    Disappointing Experience

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel, especially considering we were traveling with our 1-year-old son who has a heart condition and requires refrigerated medication. The night before our departure, we politely asked the front desk to freeze some ice packs so we could keep his very sensitive heart medication cold during the flight home. What should have been a simple request turned into an unnecessarily complicated situation. The staff seemed completely unprepared and unsure of how to handle it (this or any other simple question during our stay), ultimately telling us they couldn’t do anything until a manager arrived—despite it being a basic health-related need….freezing ice packs. The next morning, as we were leaving for the airport, they couldn’t locate the lunchbox or ice packs we had left with them. This caused unnecessary stress and delay, especially because I had clearly explained multiple times that the medication is highly sensitive to heat and loses its effectiveness if not kept cold ultimately putting my kid in danger. We have traveled extensively with our son and have never encountered this level of confusion or lack of empathy at any other hotel. It truly felt like we were asking for something unreasonable, when in reality, we were simply trying to keep our child’s medication safe. Pretty sure we are not their first guests asking them to freeze ice packs. I never write negative reviews but this was super upsetting and I’m just worried this might happen to other families being located in such a kid friendly place. It is stressing enough as parents of young kids having to deal with a condition and medication.

Why aren’t there more Kate’s in the world?!

Kate the bartender, was amazing! She is very attentive and made sure I have a beverage in my hand and snacks to snack on! Why aren’t there more Kate’s in the world?

    Lipstick on a pig…is a pretty pig

I’ve stayed at the property once before just overnight and it was late, so I’m thinking my previous perceptions were way off for a longer visit. We stayed here for four nights and on day one, I had to switch rooms due to maintenance and cleaning issues. Pros: Location is perfect to all things Disney Parking, even paid is a super easy walk from the lot Pool area is good Staff is very accommodating and cordial Cons: Housekeeping is atrocious - I watched the same cup sit in the elevator area for four days and never was a vacuum run on my entire floor. There were blood stains on my fitted sheets which makes think they never change the fitted sheets and there’s so much dirt and buildup in the bathrooms, they’ve never seen a deep cleaning. Sanitation is questionable at best - back to my point about poor housekeeping Wearing is showing - it was a previous resort and they slapped some paint and new name on it, but did not take time to elevate this property to align to the Renaissance brand. Valet Parking is $38/day and they literally walk across the driveway with the car, so nonsensical to even offer this service. Resort fee - you’re charging $50/day for what reason? This isn’t a mega resort, it’s cute but it’s not on par with a JW or other high end resort, but you’ll give it partially back in the form of a limited food credit? Makessense to whom. No working ice machines on the floors, go to the cafe or restaurant. No onsite laundry for self service, really? Overall, it worked for our week, but I certainly won’t recommend or return. I was terrified to let my toddler walk barefoot in the room and the one time she did, her feet were black on the bottom with some other trash remnants from the carpet, totally grossed us out. The executives overseeing this site have failed the Marriott brand. If not for the awesome staff, my complaint meter would be through the roof.

Great Hotel - just avoid the any school events

We stayed here in April and this hotel is good in areas and okay in areas. I will say It is presented when booking as premium - some bits are and others aren't. The location is perfect, really pretty and convenient for disney springs. The walk is really lovely. The staff for the most part are really amazing. The house keeping service was great, the staff at the reception were lovely and always helpful. The hotel lobby is fresh new and stunning as is the restaurant. The food is also fairly good for hotel food but it was quite expensive. The room we were first given was BAD. Bad location, hallways were outdated and a bit creepy. The hotel is being modernised throughout so I'm guessing they just haven't got to this bit yet. As it was different than to what we had booked we spoke to reception who were so polite and accommodating and moved us to the newer high build and that was perfect. The room is HUGE, loved the amenities, fridge and the shower. We even saw a rocket going up from our window and it was just the best thing. The biggest problem we had here was the 40-50 students that arrived and took over the hotel. They had no consideration for other guests, being loud in the pool until 11pm and even having a 'team meeting' outside our room at midnight, it was a bit of a joke. This was being ran by a teacher who should know better. Suddenly we couldn't get any service, get a lift or get round our own pool in the day. Whilst I understand the hotel can't help who stays here, I would expect them to go and address the rowdiness noise and just complete lack of regard for everyone else. I did go on to complain about this and within half an hour had a call from the manager who asked to meet with me and she was honestly incredible. She explained that this wasn't normal for them and that they would be placing rules from the next day. Come the next afternoon the hotel was silent, we finally sat round the pool again and she also sent chocolates and a voucher to our room for us to use in the restaurant. She was very very understanding and it was clear the issue was also disrupting how they wanted the hotel to run. Her service and compassion was really important to us that we felt heard and I would definitely stay here again just for how lovely and helpful she was. A great stay (minus the kids!)
