This is not a 5 star resort - nowhere close to 5 stars. 3 stars at best. The rooms are grimy to the core, and so dated. Not sure when this room was thoroughly cleaned but it wasn’t in the last year. The restaurants are so mediocre, and the pool is small and is rarely cleaned. Idk why hotels claim to have 5 stars when it’s obvious it’s not, only a disappointment for guests The staff is wonderful - they go above and beyond

If you are wanting a great dinning experience go to Tamarindo, the Mexican Restaurant. Food is delicious, they make fresh Guacamole on the spot, but the service and attention from the staff is amazing. I tried a little of the menu every time I went, the Flank stake was always made to perfection and the sauce on the Ribs was Devine. We had the pleasure of sitting in Efren's section, he was one of the waiters there. He was kind, funny and made you feel right at home. He made sure that our cups were never empty, and made the meal so memorable we kept going back and always asked to sit in his section. Always checking in to see if we were happy with our meals. Every night we went back we asked to sit in his section. Regardless of how busy his area was he always made you feel like you were the only party that he was serving and you could see the connection he made with all the guest. Highly recommend Tamarindo, and ask for Efren!

Room and staff were very good some night time noise til 10 pm then quiet. Food was just OK. Some days not very many choices. Took a few requests to get action on cleaning of room. Location good beach sandy but rocky in ocean

Activities
Great job by the activity staff! Volleyball was great. Service was amazing everywhere. Everyone was easily accessible. Pool staff was amazing! They deserve a raise. Maybe a shuttle to take us to El Malecon. Will come back.

50th B Day celebration
Naomi our butler at the preferred club was phenomenal she made my celebration special from the first day. The housekeeping staff was made sure that the rooms were cleaned and room service staff kept our refrigerator full of drinks Everyone from Oscar, Ricardo and Maria Bustamante with the concierge provided top notch service and the partnership with Amstar gave us the opportunity to book for a great city tour excursion. We highly recommend the resort.
