An Amazing Resort
Our stay here was amazing and the kids had so much fun. The pools, lazy river, and arcade were great. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back for our next trip to universal.
The resort was amazing!! We spend a full day just exploring the hotel and relaxing by the multiple pools, including the lazy river, lounging at the bars, and having a great time in the bowling alley! The staff was all absolutely wonderful! Some of the friendliest people! The rooms had thin walls and the beds were not the most comfortable, but you get what you pay for, and this is one of Universal’s cheap resorts. That being said, my experience was excellent and I’d definitely come back!
Trip April 2021. Do not stay there
Bad cleanliness and terrible experience. Won’t be back, they don’t ever visit your room for any reason. Had to complain to have things done. Trash all over the hallways because room service never came. If your worried about sanitary issue steer clear, you’ll have to navigate people’s trash as you walk to your room. They don’t pick up during the day.
Friendliest Most Helpful Staff
Staff goes above and beyond. Only thing missing was valet parking and help with luggage (thanks COVID 19). Great transportation to the parks via frequent buses. Lots of food options. Need to book the bowling the same day only, so you have to be there an hour before they open. We missed bowling again!
Don’t stay here for a relaxing vacay
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, this ain’t it! Not great for just adults. It’s an OK place to stay if you have kids, want to be close to Volcano Bay, and get early access to the parks, but the resort itself is not run well. Don’t expect good service, cleanliness, or peacefulness WHATSOEVER. It’s not as classy as the other Universal Orlando resorts. The hotel layout is cool, it has cool amenities (when they’re open) and decent rooms. But it isn’t a relaxing calm place to stay on vacation and decompress. There’s screaming kids everywhere and loud noises early in the morning and at night. The staff is crabby AF and shuts down the amenities early. They go around slamming down the pool chairs and taking towels 40 min before the pools are supposed to close. Staff hovers over the guests around the pools with bad attitudes. The manager Emmanuel something is extremely unaccommodating and rude, and neither him nor anyone else amongst the staff gives AF about the guests. If there’s bad weather and amenities are shut down, or if they shut down the amenities for any other reason, they’re like oh well we can’t do anything. If they schedule maintenance on the amenities they won’t tell you before you pay, they’ll tell you on the day of and say oh well. They never offer compensation if you have any inconveniences. If you pay for a pool view or volcano view you might get a view of the parking lot or the sandy sidewalks, and they won’t do anything about it. The manager Emmanuel acknowledged that there were inconsistencies with what his staff was enforcing. I think they must’ve changed managers since we last stayed here because 3 years ago we had a better experience. The only nice staff are the ladies in the diner. Also, it’s supposed to be a non-smoking facility, but there were many people smoking around the hotel in the outside areas. The pool gates wouldn’t open with our room keys half the time. The parking lot gates are a pain because you have to swipe a room key to get out. The pools are cold and they opened the lazy river when it was dirty, full of leaves and lizards and cold, but closed it down the next day when the weather was nice and it was clean. I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $130/night for this place, if the rate is any more than that just stay somewhere better.
