Sep 25, 2023Listen to the others. Don't Go. Go somewhere else, or another island
Posting this for a second time, first post was removed. Hmmmmm wonder who that could've been.... Just like the other recent reviews say. Something has changed obviously or there must be a lot of purchased reviews. Lack of communication. Extortion for tips. Slow and angry service. Renovations all over the resort but minimal work. Restaurants randomly closed for the night. Generally the food is very lackluster with minimal options on the Breathless side. The Dreams side had more options for food but was the same average to below average quality. The French restaurant was the only good meal I had. Some workers enforce a dress code, others don't, was told to change, did out of respect to come back to the restaurant to see the other half of the patrons not following the dress code. Rooms aren't insulated so you'll hear everything. I mean everything. Turned my hottub on the balcony on and bugs came out from every jet. Poor water pressure. Toilets broke one night because there was no cold water. This usually isn't an issue but when the resort gives 80% of your party food poisoning, the toilets are needed. A gentleman had to come with a bucket of water to flush my toilet while I had food poisoning. Pools are generally dirty, found a couple cockroaches swimming with me. Waiters & servers don't speak English very well and its hard to communicate with a majority of them. Save your money. Go somewhere else that you will be able to enjoy your vacation.

Host/Check-in: A++ Firstly, Emilio our host, made this experience special. From the start, he asked specific questions to help elevate our experience. We received a text message every morning with a list of the days activities to help organize our day. We had dinner reservations made for us, and some friends we made, at one of the restaurants. He always greeted us with a warm smile when we saw him around and was overly communicative with our every need. Rooms: B+ To be fair, it looks like the resort was undergoing a remodel. The rooms were dated and had surface level imperfections. There was some insect activity, we live in FL so we know how impossible it is to be bug free in a tropical climate, so it didn't bother us too much- but it may bother some others. The bed was extremely comfortable and cleaning crew did a great job of restocking. Room Service was also prompt and available. Resort/Atmosphere: C- Luckily Breathless allows you access to Dreams property. Breathless property was very outdated and bland. If you've never been to an all-inclusive you'll probably be impressed... By Vacation Club standards this missed the mark. The positives though- Entertainment was good, Activities were plentiful and the staff was super friendly. However, Dreams resort blew breathless out of the water- But you get access to Dreams while staying on Breathless property. Alcohol/Food: D This is where they lost us. Food was cruise line quality and alcohol was bottom shelf- Although both were plentiful. The one big tip is find the restaurants that cook the food fresh- Egg station at the buffet, Blue Ocean Steak House and the Hibachi Grill. Pro Tip- Bring small bills and tip your bartenders- A few bucks goes a long way. Overall- C+ We stayed at Secrets Akumal in Mexico and maybe they set the bar very high for this Resort Company. Breathless Punta Cana just fell short to what we expected after our Secrets stay. HOWEVER, we still had a great time and the staff made our stay special!

The stay was excellent! The staff and the workers made my stay one I would love to do again. Looky and his group made the entertainment the greatest. Riki was very good and teaching the dance lessons.

Breathless September 2023
The beach and island are beautiful and so relaxing. Entertainment staff keep the vibe going into the evening, especially the male dancers they would get the ladies involved in the dance party etc. My only issue was the resort was under construction so parts of the resort were closed ,like the sports bar and some restaurants. To offset the restaurant closures they rotated the restaurants at a different venue. Just be sure to ask if anything is closed. It would have been nice to know before we booked.

A Special Holiday to Renew our 29th Wedding anniversary, was so special, thanks to this fantastic hotel and staff.
From the moment we arrived from the UK we were made to feel special. Our Butler Yimi Ramos Yan, who took care of us throughout was Awsome. His attention to detail our stay, was impressive. Thanks Yimi 😊. The Wedding planner Ruth, made our special day feel magical. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious with a fabulous view. Huge bed, really comfortable. The Restaurants were great, and the food delicious. The Nook Coffee shop, our favourite dinner time spot to get relief from the hot sunshine (not complaining lol). Daisy and Randy were wonderful Barristers, we miss their smiling faces. The Beach was always kept clean and tidy, the tractor was out at the crack of dawn raking the soft sand. Everywhere you looked, there was an army of staff constantly checking that all was pristine, and all smiling whilst working. Friendly and so helpful. 5 Stars to Breathless. We look forward to our next visit miss you all already.
