I stayed here on short notice and I’m so glad I did! I had my 2 dogs also. This is more than pet friendly! They absolutely love dogs here! The rooms were clean and spacious. Actually the whole place was spotless. The on duty manager went above and beyond. She wanted to make sure that our stay was great. This hotel exceeded my expectations and I will definitely stay here again.
Great hotel in a great location
My cross country and bicycle journey lead me here for a overnight stop! The hotel is in a great locaton near many stores and food, all withibn walking distance! The lobby is the normal vibe that most Aloft hotels are known for. As was my clean and very comfortable room. This was a true rest stop, so I didnt really do much anything else on property other than use the business center. I slept perfect with no issues and was on my way pedaling in the morning. for sure would stay here again. TheBigRideforEB.com
Great Walkable Hotel
Contemporary hotel, ask for window facing 29th street so you can see Vulcan lit up at night. Walk to Salem's Diner for breakfast and read the football legend articles on the wall. Pick up chicken salad to go from O'Carr's for lunch and add a dessert from Savage's Bakery. Several bars and restaurants to choose from for dinner. Park your car in the free parking garage all weekend and walk everywhere you want to go. The hotel is immediately next door to the Homewood police station so I felt very safe.
Not worth the money
I’m sorry to be a bummer but the minute you walk in, the bare concrete floor and the cheap and cheesy lobby furniture sets the tone. It’s a low budget tacky hotel with a high price. The room seemed clean, but as we started looking around we noticed crumbs on the carpet, finger prints on all the light switches and a layer of dust on the bathroom mirror. the mattress was awful. I slept in a depression in the mattress. There was a stain on the office chair. The wallpaper was peeling and the laminate on the cheap desk was peeling back. we spelt about 6 hours and then left. Please don’t waste your money. It was $253 for a Saturday night. So not worth it.
Never stay at an aloft again
First, we didn’t get the room we booked two months ago. Second, the WiFi didn’t work. Even though this was mostly a family trip, we had a ton of work to get done. Tech service that we were referred to by the hotel would never answer the phone. We had to use our cell phones as hot spots. Third, we wanted to watch a movie. The is one price ($19.99), but then we selected the movie and it was $34.99. We called down to the front desk and he had no idea and had no suggestions. Fourth, the tv channels were really limited. No Fox News. Largest cable network, but nada. No Tylenol in the gift shop. We would have moved hotels, but we didn’t want to waste half a day. In hindsight, we should have. It’s really too bad. The location is great. In general, the staff was super nice. Except the front desk guy that couldn’t help us with a simple question. We travel a lot, and have stayed at many aloft hotels and it has never been this bad. This is our last stay. You have lost a good customer forever.
