I just want to say that my girlfriend and I were not having the best of time nor the best of luck at the moment. However, once we talked to Cheyenne Cage she helped brighten up our day and moods. She is literally one the sweetest and patient workers there. We appreciate your help and highly recommended staying here due to the hotel’s hospitality. Thank you so much Cheyenne!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE EVER RECEIVED! I would give zero stars if I could. We came to Las Vegas to get married in November. We had booked a VERY expensive suite to host our family for a small reception. I paid for the VIP service as online it boasted an early check in of 11am. By the time we arrived (us and our 4 kids), it was 12:30pm. We got into the VIP lounge to check in and were told our room wasn't ready. I let them know I had paid for the VIP service only because of the early check in, and we also let them know that we were getting married that day, and we were checking in early so that our family could get ready there! They were so unbelievably rude to us in the VIP lounge. They rudely told us there was nothing we could do. I told them I wanted a refund for he VIP upgrade I had paid for, and all she told me over and over again (literally probably 10 times) was that then we wouldn't have access to the VIP lounge. I told her I didn't care about the VIP lounge, we only wanted the early check in. We were again told it was too bad and so we started asking about other options. We asked if we could have a clean regular room just for an hour to be able to get our family ready for OUR WEDDING, and we were told they couldn't do that. We asked if we could get ready in a bathroom somewhere and were told, "I guess so." We asked if we could use the pool bathrooms so at least our boys could shower, and were told "You are no longer VIP, you will have to check at the regular desk." DID I MENTION WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE LEAVING IN AN HOUR FOR OUR WEDDING???!!!!! They could not have cared less to help us, were rude beyond belief, and offered zero suggestions or accommodations to try and help us. Time was running out so we left to find a bathroom to get ready in with our 4 kids. We found a bathroom in the downstairs somewhere and my husband went to get our things. The plug in in the bathroom wasn't even working so I couldn't plug in anything. When my husband was gone to get our things, he found a general (not VIP) manager and told him what was going on. He asked us why they hadn't just given us another room to get ready in and we told him we had asked and were told that's not something they do. He said it absolutely is something they do and he didn't know why they wouldn't help us. He was able to get us into a room after about another 20 minutes and by the time we arrived to the room, we were all sweaty, my hair had fallen, and we had 30 minutes to steam our dresses and get makeup on, get all 4 kids ready, and get back downstairs for our Uber. My husband and I both arrived to our wedding without having brushed our teeth, without having applied deodorant or perfume, and completely stressed out to the max. This should NEVER have happened. If at the very least, the VIP staff had been apologetic and tried to help come up with something to help us, that would have been a very different story. I understand that the room being ready is not their fault. But they were so rude. It was very much a "you can't sit with us" vibe...and we paid $3000 for the room. Truly the worst customer service I've experienced in my life. We complained to managers and were offered nothing except vague apologies and "we'll look into it". Zero discounts were applied, nothing was done to remedy the situation, and we will NEVER return to Mandalay Bay again. We will also advise anyone we know to not go either. The next morning, we were called 2 times by the front desk at 9am to see if we were out of the room yet (checkout wasn't supposed to be until 11). We felt rushed out of the room, like totally unwelcome guests. Everything from start to finish at Mandalay Bay was a disaster. Our basic rooms at other hotels the rest of our stay were MILES better and we will return to those hotels for sure. Do yourself a favor, and skip Mandalay Bay!

Could have been a way better experience...

