in the AM. I thought that since there is a lot of nice foliage, bushes, and beautiful tree's on the property, we were just having regular allergy reactions to that. We spent all day at the pools, so we thought we were clearing up our sinuses during the day. When we arrived back at the room, I looked at the AC vent, and it was dark gray, with a ton of fuzz and lent all over it like it hadn't been changed in years. We immediately called the front and asked for it to be changed. I told my husband to take a pic of it because i was in total disbelief (and he didn't, great). FFWD to check-out time, my 7 year old is more congested, and has to go to back school the next day. Since it is COVID, of course she cannot go to school if she has symptoms so I take her to urgent care, sinus infection. Thank God I didn't have to give her a COVID test! Over the next couple of weeks my husband and I fight our symptoms w OTC meds and wind up in urgent care as well, one at a time. I reached out to the hotel and we emailed back and forth a number of times which was very cordial. I even took the time off from work (at their agreement) to go to the urgent care in person, request the medical records, scan them, and send them to the hotel. THEY DID NOT CARE AND DID NOTHING. My daughter's doctors notations on the day of checkout even say "WENT TO A LOCAL RESORT AND STARTED EXHIBITED SYMPTOMS AFTER AC VENT LOOKED LIKE A FUZZY CAT". After I sent the medical records, they did not respond to my email. Not even an apology or a restaurant gift certificate to cover a $7 beverage. This is after time off from work, 3 co-pays, and 3 sets of meds. What they did say is "Oh, we have no record of you calling for service from your room " (really?). That should've told me everything I needed to know. I gave them so much time to say anything or make this right before posting any review.

    Not a Grand Experience

We stayed one night, Thanksgiving. We expected to be able to order room service, but instead needed to go out to eat at the Rustlers Rooste. We arrived in the afternoon, the water park was closed, we were still charged the fee for the water park. The only place on the property to eat was the hut next to the water park. The food was fine, nachos and a burger. However there was a sewer smell in the outside dining area. The room was clean, the bedding was fresh. The bathroom was tiny, so tiny that the sink was in the bedroom. My major issue was outside lighting, or rather, lack of lighting. There was no light near our room door, so had to use flashlight on my phone to see where to insert the key card. Next to no lighting in the parking areas. Also, using the stairs to go the the Rustlers Rooste for dinner, the lighting was so poor, I missed a step and fell. I reported the fall when I checked out the next morning and was asked to meet with security and make a report. Sure. I told the security guy what happened, he took pictures of my legs and I left to continue my travels in AZ. The next day I got a message from the head of security, saying he had heard I fell at the Rustlers Rooste. Um, no. So after calling back twice to clear up the report and not reaching the gentlement who called me, I left a message saying that I fell on their property, not at the restaurant. I am positive nothing is going to change, so if you are still reading, and still want to stay here, bring a flashlight. Also, the security guy who took my accident report told us that he had had Covid, so he could not get it and he could not give it. That was his reasoning for not wearing a mask when meeting with me. So, not true...there are reports of people getting Covid more than once. He was completely appalling.

    Desert Oasis

We stayed here while my son played in a soccer tournament. Rooms were nice, kids loved the water park. We would definitely stay here again. The reason I rated a 4 and not 5 is we would have liked extended hours in the waterpark, 11-4 was tough to enjoy with the tournament hours. While the food was good there wasn't a large selection at the resort (perhaps because if Covid restrictions?). If you're traveling with kids I would definitely recommend the Arizona Grand Resort.
