Beware $45/night resort fee
When I tried to check in they extorted me for an additional $45. This was not disclosed and ended up making the room not competitive for the area. I had already paid for the "room" though and had really no choice but to pay it. My advice is to avoid the Nugget unless you want to pay $45 more per night than what you expect.

Pictures say alot
Always stay at Nugget. Dated yes. Fun usually food normally ok. Not this trip used my free nights. My Friend and I got migraine headaches from the noise coming through a hole in the wall at the window frame. When I pulled the curtain back for day light the blue tape came ripping off the wall it was stuck to the curtains. Head of housekeeping came in took the tape told his partner and said (unbelievable I can't bend this!) so they put us in a new room offered us an extra night to rest but made us pay $235 because it was Fri. So I wasted 3 nights and In stead of giving us a comp back they charged us. The building inspector would of had fun with the wind blowing through the hole in the wall. They didn't care. We had 2 sleepless night on my comps oh joy. Good at oyster bar becoming less in quality they didn't even have any bread to go with our soup sold out they said? Seriously?

Don't expect your deposit back right away. And don't expect any hot water or water pressure either.
Getting the deposit back is impossible. Nobody will listen to you everybody keeps giving me lip service. I have spent day after day after day trying to get a hold of anybody that even oversees the hotel which is again next to impossible. If you're trying to get your deposit back at the time of check out then this is not the place you want to stay. Customer service is absolutely lacking. No coffee pots in the rooms when I requested one they told me I had to pay $10 for it. When I asked for more coffee they told me that a refill was an additional $8. Not to mention there's no hot water or even water pressure in the showers at all. For what it costs after the resort fees and the taxes and all the other hidden fees that are included in your time of stay, you'd be better off going to the Ramada or the econo lodge. Especially if budget is an issue. Don't come here looking for five star service just because it's a big hotel. That's not what you're going to get.

Old John would be disgusted with his establishment, No Class
Surprisingly they have started cleaning up there act. Since the last time I was there in 2024 they have cleaned the blood and brains off elevator 1 in the west tower, that was nice of them. The smoke alarms that went off at three in the morning and management left us standing outside in the middle of the night while the homeless from the train tracks lurked around to rob us, mind you we were they for a kids event. The mini pro bull riding series. The elevator stalled out twice and I was lock on it for quite some time. The only perk was World Champion Bull Rider Cody Custer was on it with me. So yes I have a witness to that experience. I waited for 45 mins for my luggage to be pushed 15 ft to my car, and when I went for help they guy was picking his nose and their wasn’t a single person in line in front of me. When I got my bags I questioned if someone hadn’t rifled through them. Their slots are so tight you couldn’t get a win if you had the chance be of the rainbow in your back pocket. The phones didn’t work. I was told to have my kids call from there room as proof to get an extra key….. phones don’t work. There’s no WiFi The pool staff must be tired of working because they didn’t want to give the kids towels and they had to leave the pool soaking wet. Everyone expects a tip but their service is complete sh**! What in the Wild West is going on! This establishment supports drugs thugs and cheap hookers. Terrible But I will say this. It has improved a bit

Simple free play period starts from 8am til midnight.
So difficult to inquiry information on your free play with the representative Arlene who doesn’t listen to the question(s). I advised her that I was here last week around midnight and I was scheduled to have free play til Th and start again Fri. If there is a cut off or time period ? She states she couldn’t check last week. She said she can only check this week. So I rephrased and asked so I have free play til what time on the 6th ? Midnight . Ok, when does my next free play start on the 7th ? 8am. Shaking my head.
