The front desk guy burned pizza in the microwave we had to evacuate at 4 am

By far, this was the worst experience I have ever had in any establishment. At 4 AM, a blaring alarm sounded, and we evacuated. We received no instructions or information until the firefighters arrived. I went back to the front desk to confirm whether it was safe to re-enter the building. Unfortunately, the person at the front desk, who was supposed to provide information, was more concerned with explaining how the pizza he microwaved caused the smoke but didn't catch fire, only getting burned black. Meanwhile, I was just trying to check if it was safe to bring my children back into the room. He said, “Even if I had opened doors or tried to do something, the smoke would have reached the rooms.” I guess opening the outdoor doors did not occur to him until the fire department did it for him. There was no concern shown for our safety—no one asked, “Is everyone okay? Do you need anything?” All guests, including a person in a wheelchair, had to be evacuated, yet we received zero information or assistance from the hotel administration. My children's safety was my priority, not the nonsense stories from the man who was supposed to be in charge. If he cannot handle a microwave, he shouldn't be managing the front desk.

Great Staff, Great Location, Great time

I have never visited such a nice place with nice people. My wife and I booked a room to get away for a night. We have had a family tragedy and as we walked in Audra greeted us with such a welcome and enthusiastic welcome. She really started us off on the right foot. The staff called us by name the whole next day and just was so kind and helpful. We loved breakfast and overall had a great time. Thanks so much for!!!

    Pesto Overdose

As a Hilton Honors Gold member, I've stayed at numerous Hilton locations both domestically and internationally. The DoubleTree by Hilton in Park City, formerly known as The Yarrow, is beautifully situated with stunning views and convenient access to all local attractions. You're even next to a grocery store, which is quite handy. The room cleaning staff and front desk personnel were professional and provided satisfactory service. Now, on to the less favorable aspects of my stay. The hotel features a restaurant, The 1800 Cafe, where I found breakfast to be a safe bet. However, after a four-night stay, I strongly advise against dining there for any other meals. Though the prices are comparable to average dining in Park City, the quality was disappointing. I attempted to order the Beef Wellington. Unfortunately, it was prepared using flatbread dough, typically used for pizza. The dough was undercooked, oily, stretchy, and overall a disaster. More concerning was their use of pre-cooked beef, which I suspect might have been leftovers. On my visit on Wednesday, May 21st, the meat was rancid, and even the mushroom sauce couldn't mask the smell of spoilage. I brought this to the attention of the server, who faced communication challenges due to a language barrier. When I requested the dish be removed from my bill, he explained that only the manager, available in the morning, could make such adjustments. In the end, I was charged $25 for an inedible dish. Additionally, I tried the Caprese Sandwich, which should be simple yet delicious, typically made with buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, pesto, and a balsamic vinegar reduction. Unfortunately, this too was a letdown and far from what one would expect. They slathered a thick layer of pesto, about 4 cm, on both sides of the toasted bread—a layer so generous that it surpassed the combined thickness of the thinly sliced tomato and mozzarella. The pesto carried the classic flavors of pine nuts, basil, garlic, and olive oil. While the taste was not unpleasant, the abundance of pesto was overwhelming. It soaked the once-crispy bread in olive oil, rendering it soggy and greasy. The surprise element? A balsamic vinegar glaze drizzled over the entire sandwich. Picking it up was akin to handling an olive oil and balsamic-covered burger, leaving my fingers slick and stained. This attempt at culinary flair turned the simplest item on the menu into the messiest. Repeated burping kept me revisiting the pesto taste throughout the night. This was more than a pesto sandwich; it was an oily concoction garnished with minimal tomato and mozzarella. The next day, I expected to be haunted by the vibrant green of pesto as I bid farewell to the night's meal. On the bright side, the fries were absolutely divine! Now, onto the blackened fish dish: a simple preparation of lightly breaded fish, grilled to perfection. However, the seasoning was so heavy that the edges of the fish were crunchily burnt. The fish itself was moist, but all we could taste was the overpowering seasoning, which carried a savory yet burnt aroma throughout. Service during the mid-season was significantly scaled back, making it difficult to find assistance from the restaurant staff. My wife and I ended up retrieving our own menus, seating ourselves, and waiting. After 10 minutes, we heard some noise in the back area. I knocked on the door leading to the dishwashing area, where we found a staff member on their cell phone. He noticed me and called for the chef, who then asked for a waiter. The waiter finally arrived 15 minutes after we had initially sat down. As it was the mid-season, the dining area seemed desolate; for two out of the three nights, we dined alone in the entire restaurant. Is this solely due to the slow season, or could it be attributed to erratic service and rather unsatisfactory food? I should note that breakfast was delightful, and we never encountered any issues during the two times we dined there. Overall, while the hotel's location and views are commendable, the restaurant leaves much to be desired. I recommend exploring other dining options during your stay.

    Stay away

STEER CLEAR. So many better places to be in Park City. Gross hotel to start off with. The location was practically empty so one of my colleagues was told she could have a late check out then the gal at the front desk got in trouble so they CHARGED US a second night. Even though they told us it was not a problem. No matter who I called or what I did nobody was willing to help. Had a big block of rooms for a work event and it was worth it to them to charge me an extra $138 So basically it is a gross hotel and not worth staying there because you are at risk of having your card charge because you take the front desk for their word, and you have NO recourse. I travel all over for business - this will obviously be our last time at Hilton.

Great location, easy parking, nice staff, the property a little dated

Location - excellent ; right off the main highway; plenty of parking , with enough parking access for those with handicap placard ( at least during slow season) The staff - all polite and courteous ; but I need to give a big shout out to Mike, one of the staff members working the front desk on a recent Sat am. When he saw that I was traveling with my elderly parents , he gave us lots of useful tips and he was most helpful and welcoming . I really appreciate his great service . The rooms and the property - here is why I’m giving this place a 4 star rating instead of 5. The property seems dated , and the rooms and hallways are dark and somewhat depressing looking . There is nothing wrong per se, with the rooms ; they are roomy enough and clean , but they seem old and depressing . Breakfast - fairly average , but I really appreciate the fruit option in many of their dishes: when one orders many of the main dishes for break, it comes with option for potatoes or fruit . The fruits that came with the main courses are fresh , with very generous serving size and good variety . A very nice touch Overall, a good stay … I would definitely recommend this place … just keep your expectations not too high when it comes to appearance of hallways and the rooms
