Great Hotel with a Cool 80's Feel, for Us Older Folk

My family and I loved this hotel, even as we were approaching it from outside. Very cool retro look. Inside was a clean, fun-filled, colourful space. They have a pool, games room, bowling area and work out room. My kids had so much fun, they would have been happy staying at the hotel during the entire trip. Okay, not really, but they had a blast here! As did the adults. The food was great, rooms were sparkling clean and I really appreciated the secondary privacy room for us early risers, so not to disturb the others. All in all, we had a great experience and would highly recommend.

    Loved Cabana Bay!

We are 100% a Disney family! We decided this year to try Universal Orlando as well! After researching, I decided to stay at Cabana Bay and I’m so happy I did! Check in was very easy, the staff was very helpful and provided me with a map of the property as well as information regarding hours, etc of pools and parks. They also made me aware of the covid-19 mask, daily temp checks and social distancing policies. These were all enforced and guests were compliant. We felt very safe. I booked a volcano view room and it did not disappoint! It was beautiful! We also had a perfect view of the lazy river at cabana bay! The only drawback to the volcano view room was that it was a LOOOONG walk from the front desk/food court. There was an elevator right down to the pool area from our hallway! It is also VERY close to the hotel guest entrance to volcano bay. The room was VERY clean and we loved the retro touches even down to the V-05 toiletries and zest bar soaps! The beds were very comfortable. The pool was amazing and we LOVED the lazy river! Make sure to bring your own tube style float or they have them for purchase. Around 10.00 if I remember right?? They also had life jackets in many sizes available to borrow. The food court was good and had a nice variety. We took advantage of the fun bowling alley right inside the hotel! It was around 10.00 per person for 45 mins. The Jack La Lange fitness center is one of the most amazing hotel gyms I’ve seen! It was equipped with lots of cardio machines, room for yoga and yoga mats, lots of weights. There was cool memorabilia as well. Check it out even if you don’t use the facility! There is also a Universal Orlando gift shop that is well stocked on the first floor next to the Starbucks. The bus service to the parks was better than Disney bus service. Overall it was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Cabana Bay and we can’t wait to go back! The parks were great too!

Affordable with Great Food Options for Families

My son and I stayed here for 5 nights and he loved using both pools! The pool with the slide is only open on the weekends currently, so keep that in mind. Compared to the more expensive Universal hotels, I felt that the cleanliness was lacking here, at least in the rooms. We enjoyed the passholder perks for dining at Bayliner Diner. All of his meals were free as long as I bought my own. It helped us afford eating all week. The staff at the Starbucks were very friendly and helpful, as well as the gift shop. We moved from a standard room on the lazy river side to the pool slide side for our last two nights, so that we could easily enjoy both pools. It was a great time, with an exception of many of the families on the exterior side of the hotel not respecting wearing masks or social distancing. Like families of 8 people just walking around with no masks. My son and I kept having to go out of our way to avoid these people. On our last day, a lady in our building was sitting outside her room in a living room chair smoking a cigarette. Classy. After that we were happy to move over to Aventura for the remainder of our trip. Overall, it's a great place, but after 5 nights we were itching to get back to Sapphire Falls and Hard Rock where most of the guests follow the rules.

    Great Budget Friendly Universal Hotel!

Walk-able to Volcano Bay and shuttles to the rest of the parks. It's not a luxury hotel by any means, but absolutely perfect if you are mainly planning on doing Universal and few days at Disney. Really nice fire pits outside, and the lazy river was great, especially if you get up early when it opens and are the only ones in it.

    Bad customer service

This company really doesn't go above and beyond. Save your money and go to Disney resorts. Loews hotels are overall bad. Left a family with 4 kids out of the room for hours because of the travel agencys screw up. Save up and go to Disney resorts they know how to treat their customers.
