The Best Vacation We Have Had - Tremendous Resort
What an amazing place! We spent a week in June at SCC and, honestly, it was one of our very best family vacations - now that our kids are adults! It was 100% "Excellente"!!! We did go Preferred and felt like the extra, for our family was totally worth it. The people who work there are all amazing and really do seem to enjoy being around us tourists. Restaurants: We tried all the restaurants and found Oceana to be our favorite. The scallops appetizer is amazing! Do not miss it! And the Beurre Blanc sauce on different fish choices was also fantastic as was the Shrimp Tandorri! Being completely honest, we found Bordeaux to be our least favorite. Just the overall vibe and the food just wasn't for us. But we did love the Margarita Cart in El Patio! One note about the restaurants... It appears they have stopped enforcing the dress codes. There were guys in shorts and t-shirts in both Bordeaux and Portofino. Activities: We did a few things, but mainly enjoyed our time around the Preferred Pool. And wow, what a difference between the main pool and the preferred pool. Lots of energy and things going on at the main pool, while the preferred pool was more about just chilling or having conversations with people you've just met. We found the water to be the perfect temperature in both pools. Definitely take part in a few things. It's a great way to meet people. We did a few things (archery, darts, water volleyball), but Karaoke was by far the most fun! If you have never done it before, go for it here. Everyone joins in and you really don't feel like you're alone up there singing a solo. Nobody in our family had done Karaoke before, and we had an aboslute blast! Just below that in ranking the best of the fun (maybe even a tie), was the Queen show! Seriously - whatever the resort is paying that band, they should double it! They are awesome! All of the shows were good, but that one was by far the best! Service: As you have probably read in other posts, the service cannot be beat. Everyone there, with very few exceptions, seems to love their job and they seem to love being around and helping out their guests. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is. We were never left wanting anything. In fact, we left our final day with hugs from several people who work there. We absolutely loved them all. Some of the friends who stood out to us in particular, for one reason or another were, in Rosewater: Rigoberto, Richal (yeehaw!), Kelia, Wanel, and Alberto (who seemed to be everywhere with the kindest smile). Olga and Xiomara on the beach, Maria and Bioty by the pool, Angel, Ladie (no Gaga!) and William for activities. The two gentlemen who ran Karaoke were also amazing and I'm sad I did not get their names. Rooms: We had two rooms - our daughters in one with two queen beds and us in one king bed. We were supposed to be tropical view, but we could still see the ocean, which was nice. When we got in the rooms, we could tell it was humid (it is a tropical place after all) and there a bit of a musty smell, so we wound up asking for dehumidifiers for each room. I would say that would be a definite to get. They're a bit loud, but they do a great job. We emptied ours about 3x per day, one of which was as we went to bed. We never had it fill up during the night, although the one in our daughter's room did which meant they had to get up and empty it. One thing I will bring next time, however, is a small bottle of fabric refresher. Once the musty dampness gets in your clothes, a little refresher would be nice. The rooms and the bathrooms were great. Wifi seemed strong enough, including on the beach, but the TVs didn't really get a great signal for some reason. Speaking of TV's, we took a Firestick with us, just in case, and never wound up hooking it up. The TV is mounted to the wall with a wooden frame around it, so I couldn't do it myself. I asked and they said maintenance would be happy to do it, but we wound up not needing it. Just know that, at least in our room, you can't hook up a firestick on your own. A couple of notes: Turn on the green light (you'll see what I mean) to get your room cleaned. The doors close loudly, so close them gently if you can. Otherwise the rooms are really quiet! If you drink tea, there's not much in the room for you. Either bring something or you can ask for a kettle. The floors can be slippery when they get wet. Just be careful. Beach: The beach itself is totally fine, don't let the seaweed/sargassum scare you. The preferred end is upwind which helps keep the smell away and they literally work all day to stay on top of it. I heard in the very early morning, before they start clearing it, the smell is the worst. But we are not early risers, so it didn’t affect us at all. We walked as much beach as we could, and it definitely got worse the farther away from Secrets you got. The water experience is up to you. It's no deeper than waist deep really far out. We waded out to the seaweed barrier on a day when it looked like the seaweed was on the lighter side. We hopped over the barrier, waded through more seaweed and got out to the beautiful clear water. It wasn't bad. The bottom close to the beach is kind of slimy right now, but out in the clear water it's normal beach sand. Side Notes: There is a rule that says no speakers, however, the last couple of days, there was a group with a speaker. If we had been near them, we would have been pretty annoyed that the rule was not being enforced. Amstar transfers were great. Only thing we did not like was having to sit and listen to a sales pitch for excursions, just to get a return trip appointment. Overall, absolutely tremendous resort (Excellente!) and highly recommended.

Another excellent stay!!!
Wow, this place never disappoints! This was my 5th time at the resort and there is a reason I keep coming back! Did preferred this trip and Anibal is the BEST!!! If you do preferred you definitely want to ask for him. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the absolute best it can be! Yes, the seaweed was bad this time (more than usual) but we met some really great people around the pool. This is definitely a place you want to stay!

Best All Inclusive!
Secrets Cap Cana is the best all inclusive! The staff is the most attentive, caring and fun staff you will ever meet. They make you feel so special. The food and drinks are great too! Me and my husband were not preferred and the drinks were always strong and the food was great! Would definitely recommend! We didn’t have a single complaint!

Fantastic Resort!
Just returned from a group trip and had an absolute blast! The property is huge and meticulously maintained with amazing landscaping and friendly staff. The only drawback from our time there was the seaweed on the beach but that seems to be seasonal. I would definitely recommend this resort as well as the preferred upgrade with butler. We had Ricardo for the few days there and he went above and beyond...always with a huge smile!
