    Does not meet RIU standarts

    I ve been in many RIU resorts but this one is the worse of all of them First the room. Yes it’s all and outdated I knew about that but ias we arrived it was full of different bugs starting from ants to 3 cm black crawling creatures on my husband bed Next is the service We came after 3pm from the beach to clean room but… no towels. We asked and they brought it after 40 min so we had to wait in wet swimsuits in the room. A few times we tried to call the desk but not even once someone picked up the phone I always get sloppy in RIU so I did not bring mine. My husband requested slippers at the front desk and they promised to bring it to the room but nothing was delivered Food- only option for lunch is at the beach restaurant with no AC and flies and bees all over you All drinks and juices heavily diluted with water I spoke to the customer relations rep who did not even introduce herself and all she could say to my complains is come next year it will be better So all in one I would not give this resort even 3 stars and will not stay here again

    All Inclusive Flop

    Yikes. There was this awful sewer smell coming from the bathroom. The tub had a slow drain, the shower water backed up past your ankles while showering. The next day the toilet was stopped up. It was the worst. They sent a handy man to no avail. The food was not great, same choices everyday for lunch. It was tiring. I never heard of the liquor being served at the ball. This was my first all inclusive. I will not return to another RIU.

    Our return after 10 years

    10 years ago my review was 5 stars, now it is 4 stars. The Resort in general is good. Check in and Check Out were fast. The room was excellent, spacious, nice view (5th floor room 5118), A/C cooled well, good cleanliness. Bathroom is spacious although the bathtub is narrow and you have to be careful not to slip. The pool is nice but it already needs some renovation. The beach is good and very clean, the sand on the beach gets very hot, so please wear your flip flops until you get close to the water. It was extremely hot at the restaurant Buffet and the service of the waiters the first few days was not the best, we had to ask them to refill the water, from the 3rd day it improved a lot (maybe it was because it was full on the weekend). The food was very varied but not excellent. They need to improve the desserts, I really didn't like them. Very delicious ice cream and fruits. Good service at the bars. The shows at nights were excellent, the White Party was very fun. Beautiful and very well cared for gardens and green areas, there are a lot of butterflies. It was my son's 33 birthday during our stay, that day they sent a plate with strawberries and chocolates along with a Happy Birthday letter from customer service and front desk, it was a nice detail. They also decorated his room very beautifully and a table at the Buffet just for our party. I would like to thank Daisy Florecilla in customer service for trying to accommodate all of our requests. Also to David and especially Julissa from the entertainment team who were very special to us. Pura Vida!

    Wonderful Staff

    The staff was nearly perfect. They were always accommodating always nice. The place was more than clean and our maid deep cleaned multiple times while we were there. While there were multiple food options it was good but certainly not great.

    Do not recommend these thieves!!!

    I do not recommend this hotel or the Riu brand as this hotel is a poor representation of them. My check-in process was a nightmare. My reservation had included airport transportation and all taxes and fess included. The double room beds I reserved was a joke. When I got into the room and they gave us one queen bed per room. 2 rooms total for 3 single people. But our reservation was supposed to be double beds in each room, so 2 beds per room. When I called she said the double bed room means that 2 ppl can stay in the room not two beds. Lol thats NOT what double bed room means. Which was upsetting we had to share beds. The nightmare of it all is I had a random charge from Guanacaste CR on my debit card and since I had only given the front desk my card and it was moments after I checked in, I immediately addressed it with the front desk staff. The guy who checked me in along with his manager said it wasn't them who made this charge on my card. They showed me my receipts of my room, that's it. Nothing for this other chstge. However, they were the only ones who physically had my card. When I talked to my bank upon arriving back home they told me the chip part of my card was inserted in the machine and it was seconds before the hotel charged me for my room reservation. So the fact that they took money out of my account without my knowledge and consent is fraudulent. And, them denying it was them. Who else could it be when at the time the charge was made they were in physical possession of my card? I will never return to this hotel as they are not upfront and honest. They are running a scam. Be aware of what they charge you and don't pay them with any of your cards. The vendors they have on site also lie and try to get you to book with them based on false information. I forget the name of the actual company but stays with an A. We had to address our issues with them as well to receive a refund. Save yourself the time and hassle after your vacation and go somewhere else!!!
