    The Staff Are Phenomenal- HIGHLY RECOMMEND

    Just got back from a girls' trip. We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid Main for 4 days and i have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Every interaction was a pleasant one. The front desk staff set a bar so high that i thought it would be hard for the other staff to follow but they proved me wrong. Akile, Tahesha and Yushyka went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. It was smiles and genuine conversations every time we spoke. The best part is after the first interaction they remembered my name throughout my entire stay, and that made my stay feel a lot more personal. Diana in the lobby bar took the baton and ran with it. She is ALWAYS smiling and always ready to serve your every drink need. When you go, ask her to make you her signature 'Suicide' drink. Thank me later. Karen at the lobby bar was also awesome. She was engaging and kept it real. Sitting and chatting with her didnt feel strange at all or forced. She is a genuine sweetheart. Freestyle Freestyle Freestyle... Bingo at the pool with you and dance classes will forever be a memory i cherish. The bellhops were all equally great. Shout out to Robert and Hopeton for taking exceptional care of me. From check in to check out, I felt catered to. Hopeton always addressed me by name. Its heartwarming that after the first interaction, and having to interact with so many people, they effortlessly are uniquely able to identify each guests. Thank you everyone. Because of your hospitality, i am inclined to make Secrets Wild Orchid my go to hotel when i visit. Oh the food is great, the food option seems endless. The property is clean and beautiful. I focused on the staff because they are the highlight of my trip.

    Great memories

    My experience at the Preferred Resort was fantastic. Shane and Matthew went above and beyond to ensure the needs of my suite as well as others visiting the resort with us, were met. Hospitality is A1. Sasha Gay ensured all comforts were met when dining. The staff at this resort a class act. I look forward to seeing Matthew again. I feel like I have a new family member. Matthew greeted my husband and I so warmly daily and attended to our needs. He was amazing! - The Dwyers

    Get service from Matthew

    The location is very great. Matthew is so awesome in the preferred side. He really makes your trip one of a kind. This is our second visit and we really appreciate having service from people like Matthew. The food was good. Overall the hospitality was wonderful some of the rooms need some upgrading however it was overall a good time.

    Honeymoon trip

    We booked secrets wild orchid preferred club as it was our honeymoon and wanted something special - upon arrival we were taken to the preferred club building by a lovely gentleman (Robert) and was checked in by Regina. We were offered a drink but after a 9.5 hour flight we just wanted to get to our room to refresh. They had our room requests of a high floor, quiet and had noted on our booking it was our honeymoon. We were given a high room on the quiet side of the building. Upon entering the room the it all seems nice but nothing special (even though the resort knew it was our honeymoon) and the lovely Matthew brought our bags to our room. Wendy noticed that hand soap was missing and we called to request this 3 times with the operator and was told it would be on the way (it never arrived). The first night we decided to go to Blue Mountain for dinner and the service that we received was appalling (if we weren’t exhausted from travelling we would have walked out). The server barely acknowledged us, didn’t introduce themselves (as they were to other dinners), took 15 minutes to just get a glass of water, another 10 to then come and take our food order and drinks (other dinners were being seated after us and served sooner with their food and drink arriving faster), we were very shocked with this service given how friendly everyone seemed that worked their. We used the jacuzzi tub on the balcony and it kept switching itself on throughout that night. We used the toilet in the room and the cistern was wobbly on first look however once flushed would constantly be filling up (throughout the night) but got to the point where it just wouldn’t flush. Due to jet lag we woke up around 4am and the toilet was still filling up, we went to see if there was anyone at reception (no one at preferred club so had to go to main reception), there was no one there even though signs said there should have been and had to call the operator to get them to call the front desk. We dealt with the night manager (Edward) who came to our room to see the issues who basically said we just needed to bash and wiggle the flush on the stop it from trying to fill up constantly. Whilst my husband was trying to explain all the issues we had incurred so far Edward kept trying to talk over him making excuses like it’s the chlorine they put in the water that means the toilets don’t work properly. We requested to move rooms based on the issues and highlighted the issues that we had at dinner as well but nothing could be done until a reasonable time that morning which we fully understood. At about 9am that morning my husband went to check to see if Edward had followed through with sending the email to management with all of our issues on and he did, this is when we met the fabulous Lisa at the preferred club check in desk. She was a god send, she changed our room, arranged for a bellhop Chavaughn to move our bags and the special honeymoon package to be added to our booking. This meant that we had a honeymoon banner on the door, champagne in the room, a champagne breakfast. But most importantly a working toilet! This change was within 12 hours of us making the complaint. We then decided that we wanted to do a romantic dinner and speaking to Lisa again if we could provide evidence that we got married within the last 90 days we would get this included along with a couples massage but no one had mentioned this when we originally checked in, but luckily I had read about this on other reviews and took one of our wedding invites as evidence we were asked to bring down the letter we had in our room along with this but the one we had been given the wrong letter. Lisa got us a new letter with all of the benefits we were entitled to. We had a few days were we had been missed by house keeping with them writing that the don’t disturb was on the door or it was double locked when we weren’t in the room, we raised this with Lisa and she requested that our room was cleaned between 12-1 each day and was everyday after that request. We had check in calls from management to see how things were going and updates. For the romantic dinner we were told to be there 15 minutes before our booked time at the meeting place, there was no one there, it got to our booked time and husband had to go and find someone and she was supposed to be at that desk but she was sat elsewhere just chilling. One thing I would note is that the evening entertainment leaves a lot to be desired, the quality of it is poor and very repetitive, with the same songs being played again and again. There almost needs to be a 2 week rotation rather than 1 week for those that are staying for a longer period of time. They need to take some learnings from Europe’s all inclusives and their evening entertainment programmes. We left most nights after 5 minutes due to boredom. However I would say I was very impressed with the silver birds steel orchestra they were amazing and you could see the effort that they were putting in. Nothing was too much for Lisa she always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello, asked how things were going and what our plans were for the day. She made our honeymoon what it should have been from the start, special. Every time we saw Matthew he remembered our names, greeted us with a smile on his face and made an effort to ask how things were going. Chavaughn was the same, call us golf carts when it was raining and we needed to go to the spa at the other end of the resort so we didn’t get soaked through. We booked the hibachi restaurant and we were unexpectedly the only people on our table and Glendon did an amazing job of entertaining just the 2 of us and adjusting what he was doing (husband isn’t a massive participation person) we fully appreciate this. All the waiters that we had after the blue mountain experience were better, but our favourite was Orville at portofino, he was very efficient, friendly and changed our view on the servers.