Tip to fellow travelers - Check if there is any event being hosted in the convention center on the days of your trip. If so, reschedule your trip. Travelers - Four of us, my spouse, me and our 2 kids - our 8 year old son and 16 months old daughter. Purpose - Relaxing and enjoying our spring break. Pros - 1. The pools, beach and the lazy river! Its so much fun. 2. Shark Reef aquarium - a bit expensive but would say worth a one time visit. Nice variety of sea creatures on display. 3. Clean, spacious rooms. Clean premises. 4. The tram from Mandalay Bay to Excalibur hotel makes it very convenient to roam around the strip. Cons - 1. The landline / phone in the room never really worked, barring the first day. For any front desk / housekeeping requests I had to personally go to the front desk and request them. Even after lodging a complaint nothing was done for restoring the phone lines. 2. The digital concierge on the MGM rewards app is useless. 3. The doors to the bathroom had magnetic fasteners which made a very loud noise while operating them. This was especially troublesome during the night. 4. The light bulbs in the bathroom kept flickering from the time we entered the room. This should have been noticed and mended when the room was inspected before assigning it to us. 5. The resort is the first one on the strip - so its a bit far from all the fun and activities. 6. The TV had extremely disappointing channels / content. Would I visit again? Probably not. I would prefer going to a hotel on the strip. Details of my disappointment - Looking back I would say we had a relatively good time. However, it could have been way more fun experience had the hotel staff given us an heads up about the availability issues of amenities in the resort due to the Google Next 24 conference in the convention center during our trip. This was our first long distance trip with our little one. We wanted to make it easier for her and us hence we chose Mandalay Bay resort after evaluating multiple options and destinations. Reason - the convenience of the in-house amenities and attractions of the resort - the multiple pools, lazy river, beach, Shark Reef aquarium and multitude of restaurants. However, the Mandalay Bay convention center was also hosting the Google Next 24 conference during the same time of our trip. We were totally unaware of the coincidence, neither were we intimated of it by the resort folks. As a result all the in-house amenities were booked for the private events related to the conference! The pools and lazy river were blocked from 3 PM onwards - the time when it was actually warm and nice to play on the beach and in the water. Almost all of the restaurants in the premises were booked during breakfast and dinner to host private events related to the conference. The single restaurant that was remaining had huge queues and long waits (around an hour). This made us settle for way less that what we had expected and what was actually possible had the event not been there. If only the resort had sent us a note...

It was awesome but it isn’t my go to for Vegas

I literally LOVED this resort! If you look through my previous reviews, I’ve definitely stayed at my fair share of places in Vegas. Mandalay Bay pretty much has it all in one place. Initially I was slightly discouraged by the pricing, but it ended up being well worth it. For those who don’t want to walk the strip, this hotel checks those boxes. It pretty much has it all. The gentleman at the check in desk was pleasant and allowed me to check in early with no fees. I’d already been in Vegas for 3 days on business by the time I checked in so I was beyond appreciative. The room was great, casino floor was awesome, tons of restaurants and shops and it was just a good time! My only complaint is the mini fridge!!! I found it frustrating the fridge in the room was just for the mini bar items. I’m sorry… 12$ for a 12 ounce can on soda is utter nonsense, there is literally zero excuse other than they can. No one likes to feel ripped off. If you want to keep any of your items cold on your room, it will require a cooler. Fine if you’re driving in from SoCal, but overall a fail. 52$ a night on report fees and then no fridge?? Not to mention to resort fees are already a rip off. Pool fees when it’s not pool season lol. Frustrating, but UGH Vegas. Plenty of other hotels on the strip, more centrally located that will at least give you an option of a fridge to house your morning caffeine without charging you 1$ per ounce for it. Even resorts world has the fridge split in half. One half is over priced whatever and you get a small enough space to stash a drink. Not at Mandalay Bay! Amenities inside the resort, top tier! Gaming floor was awesome and I had a good time. Gift shops weren’t over priced and House of Blues was as amazing. Mandalay Bay wouldn’t be my go to place in Vegas, but overall it was a great experience.

    Terrible Customer Experience

Yeah, it's a fancy resort, and it's among the more expensive, but it's just not worth it. I'm barely 4 hours into the trip and I'm regretting the decision to stay here already. My key card has failed twice, and I was told to wait on a long check-in line to reactivate it. What was even more disappointing is that I found out my key card didn't work when I was turned away from the pools because they are closing three hours early for a private event. Mandalay boast about how great it's pool is, but you wouldn't know based on the dejected look of the 100 or so people who were ushered out of the pool area to accommodate whoever bought the whole thing out and caused it to close early. Apparently the pool is not covered in the resort fee either, so there's no concession there. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else that cares about it's guests and doesn't haphazardly deny access to the amenities that caused you to book in the first place.
