    Our Honeymoon

We had the best time. Staff was wonderful! The place was clean. However we didn’t like that the pool closed at 7 everyday! Also the beds were a little uncomfortable. Overall our stay, the staff & shows in the bar were great!

    Relaxing and fun

Great choice for a relax but vacation. Staff was very inviting and the service was amazing. The food was pretty good especially the jerk chicken station by the pool. Bartenders make the experience more lively.

    So disappointed

Worst vacation ever. Been all over the Caribbean but never been to a Riu property or the Bahamas. It started the day before we left and my daughters seat was “dropped” by the airlines forcing us to buy a seat for $99 because all the seats that weren’t upgrades were taken. We booked this trip and had seats assigned in March! This is certainly not the resorts fault but things didn’t get any better. Upon arrival, even though I spent 20 min doing the online checkin the day before, and got confirmation emails everyone was checked in, they “didn’t show our info” and it still took 20 min to check in. The Beach was beautiful but the man who set up the chairs and umbrellas every morning was grumpy and rude even when tipping him $10 each morning. I attempted to set up my own chairs after the second day to avoid him and he ran over and told me he had to do it. I again tipped him but nothing made him drop the attitude. Beach/pool service was terrible, there was some sort of haphazard “line” which didn’t mean anything if someone cut the line and shouted enough. The Staff, with the exception of one lady at the coffee shop and the most of the servers in the a la carte restaurants, was rude and unwelcoming. Property very run down. Had to change our keycards every day. Staff rudely told us to keep them away from our phones, which we did - they were in a pocket of the beach bag nowhere near the phone. We asked every day to have someone check our card reader, as that had to be the problem, which no one ever did. Had to go to the bar every morning because the coffee shop didn’t open till 10, and the bartenders acted annoyed to have to make coffee a couple days. The resort still uses towel cards? No one wants to steal your crappy threadbare towels! And to top it all off, money was stolen from our room. I discovered this on the second day when I realized our safe wasn’t secured because the tie on the robe was hanging down and kept it from locking properly. Was this my error, of course. But does that justify someone stealing from me? Absolutely not. Was there a connection between that and the fact that our room keys never worked and the key card reader obviously was the problem? Maybe? When I went to the desk every day to inquire about the “investigation” was treated like I was the criminal. Got an email the last day that management was “unable to reach me and I needed to visit the desk.” When I did, the manager had no idea why I was there. When I explained, yet again, that our room had been robbed, she handed me a carbon copy form to fill out with my “complaint.”After returning home, both myself and my travel agent wrote detailed letters to management and the tour operator. After weeks we finally received a response. They basically said it was my fault for not locking the safe and issued a $300 credit, which wasn’t even what was stolen. Overall, I will never stay at a Riu property ever again and will not go back to the Bahamas. I’m a very friendly and polite person. I don’t nitpick and usually don’t write bad reviews because the good always outweighs the negative at all inclusives. They’re not perfect, they service thousands of people every day. The staff is usually fun and friendly, which is one of the best parts of the Caribbean experience and keeps us coming back year after year. But in this case I couldn’t wait to go home on day 3 of an 8 day vacation. A lot of travelers complain here about the beach vendors. In my opinion, they were one of the only bright spots of our time at this resort. They were funny, welcoming, and friendly even though we never bought a thing from them. That tells me, the Bahamian people weren’t the problem, the Riu was. If you go to the Bahamas, pick another resort

    A lovely relaxing holiday

This is a very well run establishment in every aspect, we found the staff very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend. There were 5 different restaurants to choose from we probably liked the buffet one best due to the incredible selection.
